True Blue

Yes I know, its just that I have the time for a few days, and I thought well let's finished with this album, it would be interesting to have a good or even a featured topic about the True Blue era, we only need to improve the album's article. I probably will do "Who's That Girl" after this one, since another user is alredy gathering information about "Heart of Glass", the song that I wanted to do :( . That's why I decided to finish this project. Hope you didn't mind it. Frcm1988 (talk) 03:24, 30 March 2009 (UTC)

Not at all. The more help I get for Madonna songs, more the better. And congrats for Live to Tell. I told you it will pass. I'm keeping fingers crossed for "La Isla Bonita". In the meantime I'll help you with the song and writing part for "True Blue". Is that fine? --Legolas (talktome) 03:27, 30 March 2009 (UTC)
Ok that will be perfect, because what is still missing is the background, I don't know something about the recording, writing or inspiration, maybe in some of the books. I really couldn't find info about it, since I alredy previewed most of the books for the other articles, I can't see the other pages, I don't know if there is a way to reset that and watch new pages. The good thing is that I alredy have really good and interesting information about the composition. Frcm1988 (talk) 03:38, 30 March 2009 (UTC)
One comment I have for "La Isla Bonita", in the music video section maybe you should add the information about the director, producer, etc. to the prose, it kinda breaks the flow of the article, because is in the middle of two big sections. Frcm1988 (talk) 03:42, 30 March 2009 (UTC)
Ohh I have info for the background of the song. I'll add it. The La Isla Bnita music video section, I removed the producers etc. names, anyways I don't have ref for the producer etc. Thanks for your comments. --Legolas (talktome) 03:52, 30 March 2009 (UTC)
Oh I used this: Madonna. (1990). The Immaculate Collection [VHS]. Warner Music Vision. Just copy this between the ref tags: cite video|people=Madonna|title=The Immaculate Collection|medium= VHS|publisher=Warner Music Vision|year2=1990 I actually don't have the video but Im pretty sure the credits appear, at least the director, producer and the photography. But it's up to you if you want to put this in the article, I don't think is absolutely neccesary. Frcm1988 (talk) 04:04, 30 March 2009 (UTC)
Ya me too. Its not that necessary. --Legolas (talktome) 04:18, 30 March 2009 (UTC)

I do have that one, but about the background it only says that the title comes from Sean Penn's favorite saying. Frcm1988 (talk) 05:10, 30 March 2009 (UTC)

You can include about the homage to early sixties girl group pop. In the meantime I'll find out more. I think there was some info regarding the use of teh word dear in the song. --Legolas (talktome) 05:12, 30 March 2009 (UTC)
Yes the info is in the book Rock 'n' Roll Gold Rush by Maury Dean, but the content is mostly about the composition. I will keep trying to look for that info tomorrow, Im going to sleep now. See you tomorrow. Happy editing. Frcm1988 (talk) 05:19, 30 March 2009 (UTC)
You can do it now, Im going to upload a new version of the sample, and then go to sleep. Happy editing. Frcm1988 (talk) 05:57, 31 March 2009 (UTC)
Hi, just to tell you that I read the music video section, and the book Gender Politics and MTV, they are highly similar. You have to watch out for copyvio, a rewrite or research for more sources that have the same info is necessary. Otherwise the information could be deleted. I will change the information later, just be sure that the content of the other articles don't have the same problem. Frcm1988 (talk) 04:51, 1 April 2009 (UTC)
Hi Legolas, I see that you nominated "True Blue" for GA, I believe this is a little premature, plus the backlog in the GAN is really high. Well I don't have the time right now to copy-edit it, but I will left you my concerns about the article:
  • The notes need to be consisting, you only have to put the last name, not the first one. Also some of them need the book's year.
  • For the online sources, you have for example Lyndsey Parker as the author, it should be Parker, Lyndsay. The dates need to be equal; so instead of putting November 03, 1986, change it to 1986-11-03. Some of the publishers are incorrect too, for example Time magazine is the work, but the publisher is "Time Warner" not www.time.com.
  • The music video section, need a copy-edit, and some wikilinks, also the cover versions is too short, if there aren't enough notable covers the section should be removed.
  • In the music video section I think another image should be in there instead of that one. You can't even see all of Madonna's face. I believe a picture when she is laying down on the car, with the back-up singers behind her would be better, because it shows Madonna's look, it shows her friends in the back, the blue background and the 1950s theme.
  • The writing and inspiration section also need a copy-edit. It mentions Sean Penn four times in two lines, and there are some errors like Steve Bray's name.
  • The lead also needs a revision. What does The main chrorus is backed by an alternate one with a doo-wop type chord progression means. Also "international success" is a little POV.

I would do it myself, but I don't have the time right know. Hope you can make the changes before someone review the article. Regards. Frcm1988 (talk) 05:47, 4 April 2009 (UTC)

Reply to Clarification

Hey! To be honest, it was just a random moment of thought. I use the name IAmColonel (another random moment) for forums and stuff, and get called "IAC". And my real name begins with K, so i just combined it. So no real meaning, just an abbreviation really. I see you've hitched a ride on the LotR wagon, nice :) k-i-a-c (hitmeup - the past) 10:34, 31 March 2009 (UTC)

True Blue so far

Oooh, great work so far! :) I'll see what I can do. I'll sneak around for interviews regarding the background of the song. :) And cool that you're going to work on the album, as well! With how much great information you have put into the articles about the album's songs, it should be very easy to do! :) And the "Like a Virgin" era should be interesting, you'll have a ton of fun finding hilarious articles that overreact to the songs she released on the album. ;) One day I may try my hand at editing the "Lucky Star" article (That's my favorite Madonna song!) but for now I'll stick to helping everyone else out, while still working on getting No Jacket Required ready for a featured article review. :) Have a good one! CarpetCrawler (talk) 18:27, 31 March 2009 (UTC)

Barnstar

  The Tireless Contributor Barnstar
For your incredible work on pages regarding singles by Madonna, I award you this barnstar. Keep up the incredible work! CarpetCrawler (talk) 03:45, 1 April 2009 (UTC)
Wooooooooooooo. Thanks Carpet. My first Barnstar!!!!! I'm so happy. Love u. --Legolas (talktome) 03:48, 1 April 2009 (UTC)
No problem. :) Keep up the fantastic work! CarpetCrawler (talk) 03:50, 1 April 2009 (UTC)

Congrats

Im a changin my third eye. I also love curry and currymunchers. Congrats. on the barnstar. I saw some of your edits. Well done.I am Rorschach (talk) 04:21, 1 April 2009 (UTC)

Thanks but I believe I haven't acquianted you anywhere. Correct me if I'm wrong.--Legolas (talktome) 04:40, 1 April 2009 (UTC)
No, but I have seen you everywhere on the madonna and lady gaga articles. You do deserve it. Could you please help me on this site. I'm quite new so don't know much. I was about to leave this site and never come back.I am Rorschach (talk) 04:36, 1 April 2009 (UTC)
No probs. Always welcome to ask for help. --Legolas (talktome) 04:40, 1 April 2009 (UTC)

No Jacket Required

Hey there! Thanks for the note. :) I will look at your concern when I work on the things Realist2 had asked me to do. I'm quite honestly tempted to just remove the damn thing, because no matter where I put it (And believe me, I spent a good 20 minutes figuring out where to put the thing...) it always interrupts the flow. I'm going to ask Realist2 if it matters all that much if I remove it, since it's in the "Sussudio" article anyway. Have a good one! :) CarpetCrawler (talk) 05:43, 1 April 2009 (UTC)

I always believe that music samples should be in the single pages, not in the album page and I follow that policy with my edits. So I think if its there in "Sussudio" no need to have it in the NJR article. PS, I don't know why but La Isla Bonita is still unlooked at GAN. :-( --Legolas (talktome) 05:48, 1 April 2009 (UTC)
OK, I'll go ahead and do that when I edit the article. :) And I know why it's taking so long: unfortunately, the Wiki GAN page ALWAYS has a huge backlog. Right now, there are 215 articles in that page that still have yet to be reviewed, and there's an article from February that still hasn't had a review! The big problem is that there are more people nominating articles than there are reviewing. I myself review articles, and it's an incredibly long process. If you wait patiently, you will get your review. It took 11 days for someone to review No Jacket Required, but almost a month for someone to review "Captain Jack (song)" and 3X3. The guys over there are ALWAYS looking for volunteers to even take some time out to review even just one article. The problem is that to review an article takes a LOT of time, as you have to check the verifiability of sources, read the prose, see if anything is sloppy, check to see if all images qualify for fair use, see if there is enough information, and more. I personally find it fun, but I can see where people would feel exhausted, and even I can't do a ton per day. The most I can do is two per day, and usually I do just one. So basically, just wait patiently and someone will review your article! :) CarpetCrawler (talk) 05:57, 1 April 2009 (UTC)
Oh, and I added a second reception section to the True Blue page. :) CarpetCrawler (talk) 21:13, 1 April 2009 (UTC)

edit summaries

Could I persuade you to use a different edit summary for the first-time insertion of a bad chart? Most of the first time insertions are good-faith mistakes from people that don't know the chart is on WP:BADCHARTS, so an edit summary of "revert vandalism" isn't appropriate. I just use an edit summary of "WP:BADCHARTS", because that provides the guideline. If I use rollback or a bare undo, I go over to the talk page and leave a message. User talk:201.209.224.71 shows the list I go through. You don't have to get that fancy, but please at least leave a WP:BADCHARTS link in the edit summary. If you don't do that, a good-faith newbie has no idea why you are removing his edit.—Kww(talk) 11:43, 1 April 2009 (UTC)

I will keep that in mind. --Legolas (talktome) 03:37, 2 April 2009 (UTC)

Open Your Heart

File:Openwourheartwhosthatgirl.jpg This isn't "Open Your Heart". Alecsdaniel (talk) 14:34, 1 April 2009 (UTC)

