Removal of Ocenia section--Fame Ball tour Gaga

This is article id for the fame ball tour, not a tour with PCD who are the headliners. I live in NZ and if Gaga was the headliner I would have bought tickets before it even came out to the public. Also there are no sources for Oceania.Has Anybody Seen My Disco Stick? 11:42, 6 March 2009 (UTC)

Yes it can be added. Its a valid source. --Legolas (talktome) 06:14, 10 March 2009 (UTC)
Thanks for the help. People stop "attacking" this user. If you have "good" sources then we will not have any problems.Has Anybody Seen My Disco Stick? 22:34, 6 March 2009 (UTC)

Fame Ball Tour

Hi, more vandlism at the Fame ball Tour artilce. Someone removed the tour dates, I can't undo it and added a setlist without sources.Has Anybody Seen My Disco Stick? 01:13, 8 March 2009 (UTC)

Ani thread

It's best to back off for now, let the ani thread fix it, you can revert to the last good version later. Use the talk page, speak to Efe etc. — R2 14:09, 9 March 2009 (UTC)

Already raised a concern at the talkpage and spoke to Efe. I'm concerned that this is going against 3RR. I don't know if i will face a block. What d you think?--Legolas (talktome) 14:13, 9 March 2009 (UTC)
Taking a look at things, Smanu's edits do not qualify as vandalism. He's making a good-faith effort to improve the page, and does have a point as the policy is not clear on that matter. Therefore, this is a content dispute that has turned into an edit war, and blocks will soon be in order to enforce WP:3RR, which I note both you and Smanu have already broken. The only reason I'm not blocking you now is because I don't think you've been properly warned about it. However, blocks and protection will be used if the edit war continues. Hersfold (t/a/c) 15:46, 9 March 2009 (UTC)

P.S.

Mentioning this separately so it won't show up in the diff I posted to ANI...

You really don't need to notify me about things every time you get into a dispute. If administrative action is needed, posting a quick notice to one of the noticeboard should be sufficent. I'm not always online anyway, so if you need quick action on something I'm not the person to talk to unless I'm actually actively editing (ignore my status template, I'm always forgetting to update it). I'm just saying this because sometimes calling up an administrator personally when you've already raised the issue elsewhere is sometimes seen as "forum shopping" for blocks and such. An issue raised at the appropriate noticeboard will be handled eventually. Let me know if you have any questions, though. Hersfold (t/a/c) 16:27, 9 March 2009 (UTC)

Ok cool. --Legolas (talktome) 05:56, 10 March 2009 (UTC)

The Image Delete Caption

Oh, sorry about that. I did that a long time ago. I didn't see why it was to be deleted so that's why I deleted the "delete caption" I now understand, please forgive me. I haven't vandalized any pages or anything. I've perhaps vandalized an image that I have uploaded on my own but it didn't really effect anyone. Legolas, considering your an experienced user, since my video screenshot will probably be deleted would it be possible if you could get a similar screenshot and upload it so that it is eligible for use on wikipedia. Child Funk (talk) 05:58, 10 March 2009 (UTC)

The problem lies with the image not with an user. There is nothing in the image which cannot be described in words and hence badly fails WP:NFCC#8. I would advice you to upload an image containing a scene which is being discussed in the music video section and cannot be fully described by words. You can check the other Gaga article music video images for example. --Legolas (talktome) 06:03, 10 March 2009 (UTC)

LOVEGAME

STOP removing LoveGame. It IS a single.. it is confirmed, it has a video release and it is charting in certain countries. And if you think "it's not been confirmed yet" you know it will be anytime soon, so please stop messing and let's keep this page useful and easy to read.

Plus... who are you to judge which countries are more important?? Stop removing countries from the list. Spain is not a minor market.

If you want a personalized Lady Gaga page, create your own blog and stop messing around here.

GaGa singles

Some hurdles we met when developing music-related articles come in when we find info regarding the composition/structure and history of the recording and writing. Those are important sections, although the former is not highly required for GAs. When the background of the single is not included, the article is likely to be failed. I suggest you scour the net, interviews, magazines, etc. --Efe (talk) 10:28, 11 March 2009 (UTC)

Ok Ef, but is there any website you have previously referred which publishes regarding music composition? --Legolas (talktome) 12:04, 11 March 2009 (UTC)
Mostly in interviews with the producers and writers, sometimes in reviews. For the structure, I used music sheets (musicnotes.com and 8notes.com) before, but I left it; its sort of original research. Also, sometimes its not reliable. We'd better stick to journalistic articles. --Efe (talk) 12:16, 11 March 2009 (UTC)

Lady Gaga

I think I've been civilized...

It's just that I don't understand WHY you keep on deleting Lovegame and I would lile you to explain it to me. Thanks. Rub rb (talk) 12:11, 11 March 2009 (UTC)

Definitely i will explain it to you. See, LoveGame, though we know will be released as a single, but it still hasnot been confirmed by any sources not has it been said by Gaga herself in any interview. If you can find and add a source stating its release, I'll be happy to allow it to be a part of the singles. Next, in the discography page, i removed Spain & Turkey. The reason was, both the references for them pointed to the charts not the discography of the artist. Hence when the song ultimately falls out of the chart, the links will become invalid, won't they? That's the reason i'm reverting your good edits. If you find me a reference which points to the artist discography and has the chart positions, i will be happy to allow it. Cheers! --Legolas (talktome) 12:16, 11 March 2009 (UTC)

Here it is the discography page of Lady Gaga in Spain: http://www.spanishcharts.com/showitem.asp?interpret=Lady+GaGa&titel=The+Fame&cat=a

About the singles chart, (where 'just dance' has peaked at #8 till now), we have an official Top 50 Singles Chart since January comprised of physical singles, downloads and ringtones. PROMUSICAE doesn't publish the top 20 physical singles chart anymore. However, this page, spanishcharts.com only shows the list of the physical singles compiled by Media Control but not "official". Regarding the topic of the link bein deleted, PROMUSICAE has a "history" section, where you can find all the charts since 2004 so NO chart is deleted. Rub rb (talk) 12:36, 11 March 2009 (UTC)