Ohh is it? Probably my mistake then. --Legolas (talktome) 03:37, 2 April 2009 (UTC)
You should upload other picture, and delete this one, don't you think? :-) Alecsdaniel (talk) 07:36, 2 April 2009 (UTC)
I guess so. But I cannot delete, I'm not an admin. --Legolas (talktome) 08:02, 2 April 2009 (UTC)
I'm sure you can find one around here to do that. Stifle for example. Alecsdaniel (talk) 08:44, 2 April 2009 (UTC)

All Through the Night (Cyndi Lauper song)

Hi there! I hope you saw my edits to the True Blue page. :) I'm in the process of working on editing the song, "All Through the Night" by Cyndi Lauper, in my sandbox. I'm not good at finding references to charts. Would you be able to help me out in finding sources for all of the chart data in the article? Check out this link right here, which has what I've worked on so far. If you don't have the time to do so, don't worry about it. :) Have a good one! :) CarpetCrawler (talk) 04:39, 2 April 2009 (UTC)

Hey I saw your addition to True Blue. Its so good. Also I'll definitely help you out with the Cyndi Lauper song, one of my old favourites along with Time After Time. You can also check out hte referencs i have been using for the madonna pages. Cyndi's songs will be there in the same references. --Legolas (talktome) 04:45, 2 April 2009 (UTC)
I LOVE "Time After Time"!! :) For some odd reason some Madonna fans hate Cyndi, and vice-versa. I never understood that, do you? :-/. Actually, I am a big fan of BOTH singers, so I guess I must be weird or something. :P But anyway, I would appreciate ANY help! There is an unsourced statement about her music video that I left in there, because I would certainly love to cite it. I am pretty much looking for anything that anyone can add. :) I think it's so cool that thhere's a small list of people working on articles of musicians from this time period. :) Have a good one! Also, I'm trying to review articles older than "La Isla Bonita", so that it can move up the list. :) CarpetCrawler (talk) 04:50, 2 April 2009 (UTC)
I'm a big fan of both but bigger maybe for Madonna. I was born 85, time when both of them rose like phoenix. That's why I thought Madonna articles needed special attention and thought of developing them. I should thank both you and Frcm1988 for teaching me good editing for GA. I'll help you out. I'm good at finding info from books. --Legolas (talktome) 05:00, 2 April 2009 (UTC)
Yeah, the 80's were wonderful for both of them! The 90's for Cyndi though... not so good for the poor gal. :( I'm glad Cyndi's finally found her niche, though. Her two latest singles "Same Ol' Story" and "Into the Nightlife" (Which I LOVE!) were number one hits on the Billboard dance charts! And I agree that Madonna's articles need special attention, I feel the same way for a lot of artists! There are too many legendary artists, like Madonna, Phil Collins, Peter Gabriel, Cyndi Lauper, Huey Lewis and the News, and others, that had stub articles before I joined up Wikipedia. I've been doing everything I can to even get some of these articles to start or C class, and am so happy others are finally doing the same. :) It's a long process, but to me it's worth it in the end. I mean, the music section of Wikipedia to me was the one section that had the least quality articles. SO glad that's changing. :) Thank you for your help, I appreciate any help I can get! :) Don't look in Maury Dean's book, though. I know he didn't write anythin about "All Through the Night". Well, he did, but not in the book. He was my professor last semester (What a kind sweet man. :)) and one of our papers was our ten greatest songs of all time (Hardest assignment EVER!) He said that the song was a "gorgeous hymn ballad," on the paper, but I doubt you can cite a student's paper. :( All well. Have a great one and thank you for any help you can give me! :) CarpetCrawler (talk) 05:22, 2 April 2009 (UTC)
He he. no, we definitely cannot use a student's paper. So that means you are a student right? What are you studying? I miss my college days :( Well I studied Chemical Engineering and atpresent in IT. PS I'll definitely find out something for the song. Don't worry. --Legolas (talktome) 05:26, 2 April 2009 (UTC)
Yep, I'm a student. :) It's what gives me the great resources that I have to research for articles! My campus library has a full archive of Newsday articles, which was a lifesaver for the No Jacket Required article. Actually, I am doing my best to sign up for Maury Dean's "History of Rock & Roll" course that he teaches on this campus. I had him for Mass Media, which was a tamer version of his History of R&R course, so I will be SO excited if I can get in! I am currently majoring in Journalism, but in the fall I am doing what I should have done originally, and changing that major to Psychology, and I'm minoring in IT (Cool, just like you! :D). I love college, it's fun. :) And great, as you know, I would appreciate anything you can add to the article! :) Thank you so much! CarpetCrawler (talk) 05:43, 2 April 2009 (UTC)
Frcm found references for the charts, so you don't need to research for that. However, I am looking for ANYTHING, especially things about the song. :) Have a good one (It's 3:30 A.M. there?! It's 6:30 P.M here!) CarpetCrawler (talk) 22:29, 2 April 2009 (UTC)

(Outdent)Ohh OK. Then I'll add some info regarding the Writing and inspiration of the song. Its 5.15 pm here now.--Legolas (talktome) 11:45, 3 April 2009 (UTC)

OMG!! Thank you so much for your wonderful addition! The article is looking so much better now! :) And why the long face, True Blue is a great album! :) CarpetCrawler (talk) 03:38, 4 April 2009 (UTC)
Well I am not feeling that well today and haven't been able to develop the last few days, hence the long face. If I'm able to then today i'll add about the music video. Sorry for the delay. --Legolas (talktome) 03:42, 4 April 2009 (UTC)
Aw, you poor thing. :( I hope you get better! And do NOT apologize for anything! Feel free to take as much time as you need. I am in no hurry. :) CarpetCrawler (talk) 03:45, 4 April 2009 (UTC)

Lady Gaga

Maybe you think you are Mr. Wikipedia, or that this is your personal page or something, but it is not. It's not YOU who judges which countries are more important than others. In fact, I gave you a link where you can see that Spain is a bigger market than Ireland, New Zealand, etc... If you can't read it's not my problem. If you keep removing things and acting as if this was your personal blog, it will be me who will write to an administrator so that YOU will be blocked. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 88.11.46.0 (talk) 15:26, 2 April 2009 (UTC)

I reeeeeeeeaaaaaaaallllllllllllyyy don't care. I already stated reasons at the talk page. --Legolas (talktome) 15:53, 2 April 2009 (UTC)

Feel better!

 :) CarpetCrawler (talk) 05:43, 4 April 2009 (UTC)

Wow. Thanks man!! --Legolas (talktome) 05:52, 4 April 2009 (UTC)
No problem. :) I hope you noticed Frcm's comments about the recent article you nominated for GA. I know you can fix those concerns in no time. :) CarpetCrawler (talk) 05:54, 4 April 2009 (UTC)
Oh, no, I know that. :) I meant that Frcm just a about a half an hour ago sent you a message with a list of concerns they had. I hope you saw them so that you can fix those concerns. In fact, if you need any help I can lend a hand! :) CarpetCrawler (talk) 06:19, 4 April 2009 (UTC)
Oops! Somehow I missed it. I will make it better don't worry. --Legolas (talktome) 06:28, 4 April 2009 (UTC)
Glad you're feeling better. :) Other than that, how have you been? CarpetCrawler (talk) 22:05, 6 April 2009 (UTC)
Was really not well. Now that I've come back I'll be editing more. But somehow I'm stuck at the True Blue album :(. Can;t find enough concrete information for hte developemnt. Oh well lets hope for the best. --Legolas (talk2me) 05:28, 7 April 2009 (UTC)

(Outdent) One thing you could try is to add information from the articles about the singles, into the main album article. That can help the article out. Unfortunately, it's not that easy for songs that were not released as singles. Unless they're very famous, there's probably not much information available. It was a pain to do the same thing for No Jacket Required. I was lucky that Phil Collins had posted on his website's message board, where he answered questions from the fans, and a lot of his songs on the album were discussed by him. That's a problem with Wikipedia, they expect every album article to have a TON of information, when it's not that easy. Not enough wiki reviewers giving the benefit of the doubt. Anyway, I think you should try adding info about the singles into the article. Like composition, the history, the music videos, and such. Not a complete copy-paste job, but enough info to "beef up" the article, if you know what I mean. Have a good one, and I'll take a look at the article in a little while. :) CarpetCrawler (talk) 05:50, 7 April 2009 (UTC)

Thanks Carpet. I did beef it up a little bit. Could you check it out a little? Its in my sandbox. Then you can tell me what else is missing, I still have to add Chart performance though, I will ask Frcm to help me out for that. He's good with charts. Also info related to the music videos I'll add it in the singles section. That will expand that also. Let me know sweeets~ :) --Legolas (talk2me) 03:44, 8 April 2009 (UTC)
OK, I'll take a closer look at the article later today. Sorry for not being around much today, I'm having a bit of a crummy day. :( I'll check it out as soon as possible! CarpetCrawler (talk) 10:59, 8 April 2009 (UTC)
Crummy day?? Wooo. What happened? Even I'm having a crummy day too here on WP. Some user is hell bent on trolling me. --Legolas (talk2me) 11:04, 8 April 2009 (UTC)
Ooooh, I wish it was that easy, hon. There's a chica I'm crazy for, and she won't give me the time of day. :( So I've been sitting around reading and thinking of how the heck I'm going to tell her how I feel, and if I even should. It's a long story, we've been friends for awhile... Hope all is well with you in the relationship department. :) CarpetCrawler (talk) 11:10, 8 April 2009 (UTC)
Normally I would prefer staying single, but to me this girl is wonderful. :) And I saw your meditation case... all anyone has to do is look at the user MoovieStarz' page, and see that the user has gone through this conflict multiple times before, and has ALSO accused those users of personal attacks as well. CarpetCrawler (talk) 11:18, 8 April 2009 (UTC)
I know, it's very frustrating (And that is really cheap, the user only told that person because you had sent them a warning on their talkpage)! Just don't worry, though. Stay cool and civil, and don't resort to personal attacks or hostility, as YOU may be the one to get banned! :( Just make sure to keep a cool head, and someone will take a look and make the correct call. :) CarpetCrawler (talk) 11:23, 8 April 2009 (UTC)