You are right. I checked Spanishcharts and acharts.com and they both mirror each other by publishing the Physical singles chart only. Hence we can't use them as sources. thanks for your clarification by the way. Really appreciated. I think we need to move acharts and Ultratop to the WP:BADCHART sections for Spain. You can add this link for "Just Dance" to the Just Dance article also. --Legolas (talktome) 12:46, 11 March 2009 (UTC)

Spanish charts

I like the idea of forbidding charts more and more each day, because this just gets too complex. The results of a few minutes research (so it may change): Spanishcharts.com is a physical sales chart, PROMUSICAE publishes the combined airplay/physical/download and airplay-only charts. All are good charts, but you need to be specific about which one you are including in an article. In general, I think the combined chart is better, but it's harder to reference properly.—Kww(talk) 12:53, 11 March 2009 (UTC)

Well i also did further research and found that it is easy to reference the Promiscuae one as it has archives for each week (Go to charts --> All Charts --> History, you'll find them). Also Promiscuae stopped publishing the Physical chart from January hence i don't think we should be adding the ones from Ultratop or acharts anymore and hence they should be included for the BADCHARTS section in the chart proposal. What do you think? --Legolas (talktome) 12:58, 11 March 2009 (UTC)
I'm glad that it's good before January, so we won't have to try to modify 300000 articles. The search does generate a unique PDF, so unique referencing is possible. The problem is that this isn't a "bad" chart, it's a component chart. If the song listed on the physical chart top 100 but didn't make the combined top 50, it would be fine to list the position from Spanishcharts.com. It's complicated, but I agree it needs an explanation. I'll work on one, and discuss it at WT:Record charts.—Kww(talk) 13:05, 11 March 2009 (UTC)
Uh, the search does generate a unique pdf. See here, this is for the week of 16/2 to 22/2 and this is for 9/2 to 16/2, they are different. They generate the indivitual pdfs. Hence i don't think it would be a problem regarding archiving. Ya, we do need to discuss this at the project page. --Legolas (talktome) 13:11, 11 March 2009 (UTC)

Madonna

Hi Legolas, thanks for the comments, glad you enjoyed the article. I am really not a big Madonna fan, it's just that I really like 80s music. But I think I can help you with some of Madonna's singles. What I do first is dig for info about a particular song, right now I have "Live to Tell" on mi User:Frcm1988/Sandbox. If you want to pass a song for GA, you really need to find some info about the background, writing, recording or the production. I think a section about this is vital for GA, many of Madonna song's also have a good amount of info about the critical reception, the music video section, and you really can make a chart performance about any of her songs. The music and lyrics, or composition sections, are not a requirement for GA, but I found this info for some of her songs: "La Isla Bonita", "True Blue", "Express Yourself", "Like a Prayer" and "Like a Virgin". But like I said this is not a requirement. So to resume I will be happy to help you on some of the songs, just tell me which songs are you interested to promote. Regards. Frcm1988 (talk) 19:52, 11 March 2009 (UTC)

Hey I would be happy to collaborate with you. At present lets focus on Live to Tell and develop it. I will help you with the background and writing for this song and leave my edits in your sandbox page. Then if this one passes GA we will take up others also. I think it will be interesting project. I have another user called Realist2 who i think would love to collaborate with us. I'll ping him for his opinion. --Legolas (talktome) 03:42, 12 March 2009 (UTC)
Oh ok, if you want to help me is great too. I was really surprised that none of Madonna's songs are GA or FA. I thought that if it wasn't already a Wikiproject Madonna at least a horde of Madonna fans will alredy improved the articles. Well I guess I was wrong. Oh and can you tell me which song you have in mind to be the next one, it's just that when I am searching for info I cross with a lot about other songs, and is a lot easier to save the info than to start searching again for it, specially when I search in books. Regards. Frcm1988 (talk) 04:47, 12 March 2009 (UTC)
Lets work on Erotica. It was controversial and material will be found easily. Even Justify My Love will be good too. Lets work on those for whom material will be available easily, then move on to the others. --Legolas (talktome) 04:50, 12 March 2009 (UTC)
Oh you like the controversial ones. Ok I think it will be fun to improve them. Frcm1988 (talk) 04:55, 12 March 2009 (UTC)
He he. Its nothing like that i like the controversial ones. Its just that material will be available easily for them. --Legolas (talktome) 05:04, 12 March 2009 (UTC)
Ha ha, just kidding. Just to tell you that after a quick search I found info about the music video, the composition and musical structure of "Justify My Love", that's a good start. Well Im going to sleep now, its nearly 4am here. Regards. Frcm1988 (talk) 08:44, 12 March 2009 (UTC)
I also found some info for "Live to tell" for its music structure. References are [1] [2] [3] [4]. Don't know whether they will be of much help. --Legolas (talktome) 10:17, 12 March 2009 (UTC)

I did suggest a Wikiproject, on the talk page of the Madonna article, but it didn't get much of a response. I'm a bit up to my neck at the moment with other articles. When my workload resides, I'll help out. — R2 14:19, 12 March 2009 (UTC)

Ohh scoots, I really need your help on this Realist   --Legolas (talktome) 03:28, 13 March 2009 (UTC)

Heyyyyyyyyy came back from the Fame Ball tour yesterday!!!!! WOW what a show!!!!! Gaga kicked ass like anything.. It was Fashion in the true sense!! I've got a soar throat screaming last night... Ohh god.. can't believe i saw her in person.... She wore this awesome dresses. Anyways, and WOW to you for this!!! I missed sticky but in no way i was gonna miss this. --Legolas (talktome) 06:43, 14 March 2009 (UTC)

Interview

Legolas, why are there various amounts of [...] put in the interview text for the LoveGame music video section. I don't see any of them in the official source, why are they there? I'm puzzled .. Child Funk (talk)

That is done as a formatting to eliminate any of the reporter's comments and only keep Gaga's comments in the quote. To provide continuity those [...] are put. Its nothing unusual. --Legolas (talktome) 05:37, 12 March 2009 (UTC)

Just Dance

Can you please explain to me why you removed File:Gaga - Just Dance UK.jpg, from "Just Dance"? It is the UK single cover and is clearly different from the original US cover.Dt128 (talk) 19:11, 12 March 2009 (UTC)

No its not. Except for the picture being a little bright, there's nothing different in it. Why are you asking me? You are not the one who uploaded it. *Shrug* --Legolas (talktome) 04:48, 13 March 2009 (UTC)
Stop being so controlling it IS different, if you cant see that then you need to get your eyes tested.Dt128 (talk) 17:44, 13 March 2009 (UTC)

I've used a video where Lady GaGa HERSELF says her bday is on 28th as a source. Isn't that reliable? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Ki WoR (talkcontribs) 05:17, 13 March 2009 (UTC)

Protection

I see this guy's responsible, mostly, for the recent moves. I think we can inform him instead of move protecting the page. Recent activities cannot fully justify the prot. After warnings, if they persist, we can make the protection --Efe (talk) 08:47, 13 March 2009 (UTC)

Will do. But as you will see he previously also blanked those warnings and chose to continue with the moves. Also another user has started with the moves. Please take a look. --Legolas (talktome) 09:03, 13 March 2009 (UTC)
Yeah. I saw it. But I think its manageable because they are established users. --Efe (talk) 09:17, 13 March 2009 (UTC)
Congrats! I presume you got nice pictures (only if cams were allowed and you got one)? Beyonce was here last November 2007, and the ticket prices were fucking high. And the venue was far from where I lived. --Efe (talk) 06:56, 14 March 2009 (UTC)
Ya i got fantastic pics with my cam. I'm in LA for hte past one month staying with my sister. My brother-in-law got the tickets. I saw Beyonce here at Lobo restaurant. She was without Jay-Z. Man she looks so stunning from the front. Gaga's show started with a huge screen telling about Haus of Gaga and her fab for David Warhol and Fame. Then she started with Papparazzi. You should see her bubble dress and she sang a new song called Future Love. --Legolas (talktome) 07:36, 14 March 2009 (UTC)
I envy you. But I hope (to the highest level [expression here in the Philippines]) that she'll come back, perhaps during her I Am tour. Anyway, are you going to share those pics at Commons? --Efe (talk) 07:40, 14 March 2009 (UTC)
I hope so if my sister allows permission. I'm still trying to find as much reference i can regarding the show and not my own research. By the way, one user continuously deletes teh tour dates stating WP:NOTDIR, but notdir doesnot say anything about tour dates. What is your opinion on this? --Legolas (talktome) 07:43, 14 March 2009 (UTC)
It somewhat falls under WP:DIR. Not quite sure. It has not been extensively discussed. IMO, tour dates aren't encyclopedic. I think you got the same concern with Realist. --Efe (talk) 07:58, 14 March 2009 (UTC)

I think there's no wikiproject for tour-related articles, as of now. --Efe (talk) 14:06, 17 March 2009 (UTC)

jealous

OMFG!!! You went to the FUCKIN. Fame Ball, you are so lucky I am sooooooo jealous right now, how the hell did you get tickets and how much did it cost to go to the US in these hard times(recission--hope i spelt that right). How was it,was it "the greatest, most life changing experience". what was the setlist?, how many costumes changes were there?, was she good live as her records--I've seen youtube vids. sometimes it is good and sometimes not so. I would kill to go(not litterally), I am so jealous, if I had enough money I would have gone. Did you get any pictures or vids. @morro I am going to see vids on youtube. I am so jealous. Has Anybody Seen My Disco Stick? 07:08, 14 March 2009 (UTC)

I'm in LA for hte past one months staying at my sisters place. She got the tickets. It was OMG OMG OMG OMG The beginning itself was so outta this world!! There were 5 costume changes, and she completely killed the show. I missed Madonna's Sticky tour was not gonna miss this--Legolas (talktome) 07:19, 14 March 2009 (UTC)

I going to start to cry, I want to go. But I am probably to young and I can't wait for her to do a tour in NZ, she is coming with PCD, but doing like six songs--so I think i will pass on that, but when she does I am going to get my hands on tickets. Want intro. did she use--the pop music low brow or a completly new one? What was the first song? Any new songs? Was space cowboy there and how were the opening acts? P.S. I am still jealous. And guess my age.Has Anybody Seen My Disco Stick? 07:29, 14 March 2009 (UTC)

She started with a huge screen telling about Haus of Gaga and her fab for David Warhol and Fame. Then she started with Papparazzi. Space cowboy i'm not sure which one that was, maybe the one in starstruck. You should see her bubble dress and she sang a new song called Future Love. --Legolas (talktome) 07:31, 14 March 2009 (UTC)

Oh. I think thats a new intro. I am gonig on youtube to see every vid. Esp. the future love song. Paparizzi is her fav. song (thats what she said). Space Cowboy was probably the one in stastruck he feat. on the song and is the producer of that song. I saw her bubble dress, but I wonder how she sings in it, its like squeezing her cheeks, thanks for the info. by the way, an actual fisrt hand account other then youtube.Has Anybody Seen My Disco Stick? 07:38, 14 March 2009 (UTC)

I will help as much as I can. Tell when you put the pics up and where it is. If they are really good put them on the article.Has Anybody Seen My Disco Stick? 07:57, 14 March 2009 (UTC)

Legolas, your so lucky to go see GaGa live. I still may be going to see her with my friends as she is comming to Australia in May. She is only going to be a supporting act for the Pussycat Dolls so that's a bummer because PCD suck live bigtime live nor do I have much of a liking to them anyway. She should do The Fame Ball Tour in Australia aswel, not just North America. She has had major sucess here and I assure a tour would do well. Hopefully she might play at some smaller venues in Sydney without the Dolls so I can go see her. She came here last year for a couple of days to promote the release of The Fame, make some tv performances and play in a couple of clubs but that's about it. Not interested anymore. I've told that guy he can either talk to you directly, or do it himself with a source. --Rsrikanth05 (talk) 13:37, 16 March 2009 (UTC)