(Outdent)Yeah, sockpuppets annoy me so much. The worst are the meatpuppets, the ones that are that to only pad votes. It's like, if they want to be on Wiki so badly, they should follow the rules like everyone else! Thanks, I am hoping I will too. Both her and I have a ton of things in common, but I guess I need to stop dropping hints to her. :P And cool! How did you like the US? :) I live in New York. CarpetCrawler (talk) 11:34, 8 April 2009 (UTC)

Ooooohhh! That sounds like fun! :) And I am now in love with the Lal Bagh Glass House! I love New York City. I am literally like an hour train ride from there. It's so much fun to just be there! And Bangalore looks GORGEOUS!!! :) Love that lake, too. And yes, True Colors, what a beautiful song! :) Cyndi has such gorgeous vocal chords. She gives me goosebumps when she says "So don't be AFRAID!!!" at the end. Holy moly! CarpetCrawler (talk) 11:45, 8 April 2009 (UTC)
Glad you like it. Actually I'm from Calcutta but at present stay in Bangalore for my job. Miss my family badly. I haven't been able to edit properly my "True Blue" project because of that stupid user and his stupid comments. You should see the number of people he's canvassing like Love.Game, Child Funk and Ninjachucks not to mention a complete disregard for the policies which make up Wikipedia. It's so pathetic man! Anyways did you have the time to take a look. When I was in New York I stayed at 51st street MAnhattan, the Crumpet. It was so much fun. Met an awesome chick there! By the way what happened btw you and your Chica???   --Legolas (talk2me) 04:55, 9 April 2009 (UTC)
Ooooh, I am in love with the Vidyasagar Setu bridge picture! That bridge looks gorgeous! :) If I were you, I'd do my best to stay civil, and ignore the user if they decide to turn it into a petty bicker fight, which is what it looks like they're doing. I'm going to take a look at the "True Blue" album article right after I finish sending you this message. :) Sorry for not being around for a day or so, I've been busy! You were one street away from being in one of my favorite Billy Joel albums. :P RE: the girl. I sent her a Facebook message about how she was doing, and got no response. :( This was a few days ago, though, and sometimes she doesn't respond, so maybe she just forgot. I don't get to see her much in person, since we have hectic schedules! :( Right now I'm too shy to tell her anything, because she just broke up with her ex, and I don't want to seem like I'm trying to jump onto her... :-/ CarpetCrawler (talk) 20:32, 9 April 2009 (UTC)
UPDATE. I checked out the article. It's looking good! However, the two quotes that are in one quotebox need to be separated into two boxes, and the "Jimmy Jimmy" one should be moved into the section that talks about it more. I also see some references I'm iffy about. For example, there's a reference to a Los Angeles Times article, but the citation doesn't have the title of the article. I could look for it for you, if you want. :) Content-wise it's looking good, and a few more extensions will make the sections look nice! As of right now it looks good, but just needs some adjustments and extensions. Also, were there any non-album B-sides? CarpetCrawler (talk) 20:42, 9 April 2009 (UTC)
Thanks for looking. But I'm seriously stuck at the charts section. :( Glad you liked Vidyasagar setu:) Me and my friends sometimes used to go there during the sunset and just laze around on a boat on the river. And about 52nd street. One of my favourites. "True Blue" I'll develop further keeping your advice in mind. thanks again. --Legolas (talk2me) 04:45, 10 April 2009 (UTC)
No problem, I'll take another look in a little while. :) And the good news about the chart section is that Frcm sent you a message saying that he will look at it and work on it! :) Yeah, the chart section can be a pain, especially international charts! Maybe Madonna's website can help you there? Phil Collins' website has chart info for the US and UK, which helped me out for his stuff. And I absolutely love Billy Joel. :) One of my favorites of all time. I wish he'd make an album of new material! And lazing around sounds like fun. :) We'll go there if I ever visit you! :) No problem about the article advice, like I said I'll take a look at it. Have a great day! And look at my pretty new signature! :) CarpetCrawlermessage me 04:58, 10 April 2009 (UTC)

(Outdent)It's so cool man!!!! Ya I saw Frcm's message. By the way did you see the comments I got at my editor review? I'm so glad. --Legolas (talk2me) 05:08, 10 April 2009 (UTC)

Yeah, I saw the comments. :) Good to see you being appreciated! I myself believe that we need less wiki users who only sit around resolving conflicts and banning users, and more wiki users who provide content, so I disagree with what the user said about your participating in other places. Then again, that's just my opinion. :) I don't want to be an Adminstrator all that badly, myself, unless they were to overhaul it completely, and focus more on providing content instead of handing out warns and bans. Have a good one, sweetie! :) CarpetCrawlermessage me 05:21, 10 April 2009 (UTC)
The onlyreason I'll wanna be an admin is to teach proper education to people who vandalise or add unsourced statements, and also the drama queens and abusers. Oooo I would love that. I'll try Rfa but not now, I think my edits are too less and I still need to brush up more policies. Efe is a good example of being a good admin as well as a wonderful contributor. Hope he's enjoying his holiday. --Legolas (talk2me) 05:28, 10 April 2009 (UTC)
Haha, yes that is very tempting! :) Yeah, I'd wait too if I were you. They like people that participate in every aspect of Wikipedia, and unfortunately content is one of the least important things about becoming an adminstrator. And Efe is a wonderful example, and has done incredible work on many music articles! As have you. :) CarpetCrawlermessage me 05:46, 10 April 2009 (UTC)
Oh, and also, are you going to do anymore editing of "All Through the Night" in my sandbox? If not, I'll put what's in the sandbox into the actual article, and maybe possibly I'll nominate it for GA, although it might not have enough information yet. Live Performances - LoveGame

Great work! The article is coming along well together now! Very clever idea to add the ban that Network Ten made to the music video. It sure does juice up the page and adds a little controversy! As you said, now we need to add live performances. I will take further look into the structure and formatting of La Isla Bonita's "Live Performance" section.

As far as I know, she has performed LoveGame on the MTV Sessions UK along with her other singles: Just Dance, Poker Face, Beautiful Dirty Rich and also at AOL Sessions. Obviously, she would of performed it at The Fame Ball Tour. Child Funk (talk) 22:35, 7 April 2009 (UTC)

Lady Gaga - Discography

  • I do believe that both of you have your points. The term "discography" has the given meaning of being a descriptive catalog of musical recordings. I believe that certifications don't necessarily associate with discography, therefore you are correct.
  • So your argument is that the certifications/music sales should not be included on Lady Gaga's discography page where as Mooviestarz thinks that they should be right? Correct me if i'm wrong because I may have incorrectly interpreted the discussion on the talk page.
  • Mooviestarz however isn't bad mouthing you, he just feels strongly about the issue raised and wants his view points to get across to you. Obviously, he simply feels frustrated.
My argument is certification should be included but only the major markets, however User:Mooviestarz instead is stating all possible charts and certifications should be included which I must say fails WP:FANCRUFT. If you notice I only added the major markets and told the others to add the certifications to the singles pages. If they expect me to beg them and tell, sorry I won't. I don't entertain forum like conversations in Wikipedia and if necessary I'll raise ANI. It's not my fault that he's frustrated that he'll start bad mouthing me saying "See guys! He owns the page" or "Ohh don't you know Saint Legolas". I won't tolerate such comments. --Legolas (talk2me) 06:16, 8 April 2009 (UTC)

Ok, I see. So I can look further into the issue:

  • What music markets would you consider major?
  • Why would you consider the markets you have chosen to be major?
  • What extra music markets has Mooviestarz inputed into the article that you consider not to be major?

If you can answer those questions, i'll review each and give you my personal opinion on issue.

Child Funk (talk) 06:26, 8 April 2009 (UTC)

Well US, UK, Aus, Can, Ger are the five major music markets. I consider them because IFPI publishes such statistics. What Mooviestarz wants is to put all the countries and certifications. --Legolas (talk2me) 06:30, 8 April 2009 (UTC)
Ok, well I supose you are very correct but it's a little unfair to the other countries don't you think? We need equality as we can't be bias and favour the 5 major music markets while excluding the smaller ones. Wikipedia is visited by many globaly yet the discography page only appeals to those living in the 5 out of nearly 200 countries in the world. I'm really confused. I see where your coming from but then I see what Mooviestarz is also trying to convey. childfunk. (chat) 07:07, 8 April 2009 (UTC)
Just to clarify - where exactly does it say in WP policies/guidelines/previous FLCs, that only the top 5 music markets should be published? Yes, they are more notable, but they aren't the only countries with notable charts, etc. As long as there is a reliable source, there shouldn't be a problem with including it. k-i-a-c (hitmeup - the past) 07:29, 8 April 2009 (UTC)
Thanks for your comments. We don't want only the 5 major music markets. But since it is a discography page and will include every single and albums the artist has released, hence don't you think it will clutter the page if we include all the countries and certifications? For the particular single page it is fine but to include all of them in the disco page will indeed be overaddition. Thats what I meant. Even we reached a consensus that 10 major countries are to be listed but for certiifcations I said 5 major. --Legolas (talk2me) 07:42, 8 April 2009 (UTC)
Great! I see what you meant. It would be cluttered as Lady Gaga has achieved major internatioanl sucess now. As you said, we can put additional certifications on the actual articles for each of those singles released acheiving high sucess! childfunk. (chat) 08:06, 8 April 2009 (UTC)
I understand that you don't want the page to be cluttered, however i do not believe that you should go to such lengths to restrict the amount of charts. Having more charts and/or certifications is only to going to do the artist's success more justice. 10 is really a minimal number, there is nothing wrong with having 15-20 really, it doesn't impede. You just need to compromise with the other editors, go through one by one and make a unananimous decision. As for the certifications, it probably depends on where you decide to put them, if they stay in the singles table as they are now, you're going to struggle to put more than 2 down for each song (which really isn't doing justice to the success of "Poker Face" or "Just Dance", I wouldn't have thought anyway). k-i-a-c (hitmeup - the past) 08:23, 8 April 2009 (UTC)
Even I understood what you mean, but we already reached a consensus that we will be using 10 countries in the country list as stated by a previous discussion above. However as you must have noticed, instead of discussing this issue one user started bad mouthing me and Wikipedia. That really annoyed me. If this continues I plan to go to ANI. This kind of behaviour needs to stop. As for the certifications, I don't care how many they put, but the thing is that each and every time, wrong or non-permanent or bad references are being put, which I have removed. Therein lies all their angst against me.*shrug* --Legolas (talk2me) 08:28, 8 April 2009 (UTC)
Thanks. I have been experimenting and have finally gained the knowledge to actually create a signature using html :) childfunk.(chat) 09:20, 8 April 2009 (UTC)