Live to Tell

Hi, I have to fix first the "Live performance" and "Cover versions" sections, made them look like the "Papa Don't Preach" article. I alredy found the info about the structure and the composition, the only thing missing is an interpretation about the lyrics, but I don't think it is absolutly necessary. I generally search the information before I start to edit an article, to be sure that it can pass to GA, it alredy happended to me before, just look at "Hold Me Now", I did almost everything in the article, even a composition section, but I was unable to find info about the writing. So don't worry I alredy have the info, I just need time to put it in the article. Regards. Frcm1988 (talk) 19:53, 17 March 2009 (UTC)

Ohh k. For the Live Performance you can get much info about the controversy and images(free) from the Confessions Tour article. The cover versions i think we will be able to find references for all the covers. In the meantime I have a question to ask. How do you find info about the structure and composition? From Musicnotes.com? If so how do you interpret it? If you can tell me I'll go ahead with La Isla Bonita. Found quite a bit of info about it. We can both simultaneously collaborate. Also, user Realist said that he'll help after he finishes his FAs. He has over 500 GAs and will be a great help. Cheers. --Legolas (talktome) 03:41, 18 March 2009 (UTC)
I mostly use books or reviews. From musicnotes you can obtain some things, for example if you go to the end of the page and put "Arrengement Details" you will see the vocal or voice range. The "metronome" have the beats per minute and there is also the song's key. Now the time signature is in the sheet, at the beginning appears 4/4, that means is common time, almost all pop songs are in common time, but there are a few that are in compound quadruple meter, for example "The Sweet Escape", just see in the "Time signature" article or just tell me which one is it and I can help you with that. I don't use the other information because I can't read the sheet info, don't know anything about the symbols or music theory. Hope this help. Frcm1988 (talk) 04:13, 18 March 2009 (UTC)
Thanks dude, a great help this has been. One question how do you find the books and the ISBN? --Legolas (talktome) 04:18, 18 March 2009 (UTC)
I use Google Book Search, just put the thing you're looking for, for example "La Isla Bonita", then a list with all the books that have the word will appear, some of them are restricted but some of them have the preview option, you can't see all the book but some of the pages. You can also put the "about the book" option, there you can see the complete name, the author(s), the publishers, the year and the ISBN. Frcm1988 (talk) 04:29, 18 March 2009 (UTC)
I believe it's ok, the only books you should avoid are the self published ones. I don't know how to recognize them very well, but generally the ones that are published by iUniverse aren't consider reliable, since they are a self-pubishing company. But the one you are using is ok, I believe I have that one in the "Papa Don't Preach" article. Ohhh and I always thought that she was refering about Spain, I am from Latin America and never heard about that. Ha ha, I learn something new every day. Frcm1988 (talk) 07:22, 18 March 2009 (UTC)

(Outdent)Ok cool. Thanks for your help. I will proceed with the article here. Got so much information that i can't believe people didnot update these articles!!! And ya, she isn't referring to Spanish people, only the beauty of the islands surrounding Spain. Apparently the video also displays this huge duality and is filled with symbolism, which i have to read and insert in the article (yeahhhh). --Legolas (talktome) 07:36, 18 March 2009 (UTC)

Ok, just tell me if you need any help. Happy editing. Frcm1988 (talk) 07:38, 18 March 2009 (UTC)
The photo that I put it's not a definitive one. And the blockquote is very long and is not continuous, it have five separated sentences, without the image some of them only have one line and looks very odd. Frcm1988 (talk) 21:38, 18 March 2009 (UTC)

Can you help me please?

Hi. I noticed that you reverted my edit. Could you help me incorporate this info into the poker face article please. Everytime I try the references mess up. JayJ47 (talk) 05:14, 18 March 2009 (UTC)

In the United States, the song originally debuted at number twenty-five on the Bubbling Under Hot 100 chart on the issue dated, October 18, 2008.[1] In the week of January 3, 2009, "Poker Face" entered the Billboard Hot 100 at number ninety-two.[2]"Poker Face" has since reached a peak position of number-three becoming Lady Gaga's second consecutive top five hit. "Poker Face" also debuted at number sixty-one on the Billboard Pop 100 and has since peaked at number-four.[3] The song has also peaked at number-one on the Hot Dance Club Play. "Poker Face" is certified Platinum by the RIAA.

In Canada, "Poker Face" debuted at number fourty-one on the Canadian Hot 100, and on the chart dated December 13, 2008 "Poker Face" reached number-one becoming Lady GaGa's second consecutive number-one hit.[4] It spent a total of nine non-consecutive weeks at the top spot.

In Australia, "Poker Face" entered the Australian ARIA Singles Chart at number twenty-six. It reached the top ten peaking at number-nine in its fifth week on the chart, and eventually peaked at number-one for eight non-consecutive weeks, becoming Lady GaGa's second consecutive number-one hit there. "Poker Face" has since been certified 3x Platinum by ARIA for sales in excess of 210,000 copies.[5] In New Zealand, "Poker Face" debuted at number twenty-one on the New Zealand RIANZ Singles Chart, and ascended into the top ten to number-eight in its third week on the chart. "Poker Face" eventually peaked at number-one for ten consecutive weeks, becoming Lady GaGa's first number-one hit.[6] "Poker Face" is certified Platinum by RIANZ for sales in excess of 15,000.

In the United Kingdom, "Poker Face" entered the UK Singles Chart at number-thirty based solely on download sales, on the chart dated January 18, 2009.[7] "Poker Face" has since reached a peak position of number-three, becoming Lady GaGa's second consecutive top five hit.[8]

"Poker Face" has also become a major hit across Europe, reaching number-one on the singles charts in Austria, Switzerland, Sweden, Belgium, Finland, Norway, Denmark and France.

Stop adding LoveGame to the Gaga singles discography page. Its not confirmed as a single. If you want add it to the Promo section not in the Single section. As evident from your talk page, I think we are gonna have problem with your WP:NPA ways .--Legolas (talktome) 05:34, 13 March 2009 (UTC)

First, I don't attack people! Just your making that comment is an attack on me.

Second I tire of people on here that assume that because they do the majority of the editing on many of these articles, that they assume they know everything and that no one should question them. I can understand the importance of wanting to be accurate. But when you repeatedly ignore what numerous people tell you, it seems that it is more a matter of arrogance and the feeling you know it all. As I said before even if you want to argue that there has not been an official single release, It doesn't have to be officially released to chart on any billboard chart. That was done away with a long time ago. And where do you drawn the line on determining what countries will or will not be used as a determining factor as to what will or will considered as an official release. I love finding chart information on here for many artists, especially songs that have peaked at Number One. I just tire of people setting up different rules for different artists.

As for the comment about my talk page, that was more than 2 years ago. So I don't make a habit of this. I like many others try to add information that I know to be factual when I can. I have just run into a problem with some people acting as if no one else is supposed to edit a page but them. And from reading your page, it seems you have had you run ins with other people as well so telling me I have had a problem my WP:NPA ways is abit like the pot calling the kettle black.

All I ask is that people on here listen to others when they tell them about information. That they look into the information that others give and not just assume they know it all. Countless people have told you of the singles release. My question is why won't you listen. I like to help out on here and like many others I don't appreciate it when someone writes something rude about me when all I was trying to do is help. I guess I probably should bother offering any help or information (MoovieStarz (talk) 04:15, 17 March 2009 (UTC)) —Preceding unsigned comment added by MoovieStarz (talkcontribs)

LEarn to sign your talkpages. And yeah, two years or not, you seem to have not corrected your WP:NPA ways. LoveGame will be removed untill and unless confirmed as a single. --Legolas (talktome) 04:17, 19 March 2009 (UTC)

Look I am trying to help here. Matter of fact I just added the image for the single to the page for LoveGame. By The way, I noticed LoveGame has been added back to the chart again. Now I am not sure if you think I added it back based on your comment , but I didn't.

And again with the accusing me of WP:NPA ways, you have some room to talk. Your Talk page is full of rude comments to other people. I am not sure why some people on here think it is their right to get rude with people, just because they have set up articles and charts etc. Accept peoples help and feedback and do it in a decent manner. I can understand wanting to be accurate, but there are better ways to do it than being rude with people, just because you believe you are right and they are wrong.

So you can take the information I have offered or leave it. I don't care. Like I said Billboard magazine doesn't require a song to have a single released any longer to chart. If you don't believe me I can get the information for you to prove it. Just talk to people in a decent fashion on here. I appreciate the time you have put into this page, just like all the other pages I look at here at Wikipedia. I just don't appreciate being treated as if I don't have a right to make edits because you think you know it all.(MoovieStarz (talk) 04:40, 19 March 2009 (UTC))

Gaga discog

There is nothing wrong using allmusic as a source. It is accepted. I choose this because allmusic records more chart position than Billboard does. Also, the acharts.us reference I just use the reference from the top. I really don't understand why you want to keep those two refs. They are in the same website. The latter two may be more direct, but the top one is enough. Langdon (talk) 04:21, 19 March 2009 (UTC)i7114080

Songs Don't Need Single Release To Chart at Billboard Magazine!

I have included the information below which can be found on Wikipedia about songs not having to be released as a single to chart on Billboards charts.

As many Hot 100 chart policies have been modified over the years, one rule always remained constant: songs were not eligible to enter the Hot 100 unless they were available to purchase as a single. However, on December 5, 1998 the Hot 100 changed from being a "singles" chart to a "songs" chart. During the 1990s, a growing trend in the music industry was to promote songs to radio without ever releasing them as singles. It was feared by major record labels that singles were cannibalizing album sales, so they were slowly phased out. During this period, accusations began to fly of chart manipulation as labels would hold off on releasing a single until airplay was at its absolute peak, thus prompting a top ten or, in some cases, a number one debut. In many cases, a label would delete a single from its catalog after only one week, thus allowing the song to enter the Hot 100, make a high debut and then slowly decline in position as the one-time production of the retail single sold out.

It was during this period that several popular mainstream hits never charted on the Hot 100, or charted well after their airplay had declined. During the period that they were not released as singles the songs were not eligible to chart. Many of these songs dominated the Hot 100 Airplay chart for extended periods of time:

   * 1995 The Rembrandts – "I’ll Be There For You" (number one for eight weeks)
   * 1996 No Doubt – "Don't Speak" (number one for sixteen weeks)
   * 1997 Sugar Ray featuring Super Cat – "Fly" (number one for six weeks)
   * 1997 Will Smith - "Men in Black" (number one for four weeks)
   * 1997 The Cardigans – "Lovefool" (number two for eight weeks)
   * 1998 Natalie Imbruglia – "Torn" (number one for eleven weeks)
   * 1998 Goo Goo Dolls – "Iris" (number one for eighteen weeks)

As debate and conflicts occurred more and more often, Billboard finally answered the requests of music industry artists and insiders by including airplay-only singles (or "album cuts") in the Hot 100. Still, a song has to be officially promoted by a record label to be eligible for inclusion on the Hot 100 whether it has a single available or not. A song that does not have a retail component is allowed to enter the Hot 100 provided it ranks above position 75 on the Hot 100 Airplay chart.(MoovieStarz (talk) 05:08, 19 March 2009 (UTC))

I'm not denying the fact that LoveGame charted, but the fact is LoveGame hasnot been relesaed as a single. I'm just telling not to add it under singles, add it under Other Cahrted songs. When LoveGame is confirmed as a single, we can add it to the Single section. --Legolas (talktome) 05:53, 19 March 2009 (UTC)

Dude, you do not own this article, so stop reverting other people's edits to contain all that nonsense bullshit. People go to Wikipedia to find out "facts" about things, and don't need to be misled with the fanatic fan shit that people like yourself keep adding to subjective pages. Knock it off.