Just want to thank the people on this page as they seem to understand what I and others have been trying to say. The problem as is evident from what is said above is that Legolas just doesn't bother reading what I have written or just doesn't seem to understand what I have written. It is obvious from numerous comments that you really haven't read anything I have said. Maybe I needed to clarify my position. But it seems that people like Childfunk seem to understand the ideas I am trying to convey, so it begs the question, why can't you. It was stated that we didn't have good German charts to go by. So I offered 3 that I have saved. Two of those are actually the same chart. I then am told that they aren't good charts, without any reason why. So I asked why they weren't considered good charts and I get told to take the discussion elsewhere. I offer a suggestion that we limit the countries on the discography page, but give a full listing of available peak positions on the pages for those songs. I did not suggest that the certifications not be on the discography page. I just suggested that they should be listed below the singles and not be listed in with them. It makes the chart look cluttered and messy. This way they take up less space and the lay out for the chart looks more professional. I and others again are given an attitude for making any suggestion. Legolas, I don't want to argue with you and I don't think anyone else does either. Just take the time to understand what I and other have written. If you are not sure you understand what we are trying to convey, then please ask questions for clarification. It helps no one on here to respond with an attitude. We don't have to agree, but we should be able to understand where the other is coming from. You claim you have not been rude to me or others on the page, but please tell me how you would feel if someone responded the way you did. Because whether you think you said something wrong or not, your replies did insult me. Telling someone to Take it elsewhere can be only taken so many ways. There was a better way to say the same thing without coming across as rude. As I said I don't want to fight. I want to help in what way I can with my knowledge of the music charts. So please If I or someone else asks for clarification as to why something is being done a certain way, deleted, reverted etc. Take the time to answer in a way that doesn't come across as rude or inconsiderate. Because that is the way I & others are interpreting it regardless of how you may feel you have written it. There is a better way to talk to people here. Please take the time to read your responses before you send them. It's obvious numerous people beside me are taking them the wrong way as well. (MoovieStarz (talk) 19:10, 8 April 2009 (UTC))

The problem with your German charts was that you were posting at the wrong place. You should have posted at the WP:CHARTS section where I redirected you, but instead you are now accusing me of not reading your comments. Posting it at the Gaga discography page will do no good as I strictly follow the WP:GOODCHARTS and anything which violates a guideline cannot be allowed. As I said before, if you expect me to beg of you and say it, sorry I won't. --Legolas (talk2me) 04:00, 9 April 2009 (UTC)
What's the problem with the German Charts? It's a simple chart to reference... This site has a good search feature and linkable results. Singles, Albums, Collaboration with O Donis. As for the singles certifications being positioned below the charts table, perhaps this would be a worthy compromise until the page goes up for peer review or FLC, then it can be decided either way. k-i-a-c (hitmeup - the past) 04:59, 9 April 2009 (UTC)
Nothing. I admit its a good chart but the user needed to discuss in the project page first. What he was actually doing was starting a discussion in the Lady Gaga discography talkpage for which I told him Take it to the WP:CHARTS page, not here. God knows how that is offending. Too much drama. --Legolas (talk2me) 05:03, 9 April 2009 (UTC)

re: Lady Gaga discography

Hey, I havent been involved with this, so I'll read everything and get caught up. Do you have a mediator for it yet? I obviously should not mediate due to my past history with him. - eo (talk) 14:07, 8 April 2009 (UTC)

No Eric, I'm afraid no mediater has come and the user has now resorted to canvassing other users like Love.Game, Child Funk and Ninjachucks not to mention a complete disregard for the policies which make up Wikipedia. Its like the same situation with you, anything not by his way the user starts his ranting. --Legolas (talk2me) 04:47, 9 April 2009 (UTC)
Just letting you know I'm keeping an eye on this, even though you have stepped aside. I see my name was mentioned and if I feel that my 2007 experience with MoovieStarz is relevant enough I will chime in. Later. - eo (talk) 17:29, 9 April 2009 (UTC)
Cool. NP. I've had enough of drama from this user. Seriously I have better things to do at here than entertain such theatrics. --Legolas (talk2me) 05:47, 10 April 2009 (UTC)

Great!

Just one query though,

Minimal usage. Multiple items of non-free content are not used if one item can convey equivalent significant information

  • In simpler terms, what exactly does that mean and what relation does it have to the resolution of the image?

Happy editing!

GA Goals - Poker Face / / LoveGame

I would be honored to help out. As we can't use Youtube as a reference, it will be rather difficult in finding some revelant information that we can input into the article. There are several interviews in which she states the background of the song (those being similar to the ones we have already listed on the article as of right now.) As far as I know, it's about the gamble of love and some of her desires. I'll tackle the issue in a deeper aproach so that I may help you expand the article.

New Zealend, hmmm! It has increased in digital downloads and has hit the Top 100 Songs on the NZ iTunes store but as far as airplay goes, I absolutely have no idea. Generally, New Zealend tends to follow the music that we play over here in Australia so if airplay increases here, then it most likely will over there aswel. Hopefully, some chart or airplay statistics will be released to the public sometime during the next week..

Anyway, i'll try and work on both whenever i'm online on Wikipedia.
childfunk.(chat) 12:55, 9 April 2009 (UTC)

Can you provide one such youtube link? I'll find a reliable source corressponding to that video. --Legolas (talk2me) 03:57, 10 April 2009 (UTC)
Sure, it will just take me sometime to find the link as it has been quite some time ago since I last viewed the interviews of which she makes comments on Poker Face's lyrical composition. Sorry if I have made an inconvenience of some sort. Hopefully, my search concludes successfully. childfunk.(chat) 07:22, 10 April 2009 (UTC)

Fame Ball Tour :: Images

Wikipedia's policy clearly states non-free content is used only where no free equivalent is available, or could be created, that would serve the same encyclopedic purpose.'. You are reverting other editors edits over displaying a poster in the article. There are several free images provide in the article it self that superseeds a non-free images. Please do turn molehill into a mountain. Grantruly (talk) 21:08, 9 April 2009 (UTC)

Have it your way then, but don't move the article without a discussion and achieving a consensus. --Legolas (talk2me) 03:44, 10 April 2009 (UTC)

FYI, User:Grantruly has been blocked as a sock of a blocked user who specializes in aggressive edit warring on concert tour articles. By WP:BAN#Reincarnations you can revert his edits on the The Fame Ball Tour article. Grantruly was also wrong about the non-free use policy; it's quite alright to use a fair use tour poster as the infobox image, and then also have free photos of the concert itself in the article body. This is equivalent to an album or single article having the fair use cover in the infobox, and then also have free images later on. Wasted Time R (talk) 03:36, 13 April 2009 (UTC)

Dance-pop

Hi. I've noticed you are pretty good at backtracing accounts to see if they are socks. What is Love.game or whats-his-name doing wrong? I looked at the contribs and they didn't seem bad to me. Carabera (talk) 00:41, 10 April 2009 (UTC)

Well let me tell you Dance-pop's history. He came first under this ID and was a disruptive editor and was banned. Next he came back under the name GagaLoveGame and his initial edits were good and assumed good faith. Although I knew that it was the same user (from the same spelling mistakes and calling me Legalos instead of Legolas :-)), I didnot report at SPI because his edits seem to have changed. Alas a minor disagreement at a talk page reverted him to the old ways and hence an administrater checked through RCU and he was blocked for block evasion. With Love.Game I see the contributions history and the same type of edits like GagaLoveGame. Initial edits will be good although I knew that user has a vengeance against me since I was the one who pointed out his sockpuppetry. I'm just waiting again and won't report it now untill and unless the user resorts to the same abuses. Cheers. --Legolas (talk2me) 03:27, 10 April 2009 (UTC)
I will also watch the user with you and if anything turns up, I'll report to Hersfold. Along with that, if I ever report to Hersfold, I'll tell Love.Game that Wikipedia is not a place for vandalism and that we are suspecting he is a sock of Dance-pop. Carabera (talk) 16:48, 10 April 2009 (UTC)
OK. Thanks for your concern. --Legolas (talk2me) 07:54, 14 April 2009 (UTC)

Re: Clarification again

Hey, sorry for missing this earlier. Usually it's better to ask them to strike out the comment rather than editing it yourself - it can be considered rude to edit others' comments, to the point some people get twitchy even if you're just correcting an obvious typo.