If you continue to revert edits to your liking on here, I will report you as a vandal, abuse of pages (per Wikipedia: You do not own articles (nor templates and other features of Wikipedia). If you create or edit an article, know that others will edit it, and within reason you should not prevent them from doing so.) and for edit warring. 71.142.98.40 (talk) 03:38, 23 March 2009 (UTC)

La Isla Bonita

Hello! I see the sandbox work you've done for this article. Good work! I hear that you are looking for things to go into the reception section. May I suggest looking at newspaper archives? The New York Times and the Houston Chronicle both have free viewable archives. You may be able to find something in those two places. It helped me in finding reception info for No Jacket Required! Have a great day! CarpetCrawler (talk) 22:23, 23 March 2009 (UTC)

Thanks Carpet for your help. Really appreciated. I will go into them and search. :) --Legolas (talktome) 03:27, 24 March 2009 (UTC)
I see you have nominated the article for a GA review. Hopefully my advice was of some sort of assistance, and good luck with the review! CarpetCrawler (talk) 06:52, 24 March 2009 (UTC)
It was. Though I'm still a little sceptical that the critical reception is a tad bit short than the rest. Will it fail for it? I'm concerned. --Legolas (talktome) 06:54, 24 March 2009 (UTC)
I understand your concern. It does seem like that that section will hurt the GA review. What stinks is that Allmusic just mentions its latin style, and the Rolling Stone review doesn't even mention it at all! Tomorrow night (Since it's almost three A.M. here and I need to go to bed sometime soon...) I'll lend a hand and see what I can find. I am able to access to full archive of Newsday at my local campus library, I'm bound to find something there. Also, I see that you have used Professor Maury Dean's book as a source. I haven't read the book in awhile (It's a great read, though!) but I know that Dean sometimes puts his thoughts on the songs he writes about, in the book. Maybe he wrote something up about the song? I'll check Newsday and other news sources tomorrow, and report back. I'll be on after nine at night, since I have class and such. If I find anything, I will definitely add it to the article. :) CarpetCrawler (talk) 07:06, 24 March 2009 (UTC)
I know. I searched every good music site possible. What I get is only the style (god!! every body knows its Latin style). Maurie Dean's book is really good, I'll give it a look to see there can be something in it. Also, if book reviews can be included, then i think quite a few books will be available. I'll be looking for them now. Its 12'o' clock noon here (Indian time). --Legolas (talktome) 07:15, 24 March 2009 (UTC)
Books should be OK. I used Dean's book, as well as one of Fred Bronson's books in No Jacket Required, and it passed a GA review, and is almost ready for a FAR. It can never hurt to have around 2-3 paragraphs of critic response! I mean, if the book is written by Dean, Bronson, or someone especially like Dave Marsh, it should be acceptable. Tomorrow night I'll look in the Newsday archive we have on campus, and take a look around online for more critical response. Have a great day! :) CarpetCrawler (talk) 07:20, 24 March 2009 (UTC)
Thanks again Carpet. You are one true helper. --Legolas (talktome) 07:22, 24 March 2009 (UTC)
No problem. :) I'm all for the improvement of music articles on Wikipedia. I'll check back with you tomorrow! CarpetCrawler (talk) 07:30, 24 March 2009 (UTC)

(Outdent) That's even better than online reviews. Look also for magazines and newspapers. I really don't have enough access to those stuffs. --Efe (talk) 04:18, 25 March 2009 (UTC)

Yeah, books are perfect! :) My apologies for my dissappearance yesterday, one of my close friends had a problem and I was up late helping her. You've done a GREAT job with the article! The reception paragraph looks excellent. In a little bit I will look for more reception info anyway, because it's always good to have a lot of reception info, but it looks great! You've gone great work, keep it up! CarpetCrawler (talk) 19:28, 25 March 2009 (UTC)
UPDATE. As promised, I have added another paragraph of reception info. I hope the article passes. :) Good luck! CarpetCrawler (talk) 19:57, 25 March 2009 (UTC)
Hey there! Just reminding you that I added an extra paragraph to the reception section, and also telling you that if you ever need help finding reviews for the reception section of any of your articles, feel free to send me a message. :) Have a great day! CarpetCrawler (talk) 04:34, 26 March 2009 (UTC)
Hey I just saw your wonderful addition to the article. Thanks for all your help dude. Love you. As stated above, I have started working on "Open Your Heart". Lets see how far I progress. If I get stuck somewhere, I'll definitely ask you. In the meantime have kept my fingers crossed that the article passes GA. --Legolas (talktome) 04:38, 26 March 2009 (UTC)
No problemo! And OK, that sounds good. And I also hope that the article passes! It looks like it'll be an easy pass, but we'll see when it gets reviewed. Good luck! CarpetCrawler (talk) 04:55, 26 March 2009 (UTC)
It looks fine to me! I don't think anyone will find it to be too tedious, as it is not just a recap of the video, which is good! You're doing great with the article, and feel free to send me a message if you need help, and I'll see what I can do! CarpetCrawler (talk) 06:43, 26 March 2009 (UTC)

Your reversions without explanation

"Nopes, wrong again" and "nopes, all are needed" are not reasons for reverting an edit (Just Dance). I explained my reasoning with my edit, and now I have explained the reason in discussion at length. Answer the issues, don't just change something without a valid explanation, because you disagree. Piano non troppo (talk) 06:47, 24 March 2009 (UTC)