As for Love.Game, I'll take a look. Hersfold (t/a/c) 02:55, 10 April 2009 (UTC)

User:Dance-pop's block has expired, although he hasn't been editing under that name for some time. In looking at Love.Game's edits, I'm definitely getting the impression he's not new (the first edit is pretty clear on that), but he's a lot better spoken than Dance-pop was. You're welcome to file an SPI for further investigation, but I'm not 100% convinced they're the same just now. Hersfold (t/a/c) 03:09, 10 April 2009 (UTC)
It's starting the same way as User:GagaLoveGame. If you must notice you will see that every time the user comes back, the name is something to do with Lady Gaga the artist. My first suspicion. But since Dance-pop's block has expired he/she is welcome back. Thing is that initially the user will be doing good edits and assume good faith, but like last time, a minor disagreement will completely overturn his behaviour. This time I can see he really has a vengenace for me along with some other editors who are canvassing against me for a matter on the Talk:Lady Gaga discography page like this. I won't file an SPI, just I'm waiting and watching like last time. Cheers for your help, by the way what was the message on your talk page about some block? --Legolas (talk2me) 03:51, 10 April 2009 (UTC)
I had forgotten the previous LoveGame account. I'm not sure what message you're referring to, though...? Hersfold (t/a/c) 03:56, 10 April 2009 (UTC)
There was some message regarding a block from neuro I guess. --Legolas (talk2me) 04:00, 10 April 2009 (UTC)
That was concerning a block from some months ago. What of it? Hersfold (t/a/c) 04:23, 10 April 2009 (UTC)
Actually I was going to ask you a question regarding an editing problem I am facing but then thought maybe you are blocked. Previously when I edited I could use teh edit templates which come below the edit box, but now I can see those templates but somehow I can't click on it and use them in the edit page. Do you the reason? --Legolas (talk2me) 04:28, 10 April 2009 (UTC)
Not the faintest idea; they're working for me. You might want to try asking at the tech village pump, though, they may know the cause. Sorry. (P.S. - If I'm blocked, I wouldn't be posting here. ;-) ) Hersfold (t/a/c) 05:26, 10 April 2009 (UTC)

All Through the Night

Don't worry about it, take as long as you have to! I was only asking. :) Would this help? This is a link on Youtube to her singing the episode on the show Solid Gold. Make you can do a cite episode of it if you can get the airdate? I know that it aired sometime in 1984. here. Have a great day sweetie. :) CarpetCrawlermessage me 08:50, 10 April 2009 (UTC)

Youtube videos will badly fail as WP:RS untill and unless it is from the artist's web page on youtube or the recording company's. I'll take a look. --Legolas (talk2me) 08:54, 10 April 2009 (UTC)
No, I know that. :) What I meant was that we could find the airdate of the episode she sang that song on, and cite the episode, not the Youtube video. :) The cite episode template is very useful for when you want to cite an episode of a show! Have a good one. :) CarpetCrawlermessage me 09:03, 10 April 2009 (UTC)

Poker Face

Hey I've read through and cleaned up the article. Tomorrow I will do through the formatting of the references and point out those that don't meet WP:RS. There are a few unreliable ones at a glance. Before that, I would suggest you expand the critical reception section, it's small. Best. — R2 00:59, 12 April 2009 (UTC)

Thanks Real. I added receptions from Slant Magazine, Allmusic, Popmatters, EW, Chicago Tribune and Rollingstones, hope they will be enough. What are you working on right now? --Legolas (talk2me) 08:42, 14 April 2009 (UTC)

GAN

Hello! :) Good to see you're back, I was wondering where you went! Anyway, how are things in your life? I decided to go ahead and nominate "All Through the Night (Cyndi Lauper song)" for GAN. I've added your name and Frcm's name along with mine when I nominated it, since I feel you both were just as important in that article's incredible improvement as I was. :) Let's hope for the best! And if you have anything to add to the article, still feel free. :) Let's hope for the best, and for a review! I saw that "La Isla Bonita" still hasn't been reviewed, nor have your other articles. Thankfully, the articles are moving up heavily, so soon they'll be reviewed. Bonita was at the same spot as "Captain Jack (song)" when that got reviewed (And passed! I'm so happy!!!). So maybe we'll see something soon!! :) CarpetCrawlermessage me 08:02, 14 April 2009 (UTC)

Hehe, now WE'RE both editing your talkpage at the same time! :) CarpetCrawlermessage me 08:03, 14 April 2009 (UTC)
He he. I guess so. How have you been? --Legolas (talk2me) 08:06, 14 April 2009 (UTC)
I have been good. :) As I said above, "Captain Jack" passed its GA review, so I'm so happy. :) I appreciate you and Frcm helping me out at ATTN's article, which is why I feel you guys derserve as much credit as I do if it passes. :) And cool that you're going somewhere! When are you planning on going? Should be a nice break for you. :D The forest looks BEAUTIFUL! CarpetCrawlermessage me 08:11, 14 April 2009 (UTC)
I'm planning on going next weekend. ATTN I still feel needs info about music video (which I embarrasedly say I failed to find any RS) Also the certification table can be removed and instead can be included in prose in the chart performance section, as only a single provider is listed and hence makes it more WP:NOTDIR directory, which should be avoided. --Legolas (talk2me) 08:27, 14 April 2009 (UTC)
Coooool! :) Yeah right now I'm currently in my last few hours before my spring break is over. :( Right now I'm up to seeing what is said at No Jacket Required's newest peer review, and after that I will nominate it for FAC, which I'm nervous about. Other than that I've been working on some articles for WP:DYK. How about you? Planning on working on anything yourself? And also, yeah, I know about the music video. Problem is that there was no music video released for it, which is odd because I think even "Money Changes Everything" had a music video! Until we find any reliable source information saying why it had no music video, I think it's going to have to stay the way it is. And I'll fix the certification concern tomorrow when I get home at night. :) CarpetCrawlermessage me 08:34, 14 April 2009 (UTC)
Superb!!! But I felt bad for Frcm's Papa Don't Preach failing at FAC.:( Coming back I'll viciously finish my "True Blue" album project by EOD. I have to. Its been pending for too long. Then I'll turn back to something new, which I have been developing day by day. Its the Lady Gaga song "Poker Face". I'm lagging a little on the background of it. Then I'll come back to some oldy agian, perhaps Cyndi's "True Colours". you know the problem with Cyndi's songs are that not much is written about them in books hence it is very difficult to enhance them. But I'll see what I can do. I'll check with Efe once. --Legolas (talk2me) 08:39, 14 April 2009 (UTC)

(Outdent) Yeah, I know, I felt really bad too. :( Poor guy got manhandled at that thing! I thought that was a surefire FA. And hehe, that's great. :) If you need any help you know you can send me a message! :) And cool! Good luck on that. :) I'm sure Lady Gaga has done an interview about the song, I mean it's #1 on the radio! Maybe Google News can help you with finding the background. ;) And what a coincidence, I was listening to that beautiful album today! I love "Change of Heart", reminds me of my situation right now with my chica. And I agree with it being hard to find Cyndi sources, it was a pain in the rear to find ANYTHING about the ATTN background! I didn't even find the info about The Cars recording an early version until a night or two ago! That's why I'm SO excited Cyndi is writing a book soon!!! I can't wait to read it! It's coming out in a year and a half or so. Should be interesting. :) The easiest to do Cyndi articles will probably be "True Colors (song)", "I Drove All Night", "Girls Just Want to Have Fun", "She Bop", and "Time After Time". And even those ones that are "easy" will still be pretty tough. :( Oh well, "With a Little Help From Our Friends" we can surely find enough info on those articles. :) CarpetCrawlermessage me 08:53, 14 April 2009 (UTC)

Ha ha ha. You are abso-crazy-f***kin-lutely right about Cyndi's songs. The book will be heaven to read I presume. Realist is helping me out with the Lady Gaga song. He's a tough one. :) --Legolas (talk2me) 09:00, 14 April 2009 (UTC)
Realist is a great person. :) Works their ass off! And agreed, I can't wait to read the book, I hope she spends time talking about her songs. :) Well I better get some sleep because I have to go to class in like 6 hours, and I need to go to bed. :-/ Catch you later! CarpetCrawlermessage me 09:09, 14 April 2009 (UTC)
Hi there! Sometime this week I'll take a look at your sandbox and see if I can help out. :) CarpetCrawlermessage me 04:12, 15 April 2009 (UTC)
No hurries dude.:)--Legolas (talk2me) 04:15, 15 April 2009 (UTC)
OK. :) So what's up? CarpetCrawlermessage me 04:21, 15 April 2009 (UTC)

(Outdent)Was just looking through GAN to see when any of my articles can be reviewed. :( Also today is Bengali New YEar, so kinda happy.:) Then again searching info for "Poker Face" and fighting of vandals and fanatics :(. Also developing True Blue so happy again :) --Legolas (talk2me) 04:30, 15 April 2009 (UTC)

LOL! Aww. :) And don't worry, your articles will be reviewed soon! Sometimes it takes quite a long time... And Happy New Year! :) Fighting vandals is no fun... :(, but editing Wiki is. :D Right now I'm browsing Wiki and listening to music! I just finished the Thriller album, and have moved onto some Cyndi, the True Colors album. :) CarpetCrawlermessage me 04:46, 15 April 2009 (UTC)
I'm kinda hooked on to Bonnie Tyler's "Total Eclipse of the Heart" right now just after finishing "True blue". Also kinda hooked on to Taylor Swift's "Love Story" and "Poker Face" nowadays too. thanks for your wish. --Legolas (talk2me) 04:55, 15 April 2009 (UTC)
I LOVE "Total Eclipse of the Heart"! What an adorable song. :) I'm suffering from a bad case of eczema on my arm, so I've been listening to a lot of Huey Lewis and the News lately to cheer myself up! :) Right now I'm about to place an article on hold, and will probably work on another article for DYK. We use our talkpages like instant messaging! LOL :) CarpetCrawlermessage me 05:14, 15 April 2009 (UTC)
No way! :( Trust me, without your help and Frcm's help, I wouldn't have been anywhere close to having a GAN, like I do right now. You and Frcm derserve as much credit as I do. :) CarpetCrawlermessage me 06:53, 15 April 2009 (UTC)
Well hey, it's the truth! CarpetCrawlermessage me 06:58, 15 April 2009 (UTC)

(Outdent) Yeah, I can imagine that you'd go loco, so much vandalism! :( Poor thing. Oh, and sometime soon would you like to work on "Lucky Star" or "Holiday (song)"? :) CarpetCrawlermessage me 19:44, 15 April 2009 (UTC)

The moment I finish True blue album and nominate it for GA, I'll start working on Madonna's first album era, so that would mean LS and Holiday!!!! --Legolas (talk2me) 03:11, 16 April 2009 (UTC)
OK. :) Sounds good. "Lucky Star" is my favorite Madonna song! :) And I apologize if I take a while to respond today at first. I'll be showering and shaving my stinky beard! Well, shaving it before it develops into a full-on beard. :D CarpetCrawlermessage me 03:16, 16 April 2009 (UTC)
LOL. Seriously dude, is it cold there?? --Legolas (talk2me) 03:24, 16 April 2009 (UTC)
Well I'm done I'm clean shaven for the first time in like a year, even got rid of the 'stache. :D Seriously, check for yourself :) CarpetCrawlermessage me 04:41, 16 April 2009 (UTC)

(Outdent) Hey, being ugly has its perks! :O... ;) CarpetCrawlermessage me 04:49, 16 April 2009 (UTC)

He he. Gimme your chica's id. I'll positively send it to her. She's gonna rush and hug you. --Legolas (talk2me) 04:51, 16 April 2009 (UTC)
Oh no no no no no no NO! :( I am moving at my pace! I can't rush this, or else she'll think I'm weird! Right now she's hurting from something so I'm trying to figure out what it is and trying to make her feel better. First she's gotta open up, though, so that's what I'm hoping for. While I wait, I shall browse around Wiki! CarpetCrawlermessage me 04:55, 16 April 2009 (UTC)
Just remembered, I have to ask you a favour. I donot know whether you will have time. Since I'll be going to Yercaud this weekend and will hike, camp and obviously booze :), so don't know what state I will be when I arrive office on Monday. So can you keep an eye on "Poker Face" while I'm away? See that fanatics don't mess up the page. Its very close to GAN now. Can you? --Legolas (talk2me) 05:00, 16 April 2009 (UTC)
Sure! :) I'll see what I can do, and if I need assistance I'm sure I can ask around. What exactly should I watch out for? CarpetCrawlermessage me 05:10, 16 April 2009 (UTC)
I'll do what I can. :) Sometimes I'll be at work so if I miss anything, I'll revert as quickly as possible. CarpetCrawlermessage me 19:36, 16 April 2009 (UTC)

Re

Thank you. Yeah. I took a rest... because I have summer class, which started this week. Regarding "Poker", I am concerned, again, about the performance image. I thought you have already nominated "True Blue". --Efe (talk) 12:27, 14 April 2009 (UTC)

I nominated True Blue the song, now I am working on True Blue the album. Can you take a look? Its in my sandbox. Can you tell me where I can get the chart performance? I tried searching for it but didnot found that much info. --Legolas (talk2me) 03:33, 15 April 2009 (UTC)
I think its quite complete now. All you need to do is expand the lead. Good luck. --Efe (talk) 11:35, 16 April 2009 (UTC)

Re: Poker Face

Of course - to be honest, I would have nominated it under my name had you not approached me. Thanks for letting me know, and guarantee you'll be getting most of the credit - I checked the edit history. Great work on the article. Were you originally planning on submitting it yourself? Because it's already pretty decent, a reason I submitted it for peer review in the first place. -- A talk/contribs 13:11, 14 April 2009 (UTC)

I am actually still waiting for a little more info regarding the background of the song and also waiting for the IP vandalisms to tone down. Are you an administrater? Because then can I ask you to please increase the protection time a little longer? --Legolas (talk2me) 03:41, 15 April 2009 (UTC)
I have closed the PR page, but I am confused to whom you are asking for help. Michael?   --Efe (talk) 08:54, 17 April 2009 (UTC)
Its fine. --Efe (talk) 09:18, 17 April 2009 (UTC)
Welcome. Excellent job Legolas! --Efe (talk) 11:31, 20 April 2009 (UTC)

Ohh then why did you give the comment there? --Legolas (talk2me) 03:36, 15 April 2009 (UTC)

Poker Face Italy

Are you able to take a look on Italian iTunes or on the FIMI charts? That wasn't a vandalism but a constructive edit. Your edit may be a vandalism, because the changing into "5" in the Italian Singles Chart is correct. --Mojska (m) 19:01, 14 April 2009 (UTC)

I checked FIMI and nowhere it says taht PF is 5. Italian iTunes is invalid. --Legolas (talk2me) 03:36, 15 April 2009 (UTC)
OK but I am not an user with many experience, I was inactive for many months --Mojska (m) 05:27, 15 April 2009 (UTC)

Re: Madonna

I shall join you. But, I'm not that good at editing. So please forgive my mistakes. What articles are at the works? --Sticky&Sweet12 (talk) 14:40, 15 April 2009 (UTC)

Lady GaGa Gossip Girl songs

Okay this link has the songs from The Fame that were featured on Gossip Girl.

http://www.gossipgirlinsider.com/music/artists/lady-gaga/

Usually Gossip Girl picks random songs from various artists, but they actually used 3 of Lady Gaga's songs, which is a pretty big deal, considering she's fairly new. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.0.95.132 (talk) 23:54, 16 April 2009 (UTC)

The problem is the page doesnot say why they have chosen Gaga's songs. Is it any contract or any other reason is not known hence it fails for being encyclopedic. --Legolas (talk2me) 06:30, 17 April 2009 (UTC)

Gaga The Fame Part one

Hi. I am interested in creating an article for the video below (I would like to know if it is even worth creating one first) and if you would like to help. I have also and/or are going ask other users frequently on the article and it's extensions. I hope to hear from you.

Vids- One is imeem (the source). http://www.imeem.com/ladygaga/video/4U2rMmOJ/lady-gaga-the-fame-part-one-dance-video/ Thanks I am Rorschach (talk) 03:38, 17 April 2009 (UTC)

Its just a video. There is no real world scenario, no receptions, no video release information for it. Absolutely donot try to attempt to create it. It will burn at Afd. --Legolas (talk2me) 05:53, 17 April 2009 (UTC)
I undersatnd what you are talking about, how ever I endevour to create it with or without your help (i know this sounds a bit agressive). It probaby is going to burn at the adf but i am going to fight long and hard, eveything is going to be time consuming (your time as well if you want it to burn), anyway eventually it will go onto the fame article under promotion or stay as an article, so its a win:win situation.I am Rorschach (talk) 08:47, 17 April 2009 (UTC)
Have it your way. --Legolas (talk2me) 08:59, 17 April 2009 (UTC)
I am going to find notabalty (1st if I can) if not it will merge with the fame article.I am Rorschach (talk) 23:15, 17 April 2009 (UTC)

Lots of weird stuff happened while you were gone today!

Someone passed "Open Your Heart" with a not so good review, which started up this interesting discussing at the GAN talkpage, and I did my best to keep a close eye on the "Poker Face" article. And it seems I didn't do as good of a job as I thought I did. :-/ And here I got all excited because I reverted someone who used a bad chart! CarpetCrawlermessage me 05:09, 17 April 2009 (UTC)

No worries. You did all that you could for Poker Face. I'm extremely thankful for your help. As for Open your Heart, I cancelled that evaluation and put back that nomination again. Thats not how I want my article to be reviewed. It really disappointed me to see such a blanche review by an extremely inexperienced user. But I think I'll nominate Poker Face, time has arrived my friend. Can you take a look at the article and see if it needs anything else? --Legolas (talk2me) 05:35, 17 April 2009 (UTC)
Ohh I agree with that, what I mean is that an experienced user should teach the GA guidelines to the first reviewer, but we don't want to scared him and lost a potential good reviewer. Frcm1988 (talk) 05:51, 17 April 2009 (UTC)
Of course. And you have already guided him to WP:GAC so I'm pretty sure he/she will be accustomed to the policies and rules here. Other thoughts, what have you been upto? Its been long since I heard from you. What are you working on? Anything I can help? I'm concentrating on True Blue (album) and "Poker Face". Both are almost ready for GA. --Legolas (talk2me) 06:02, 17 April 2009 (UTC)
I agree with Frcm on messaging the user. :) And I think that "Poker Face" is ready for a GA review! I see no other things that I would be concerned about. Good luck. :) Also, you're back already? :O CarpetCrawlermessage me 06:03, 17 April 2009 (UTC)
Just remember to archieve the peer review first. Frcm1988 (talk) 06:09, 17 April 2009 (UTC)
No my dear friend. I'm leaving tonight. Its Friday 11:30 am here in India.:) FY how do you close the peer review for Poker Face? I think then only I can nominate it for GA. Realist said one funny thing — Since I am getting too much of haters that menas I'm doing a really good job. Can you believe it :D? --Legolas (talk2me) 06:12, 17 April 2009 (UTC)

(Outdent) I think you have to wait for it to close... :( If worse comes to worst I'm sure you could ask someone, because I'm not 100% sure. CarpetCrawlermessage me 06:18, 17 April 2009 (UTC)

Well I can ask Michael (Efe). He's an admin. --Legolas (talk2me) 06:24, 17 April 2009 (UTC)
OK, that sounds like a good plan. :) So are you packing your stuff? :P CarpetCrawlermessage me 06:31, 17 April 2009 (UTC)
Nothing much to pack. Tonight after I go home at 6pm, one of my friends is coming over. We'll shop and buy the foods and booze. He's staying with me tonight. At 3 am in the morning my bro and his roomate's gonna come from their night shift at office and then we're gonna start. I feel so excited. Yippeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!! --Legolas (talk2me) 06:34, 17 April 2009 (UTC)
Three in the morning?! Wow, that's certainly an odd time to start something! But who am I kidding, I do things at all hours of the day. :-/ Have fun dear! :) It sounds like it'll be fun. I'll do my best to keep an eye on "Poker Face", and I'm sure if I miss anything guys like Realist will help me out! :) Can't wait until the PR for No Jacket Required is over, then I can nominate it for FAR and FINALLY see if all of my hard work has paid off! A part of me wants to get it over with, and a part of me has cold feet, especially considering that both "Billie Jean" and "Papa Don't Preach" got soundly destroyed at FAR. :( CarpetCrawlermessage me 06:40, 17 April 2009 (UTC)
I know!!! Imagine the hangover I'm gonna get after I come back. And I knew YOU are a crazy dude after I saw your pic. He he. Also my heartiest wishes for NJR. I admire the hard work that you put in that article. I have kept it as a muse for my True Blue article. I can understnad about the cold feet since "papa don't preach" was so badly ambushed in FAR. Well I'm off to lunch, friends are calling. You in the meantime think about your chica. :) he he. --Legolas (talk2me) 06:48, 17 April 2009 (UTC)