Already did. --Legolas (talktome) 06:49, 24 March 2009 (UTC)
No, you didn't answer. All you did is say again "I'm right, and you're wrong." The information I removed is both 1) Trivia (discouraged) and 2) Original Research (forbidden). Cite Wikipedia guidelines. Piano non troppo (talk) 06:55, 24 March 2009 (UTC)
I didnot say that. If you understood wrong, not my problem. the statistical analysis which you are showing is correct, but it doesnot apply here. Reason - It only says which artist replaced which. That doesnot fall under OR nor does it fall under Trivia. Whatever trivia was there I already removed. --Legolas (talktome) 06:57, 24 March 2009 (UTC)
You are not just reverting the one edit under discussion, you are indiscriminately removing several edits at the same time. Specifically, duplicate links WP:CONTEXT, unencyclopedic language "Before being knocked off the top spot", and peacock language "big hit". You are changing statistics based on non-specific references to sites that do not confirm the alteration, e.g. [5]. If you are aware of Wikipedia guidelines, then cite your reasoning. Otherwise, my edits stand. Piano non troppo (talk) 07:03, 24 March 2009 (UTC)
Well then if you find any source which fails WP:RS then you can remove them. But an artist replacing another one on the charts is perfectly legitimate according to WP:SINGLE. Any unencyclopedic language, failing PEACOCK can be altered, not removed, like you are doing. Duplicate links can be referenced properly. In a nutshell, what you are doing is simply removing content, not trying to improve it. I don't find good faith in it. --Legolas (talktome) 07:07, 24 March 2009 (UTC)
Thanks for explaining. In WP:SINGLE, are we talking about this info in "Charts and succession"?
"Songs that are popular enough to appear on prominent record charts should have a "Chart performance" section. This section describes the song's history on the record charts and usually includes a table showing the song's peak chart positions. If a song is a number-one single, a succession box can also be included in this section."
WP:SINGLE talks in terms about a succession box. What I should have removed (but didn't), and which better illustrates the issue is
"The single took 22 weeks to hit the top spot, which is the second-longest climb to number one since Creed's "With Arms Wide Open" took 27 weeks before finally reaching number one in November 2000."
This illustrates the kind of statistical trivia that has no logical end. ("The second shortest climb", "The 13th shortest climb", "The longest decline from number one", "The longest decline from number one in the UK charts"...on and on.) I see your point on the statistical edits I did make. Wouldn't the above quote, though, be considered outside WP:SINGLE? Piano non troppo (talk) 07:29, 24 March 2009 (UTC)
The info about Creed is an important one and was illustrated by Billboard themselves. That can be kept. Anything else that you pointed out can be deleted. But be careful for references. --Legolas (talktome) 03:24, 25 March 2009 (UTC)

Its perfectly legitimate to strikeout your addition because you are wrongly addressing some one else's addition as forum-like when its not. You yourself continue adding things forum-like. Do I need to point out more or is this enough? Don't try to contradict me. I can point it in your eyes what you do. Legolas is GagaLoveGame really dance pop? I've directly asked him that question and he replied that he wasn't and that I was getting mixed up with another user so I'm really confused. Whatever happened to Dance-Pop and the whole sockpuppy thing anyway? Child Funk (talk) 06:13, 26 March 2009 (UTC)

Yes GaGalove is really Dance-pop and he/she has been blocked indefinitely now after WP:RCU checked that it is indeed a sockpuppet. Its a despicable form of sockpuppetry which the user exhibited the second time. Hence the block again. I knew that it was Dance-pop from the first day (too much wrong spellings). Initially I thought that the user had changed his ways, but a little disagreement in talk page led to Gaga/Dance-pop resorting to old threatening ways. Hence admins blocked again. But let's not have any further discussion regarding these things. Let's concentrate on bringing up the Gaga articles to GA standard. --Legolas (talktome) 06:34, 26 March 2009 (UTC)

Poker Face Italian Peak Position

I saw that you have contributed to Poker Face, by Lady GaGa, I just wanted to let you know that it has actually reached a peak position of #8

Here is my source

http://acharts.us/song/37371

Scroll down to the Italy Top 50 Singles and it states that it hit the top 10.

Sorry for being a bother, but I'm a huge fan of hers and I want everyone to know that this song has been a big hit around the world. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.104.8.40 (talk) 22:54, 25 March 2009 (UTC)

Take a look at WP:GOODCHARTS. The Italian chart in acharts.us is not reliable for adding updates. Cheers--Legolas (talktome) 03:19, 26 March 2009 (UTC)

Reply:La Isla Bonita

hi Real. I nominated La Isla Bonita for GA. Please take a look. By the way what about that Madonna wikiproject? Are we still starting it? --Legolas (talktome) 13:23, 24 March 2009 (UTC)

It seems like a good article and will probably pass GA. I'm currently going through something of a Wikibreak, just checking my watchlist twice a day. — R2 13:33, 24 March 2009 (UTC)
Hmmm. I wish you would add the Gaga singles also on your watchlist. I want them for GA also. P.S. Which are your favourite Madonna songs? After "La Isla Bonita" I will be working on "Open Your Heart" and "True Blue". Then, since the True Blue era will be moved to GA, I will move on to the "Bedtime Stories" era - one of my favourite. Will you help me out then? --Legolas (talktome) 08:07, 25 March 2009 (UTC)
I seriously can't handle the work load at the minute, the Britney Spears new singles/album is time consuming enough. My favorite Madonna songs include "Rain", "In This Life", "The Power of Goodbye", "Get Together", "Take A Bow", "Frozen", and "Drowned World". — R2 14:18, 25 March 2009 (UTC)
I also have the Britney album and singles on my watchlist and im helping as much as i can. I have over 100 pages on my watchlist. Yeah I know it gets tiring sometimes to revert. Well I have started working on "Open your Heart" and "True Blue". La Isla Bonita nd Live to Tell will easily pass GA, and Papa Don't Preach is in a position to be moved to FAC, which i say it will get it. Anyways you are one of the contributors i look up for advice. Hope you will be advicing me further. I would have started the Madonna wikiproject myself but I don't know how to. Lets see, maybe in future. I still have too much work regarding the Gaga articles esp Poker FAce and the discography page. IPs are driving me mad!!! even using TW sometimes fail. I think I'll request for protection. P.S. that Dance-pop sockpuppet has been blocked again so I think a bit of relief now. --Legolas (talktome) 05:30, 26 March 2009 (UTC)

Open Your Heart

I'll see what I can do tomorrow night. :) CarpetCrawler (talk) 00:50, 27 March 2009 (UTC)