(Outdent)He he, shhhh on me being a crazy dude. ;) And yes, that should be fun, editing with a nice hangover headache! :D And thank you for the nice compliment! It took me literally months of research and writing to get it where it is today, and it probably still needs improvement. :( Realist said I need to add two more audio samples if I'm going to do them at all, for example. But I'll see how it goes at FAR with none at all. I felt bad for "Billie Jean", Pyhruss addressed ALL of the user's concerns, and the freakin' article failed anyway! Literally a day after the concerns were addressed! I have been tempted to notify SandyGeorgia about the quick failure, but apparently Pyrhuss is going to peer review and copyedit it before trying again. Have a good lunch! I'm probably going to head to bed in just a short while, so I'll see you Monday! Enjoy your trip! :) CarpetCrawlermessage me 07:00, 17 April 2009 (UTC)

Ohh OK. Well then I guess I'll see you on Monday, seriously I doubt at what state I will be when I return. I'll post the pics on my orkut profile so that you can see it. --Legolas (talk2me) 08:19, 17 April 2009 (UTC)

New projects

I don't know really, now that the first weeks of classes have passed, my work have doubled and I don't have the time to edit as I would wanted to. Also Im unable to find enough info about any of the songs that I want to develop, that's why I was mostly doing clean-up on many articles. I wanted to stop editing the Madonna articles for a while, but there is so much info on many of the songs that I think I might start editing those articles again. Regards. Frcm1988 (talk) 06:17, 17 April 2009 (UTC)

Tell me for which song you want info and I'll see if I can find anything. I'm good at finding info from books. About the Madonna articles, even I'm waiting to complete the "True Blue (album)" and after this True Blue era ends I might move on to her first album, the most neglected and forgotten one. By the way I'm sorry for Papa don't preach failing at FAC :( It really deserved the bronze star. --Legolas (talk2me) 06:21, 17 April 2009 (UTC)
Ohh I was looking for info about Culture Club's "Karma Chameleon" or "Do You Really Want to Hurt Me", well any song about the group actually. I was also looking specially for the writing, inspiration or recording process about Duran Duran's "Union of the Snake", "The Reflex" and "Wild Boys", also The Bangles' Eternal Flame", Roxette's "The Look", Tears for Fears' "Shout" and Laura Branigan's "Self Control". I don't know which Madonna's songs are you planning to do after the True Blue album is complete. It would be definitely better if each of us concentrate on one song, but at the same time help each other with some sections. I see that you two are planning on doing Madonna's songs from the first album,("Lucky Star" and "Holiday") if so I would like to do "Borderline". And about "Papa Don't Preach", well don't worry, Im going to wait till some user I asked to help me have the time to copyedit the composition section, I think is very close to pass to FA. Frcm1988 (talk) 06:47, 17 April 2009 (UTC)
Well as said before me and Carpet are gonna collaborate for LS and Holiday so you are free to go with Borderline although I'll put down as much info as possible. If you want to start "Karma Chameleon" just lemme know. I have got info from books. --Legolas (talk2me) 08:23, 17 April 2009 (UTC)

Barnstar

  The Surreal Barnstar
For your excellent contributions to pop music related articles, which in itself is a rare feat, as pop music tends to overwhelmingly attract superficial editors who dismiss journalist, academic, and critical analysis of music. You are a shining example of how anyone wishing to edit pop music articles should approach the genre. The Bookkeeper (of the Occult) 11:09, 17 April 2009 (UTC)
Wowwww. Thanks book!! Really appreciated!!! How did you know? --Legolas (talk2me) 11:16, 17 April 2009 (UTC)
Agree with this barnstar award 110%. Legolas is one of the most underrate wiki users, one who focuses on CONTENT, and not on "this person called me a poo head" drama crap that everyone is seemingly getting involved in these days. Keep up the excellent work. :)

Look!

Yay!!! It passed! :) Wonderful job! CarpetCrawlermessage me 00:34, 18 April 2009 (UTC)

Also, a reviewer has placed "Open Your Heart" on hold, so make sure to address the user's concerns! :) So far I've been doing good watching "Poker Face", some of those vandals are a REAL pain in the ass, and incredibly persistent/annoying! Hope you're enjoying yourself there. ;) CarpetCrawlermessage me 18:40, 19 April 2009 (UTC)
A couple of hours ago an adminstrator semi-protected the article, which will definitely help out! :) See you later! CarpetCrawlermessage me 01:00, 20 April 2009 (UTC)
Looks like you're not the only one having a problem with this user's incivility. I think this is the first ever personal attack I've ever received on Wiki! CarpetCrawlermessage me 03:49, 20 April 2009 (UTC)
Heyyyy. I'm back. And I see you are also on Dance-pop's attack list. Welcome to the real Wiki world my friend where you will meet people like this when you revert their vandalism. Well my trip was fabbbbbb-ulous. I'll be posting in flickr and will send you the link. And thanks a looooooooooooooooootttt for PF. --Legolas (talk2me) 03:52, 20 April 2009 (UTC)
Wonderful, I'm glad that you had a great time, can't wait to see the pictures! And I never thought I'd get a personal attack on this site, I always try to assume good faith and thought that the user was bordering on incivility, so I warned them about it. Then I get a lovely little message from said user. Sigh, I cannot believe people get this worked up sometimes! Anyway, congrats on PF, and I hope you saw the GA review for "Open Your Heart"! :) CarpetCrawlermessage me 03:56, 20 April 2009 (UTC)
He he. How's your beard?   Well don't worry about that user. We have a long history. He has a history of getting himself blocked for these reasons. I'm sooooo happy about PF, and after I clean up the muck from the Gaga articles, *rolls eyes*, I'll look into the review of OYH. --Legolas (talk2me) 03:59, 20 April 2009 (UTC)
It's staying shaved! :P No way am I keeping that anymore, it makes me look like a hobo! I've sent the user a long message about being incivil and assuming good faith, and I hope they got the message. And good luck, it seems that a LOT of I.P.'s have an obsession with adding crap into articles... is it like this with EVERY current popular artist? CarpetCrawlermessage me 04:10, 20 April 2009 (UTC)
OMG. I have alot of racist things to say to you but won't because your life is probably a mess and I feel sorry for you. Your scare tactics and cyber-like bullying is unacceptable on a levels social-mentally. I can't believe you like this site. You do not have any evidence to say I am User:Dance-pop.I am Rorschach (talk) 04:11, 20 April 2009 (UTC)
Unbelieveable. That's it, now I'm getting an adminstrator involved in this. CarpetCrawlermessage me 04:13, 20 April 2009 (UTC)
Good to know its not coming back. He he. About this user, just forget I'll deal him. As I told you before he has a history like this. About Gaga articles, sigh!, I'm number one on the hate list of the fans as I solely revert all their crap. It really is like this for hte new artist but especially with this one, its out of hand. I'm gonna request protection for all the Gaga related articles now. --Legolas (talk2me) 04:14, 20 April 2009 (UTC)

Message

You rude little child. I maintain civility. You don't "Gandalf" or "Golem" because you are acting like him. Talk pages are NOT forums keep that in mind before you make hypocrite.I am Rorschach (talk) 03:47, 20 April 2009 (UTC)

Recommendation

After the user's last message that they have placed on your talkpage, about the many "racist" things they want to say about you, and the continous personal attacks, I feel that it is now time for an adminstrator to get involved. CarpetCrawlermessage me 04:17, 20 April 2009 (UTC)

I already pinged User:Hersfold. Do you think I should raise an ANI? --Legolas (talk2me) 04:20, 20 April 2009 (UTC)
Yeah, I feel this could get nasty. CarpetCrawlermessage me 04:23, 20 April 2009 (UTC)
The user has been temporarily blocked. In other things, I returned yesterday night at 2:30 am and have come to office at 8:30 am again, grrrrrrrrr, feel so groggy and heavy headed. I completed clearing up the Gaga mess now will look into OYH. By the way is there any progress b/w you and your chica? --Legolas (talk2me) 04:32, 20 April 2009 (UTC)
Big surprise, despite the user constantly denying it, they are indeed Dance-pop! Don't these users know by now how easy it is to prove these things? Anyway, you edit from work? Cool. :) Sometimes I do that as well. And I don't think so, it seems she's ignoring me. If it keeps up I'll definitely try to confront her and ask what's up. Ignoring me either means I'm in a really good situation, or a reallllllly bad one. :-/. CarpetCrawlermessage me 04:40, 20 April 2009 (UTC)
I know sigh!, but still that user doesnot get it. I edit from work as well as from home on my laptop. And good luck with her. It seems you are on rule #1 of ignorance is bliss according to me. He he. --Legolas (talk2me) 04:46, 20 April 2009 (UTC)
Hmm... when you say "ignorance is bliss," you speak from experience? I'm guessing you had a crappy relationship before? Awww, I'm sorry hon. :( And yeah, I'll need the good luck. She's probably realized that I kinda am interested in her, so she's ignoring me now, which when you think about it is really mean. I can't stand people that don't want to state that they're not interested. It's like that great [If This Is It (Huey Lewis and the News song)|Huey Lewis and the News song, if this ain't love, baby, JUST SAY SO!]] I don't like when people think that I'll understand what they're hinting at when they ignore me. Sigh... oh well, we'll see where it goes from there. Anyway, if you need any help with OYH make sure to ask. :) CarpetCrawlermessage me 04:58, 20 April 2009 (UTC)

(Outdent)I'll quote Madonna's Material Girl. "Experience has made me rich and now they're after me", which in one line I'll agree, is extremely annoying. I don't like people who are not transparent. *rolls eyes* Well with OYH, I didnot understand what the reviewer meant with the WP:LEAD. --Legolas (talk2me) 05:03, 20 April 2009 (UTC)

LOL! :) And I did what I THINK the reviewer was asking you to do. We'll see what happens when they check out the page. I'll send them a message. :) Hope you're not suffering from a huge headache! LOL. CarpetCrawlermessage me 05:12, 20 April 2009 (UTC)
No Carpet. Thats not what Pyrrhus meant. I got the meaning now. He means to include the music video year also in the LEAD to make it more consistent as the video covers a broad area of the article and must be noted as a separate entity in the LEAd. I'll correct the concerns now. --Legolas (talk2me) 05:24, 20 April 2009 (UTC)
Oy! My bad there. ;) OK, we'll see what else happens. :) And thank you for the congrats! I'm hoping my other nominated DYK? (Walking on a Thin Line (song) will make it too! CarpetCrawlermessage me 05:28, 20 April 2009 (UTC)
Well I corrected the other concerns and questioned the LEAd concern whether we really need to write the prose in that way since it is highly unusual to include a song and music video like this. According to WP:SINGLE, it is the song which gets priority incase of both being released. Lets see what Pyrrhus says. --Legolas (talk2me) 05:45, 20 April 2009 (UTC)
OK, let's see what happens! :) So how was your little break? :) CarpetCrawlermessage me 05:52, 20 April 2009 (UTC)
It was so refreshing that I don't have words to say. It was cold, breezy, free, forest, green what else I don't know. We went to hight peaks and awesome views. We went to temples where gods are hidden under the caves and you have to crawl and enter. We went to a disco atop a hill where we danced around a bonfire. We even went to a haunted old bungalow. --Legolas (talk2me) 05:57, 20 April 2009 (UTC)

(Outdent) Sounds awesome! I could really use a real vacation, myself. However, I don't have the money, and still have a month left until this semester is over. But god is it tiring! I feel like I'm going to decompose one day while walking to one of my classes. For a week and a half I'm going with my family, via car to Indiana, which isn't going to be all that much fun. :( Argh. Oh well, that's not for another few months! Hope all is going well for you, hon. :) CarpetCrawlermessage me 06:06, 20 April 2009 (UTC)

Well how is the weather now in Indiana? I never had a chance to go there while my visit to US. At present things are fine with me though financially a little tough, after my trip to Us and all the Live shows I saw there. I'm planning on going to Pondicherry this June. It will be our lavish extravaganza. --Legolas (talk2me) 06:12, 20 April 2009 (UTC)
I'm glad we're going to Indy in the summer, a few weeks ago it snowed four feet! :-/ And yeah, financially things are really tough here too. We may have to move in a few years if things get worse. Unfortunately, New York to me is the greatest place in the world, but without a dout one of the most expensive places to live in. Sucks a lot. :( And that sounds like a fun trip! :) More fun than going to Indiana... argh... CarpetCrawlermessage me 06:19, 20 April 2009 (UTC)
Well search for Pondicherry in flickr, you will get to see the true beauty of it. Its a complete French colony in India. And woo-hoo for the snow there. By the way I will be going to New york I think in December, but alas, if you guys move I won't be able to meet you.  . --Legolas (talk2me) 06:22, 20 April 2009 (UTC)
Oh, don't worry! It's not for another few years, I'll be in New York in December. :) I'll make sure to drop by and say hi to you! :) We'll go to one of those huge music stores, LOL. Sounds like a fun idea! :) CarpetCrawlermessage me 06:33, 20 April 2009 (UTC)
Ohh OK. Cool, I'll definitely meet you. We'll hang around CPW kinda like "Friends". There's one hot chick beside my cubicle. She's laughing and looks irresistible. Can't wait to upload our trip pics. --Legolas (talk2me) 06:42, 20 April 2009 (UTC)
LOL, don't make me creepy Ross and I'll be fine. ;) I'm more like Norm Peterson though. ;) And LOL, just felt like sharing that tidbit about that woman? ;) CarpetCrawlermessage me 06:46, 20 April 2009 (UTC)

(Outdent)Patience my hairy beard friend. I can visualize you rolling your tongue out.  . I'm too hungry now. Will share the details after lunch. Friends are calling me continuously on mob. --Legolas (talk2me) 06:50, 20 April 2009 (UTC)

LOL, have a good one man (We use this talkpage stuff a lot more like instant messaging than for a Wiki talkpage, hmm? :P) CarpetCrawlermessage me
And if I didn't say so already, congratulations on the passing of "Poker Face". :) You did a great job! That page was a pain in the rear to monitor, leave for a half an hour and then try to sort through the edits and see what was vandalism or unsourced! CarpetCrawlermessage me 08:23, 20 April 2009 (UTC)
Thanks again Carpet. I just had my lunch and came back. I know, that article will still be a pain untill and unless the protection is extended to a time, till the hoopla surrounding the song comes down. But my True Blue (album) project, man its taking too much time now. :( Funny thing is "La Isla Bonita" is still not reviewed but OYH and "Poker Face" moves up to GA. He he. --Legolas (talk2me) 08:31, 20 April 2009 (UTC)
LOL, yeah that's the weirdness of the GAR section, sometimes some things are picked before others. Usually it's just random, other times it's really a matter of preference. Who knows? Hope you have a good day (I really need to go to bed now. I have class tomorrow AND I have my 6-9 P.M. night class. ARGH! I hate that class :( ) Seeya soon! :) CarpetCrawlermessage me 08:35, 20 April 2009 (UTC)
Okies dost. :) --Legolas (talk2me) 08:46, 20 April 2009 (UTC)

South African Singles Chart

Why do you say it's not an official chart? Alecsdaniel (talk) 11:36, 20 April 2009 (UTC)

Because its not listed under WP:GOODCHARTS. Also for an artist like Madonna, who has the major music markets listed under her charts, adding a minor market like South Africa is extremely unnecessary and is just vestigial to the article. --Legolas (talk2me) 11:56, 20 April 2009 (UTC)
And you think 13 charts are enough? And South Africa is not listed as a bad chart either, maybe there should be a discussion about it. Alecsdaniel (talk) 17:15, 20 April 2009 (UTC)
Discuss it at WP:CHARTS. Be prepared to explain who publishes these SA charts, methodology, issues, archiving etc. 04:16, 21 April 2009 (UTC)
Just to be clear, WP:GOODCHARTS isn't claimed to be an exhaustive list. There are probably some decent charts from large markets that aren't listed, even though I tried to get them all. I only listed the top 30 markets, and didn't try to find charts for small markets. I agree in that in most cases, charts that aren't on WP:GOODCHARTS shouldn't be used, but you have to be careful using it that way. Certainly, a good South African chart would be fine in an article about a South African singer. If there's a reliable South African chart, there really isn't a reason not to add it to WP:GOODCHARTS as well.—Kww(talk)

Poker Face GA

I'm really happy for the article passing GA. Thanks for all your help. --Legolas (talk2me) 12:07, 20 April 2009 (UTC)

Your welcome for starting the peer review; I hadn't actually done anything to the article - you, on the otherhand, congratulations. The article deserves to be where it is right now. -- A talk/contribs 12:14, 20 April 2009 (UTC)
Well I have already started working on "Just Dance". We just need a protection for the article. Too much IP crap addition going on. --Legolas (talk2me) 12:16, 20 April 2009 (UTC)
Ah; I've noticed that - the page's been on my watchlist for a while. I'm requesting a semi-protection while the article is being worked on. -- A talk/contribs 12:21, 20 April 2009 (UTC)

Re:Your edits

Thank you. It's amazing what one can learn in such a short period of time.
Regarding edit summaries, I will make an effort by improving in that area!
Sometimes I just innocently forget to include them, sorry.
Do you find it necessary when making rather small contributions?
If so, then would it be better to use the intergrated minor edit fucntion?
childfunkchat 00:59, 21 April 2009 (UTC)

Actually as I have observed, many of your changes are not exactly minor to click on the "minor edit" tab. For eg. You just added a reference for the Cherrytree sessions in the Gaga discography section. That is not a minor change and needs edit summary (which I'm happy you did). Minor change would be something like changing GaGa -> Gaga etc. --Legolas (talk2me) 04:27, 21 April 2009 (UTC)

Paparazzi

Ok,
What are your thoughts on the recently created article for Paparazzi? It sure does look better as oppossed to what LoveGame did when first created. We already have Writing inspiration and critical reception. The music video content is something that really needs to be worked on though. I guess I made a good choice in hiding the section as most sources did not comply with WP:RS. It's also a good thing that you have brought it back up although leaving only the first two sentences with sources that meet the criteria. Hopefully we can find more useful but reliable refs for future use.
childfunkchat 04:41, 21 April 2009 (UTC)

You probably know by now that I singlehandedly structured LoveGame with continuous edits and fighting off vandalisms and unsourced statements (You must rememeber those times). Well don't worry I'll do the same for Paparazzi. Though there is writing and reception, there needs to be detailed chart performance, music video and live performance as well as music structure. I'm looking for these for LoveGame and "Eh Eh" which is extremely shabby I must say. Well I recently promoted "Poker Face" to GA which you must have noticed. Yeahhhh!!! --Legolas (talk2me) 04:49, 21 April 2009 (UTC)
Yes, congratulations with getting Poker Face to GA! You must be extremely pleased as all your hard efforts have payed off. Lets hope that sooner or later we can acheive similar success with Just Dance, Eh Eh, LoveGame and Paparazzi. I would have to agree with you in regards to all the recent IP vandals. Perhaps we could request some page protection of some sort for the articles suffering the most.
childfunkchat 05:15, 21 April 2009 (UTC)
Gaga articles have mostly been protected now including the discography. Can you find out the behind story for songs like "Eh Eh" and "LoveGame"? "Paparazzi" I thnk we'll be able to find as its wuite popular. --Legolas (talk2me) 06:07, 21 April 2009 (UTC)