Hello there! I tried today, and didn't find much luck. I found reviews of the song, but I don't know if you're interested in more additions to the critical reception or not. My local thrift shop ALWAYS has a ton of sheet music type books, and I looked through those and found nothing. "Like a Prayer" was in one of them, but I don't think anyone is working on that one right now, and I can't guarantee it will be in there when I take another visit. However, I wouldn't say that the article will fail badly without it. Articles have passed the GA review before without it. For example, "Say Say Say" recently passed. I am a good article reviewer, I can guarantee the article would not fail, especially with the incredible amount of information that you have on it. :) Have a great day! CarpetCrawler (talk) 04:51, 28 March 2009 (UTC)
Check the message I sent you before this one (I think you couldn't see it at first because the user below accidentally put their message under mine!) :) CarpetCrawler (talk) 05:11, 28 March 2009 (UTC)
OK, I'll go back in my archives and hunts and find the article some reception info. :) Also, I'll return to the thrift shop sometime next week and see if the sheet book is still there. If it's there, I'll set up my scanner and send you an e-mail with scans. :) Also, giving out barnstars is easy (And fun,) when you learn how to do it. Click here!) :) Have a great day! CarpetCrawler (talk) 05:22, 28 March 2009 (UTC)
While looking for reviews, I found an interesting article about the music video, which even has the writer's critical response to the video. I thought you'd might want to take a look at what's in the article. :) here's the link. Hope you found something good to add in there! I'll check back in a little bit and add some more to the critical reception section. CarpetCrawler (talk) 05:54, 28 March 2009 (UTC)
Make that TWO articles. Here's a great article on how some video channels banned its music video. check this link, and the one above. I hope they help! I'm still finding review stuff. :) CarpetCrawler (talk) 06:02, 28 March 2009 (UTC)
Sorry for leaving a ton of messages, but while looking for critical reception info for OYH, I found a piece of reception for "La Isla Bonita," which I've added. I hope you check out the two links above this message! CarpetCrawler (talk) 06:07, 28 March 2009 (UTC)
Last message for now. I'll be ready and add my info by later today (It's 2:30 A.M. right now here.) CarpetCrawler (talk) 06:29, 28 March 2009 (UTC)

(Outdent)Woooooooo. Thanks again for everything!!!! So much info!!!!! I'm literally jumping on my bed now!!! I was taking my bath. I'll use all of them, quite good they are. You take a nice sleep. Its 12 .30 pm here. --Legolas (talktome) 07:04, 28 March 2009 (UTC)

I'm still up, just fiddling around until I get tired. ;) Right now I'm taking a look at the "I Go to Extremes" article I worked on extensively today, and looking for anything else I could add. CarpetCrawler (talk) 07:07, 28 March 2009 (UTC)
It looks GREAT! I went and added an extra review, one by Robert Christgau, but other than that, you did an EXCELLENT job! :) I apologize for the lateness in getting to work on it, the campus research servers were on the fritz for the past few days. :( CarpetCrawler (talk) 18:53, 30 March 2009 (UTC)
Don't worry. I can't thank enough for what you have done. In the meantime Frcm1988 has started work on the True Blue article in his sandbox. Take a look. We are kinda short on the background of the song. Rest I'll take care. I'll be working on the "True Blue" album now. Let's finish of the true blue era and then I'll move on to.... well I don't know where I'll go. :) --Legolas (talktome) 03:14, 31 March 2009 (UTC)

(Outdent) Just fine. I envy how complete your articles are. With all the help from those books. Anyway, regarding its being on GAN, I randomly spotted some unreliable sources like discogs, although the content it supports isn't contentious. I think the "by"s in the credit section could be removed. And I am worried of the photo File:Openwourheartwhosthatgirl.jpg, you know, WP:NFCC #8 thing. Overall, its passable. --Efe (talk) 04:25, 31 March 2009 (UTC)

He he. Thanks for your help. I'll remove the by's. About the pic, well since it is being discussed in the tour section and enhances the understanding by giving a visual addition of the costume worn especially for the performance, do you think it will still fail WP:NFCC#8. I understnad your concern cause nowadays Stifle and the crew are somewhat on a madness for tagging images. --Legolas (talktome) 04:31, 31 March 2009 (UTC)
As long as it adds visual understanding, and the rationale on the image's page should be strong. Yes. I got tons of notifications from Stifle, but I understand. BTW, I took the liberty of doing some minor fixes on the article. =) --Efe (talk) 04:37, 31 March 2009 (UTC)
Ya, I just saw it. Thanks again. --Legolas (talktome) 04:44, 31 March 2009 (UTC)
Welcome my dear. BTW, if you have plans to watch Beyonce's concert in the US (pretty sure cameras are allowed), please do take pictures. Hehe. Thanks. --Efe (talk) 04:50, 31 March 2009 (UTC)
I'm back in India now. But don't worry, my sis is going to the I Am.. tour. --Legolas (talktome) 04:58, 31 March 2009 (UTC)
Wooooooooooo! How nice. Please extend my advance thank you to her. =) --Efe (talk) 05:01, 31 March 2009 (UTC)

(Outdent) Well I had to come back since my BF fell sick (chicken-pox, Damn It). My sis knows about me working on WP day and night. She thinks I'm crazy and gonna ruin my eyesight. :) But nevertheless, she loves going to tours and will go to B's tour also. My only regret of my stay in US is I missed Madonna's Sticky & Sweet tour. :( Anyways I'll forward your thank to her. He he. --Legolas (talktome) 05:16, 31 March 2009 (UTC)

Poker Face revert

Hey, I don't mind you reverting my edits, please feel free as long as you have a reason to do so :) Why did you revert my edit to Poker Face? Child Funk (talk) 22:11, 27 March 2009 (UTC)

Reason is you added an original research without a citation. --Legolas (talktome) 04:54, 28 March 2009 (UTC)
Ok, well that's fine. Fair enough but it actually was the most succesfull song in that country in the year 2008. It tied with "I Kissed A Girl" by Katy Perry in 2008 with 6 weeks at number one each but then Poker Face was #1 for the first 2 weeks in 2009 resulting in 8 Weeks at number one.
