Username
editHi - Don McLean is on my watchlist, so I've seen your username pop up a few times over the course of the day as you've been editing it. Can I just ask, what does it mean? I'm asking because the 'trans-free' part might be construed as some sort of statement about transgender people, which might lead to friction here. I say this as someone who has had questions asked about his own username - I wrote User:Girth Summit/My username to ensure that it's clear that no offense is intended. Cheers Girth Summit (blether) 18:11, 1 October 2022 (UTC)
- oh, crap, i didn't think someone could perceive it as being anti-trans because to me, it just means who i am, liberal heap being myself, trans any gender you choose, and free to be weird and myself. a very weird nerd. I guess I will take this oporitunity to publicly say that my username DOES NOT in any way mean the world should be free of trans persons, it means be yourself no matter the cost, because in the end we all wear a mask and are all the same too. <3
- thank you for bringing this to my attention, I am very sorry if i offended anyone.
- If you think I should change my username to help prevent strife on wikipedia, I'll be happy to do so. Lib-trans-free (talk) 18:19, 1 October 2022 (UTC)
- I'm very glad to hear that - thanks for explaining. If you want to change your username, you can - the instructions are at WP:UNC. You don't have to though - I was just checking that you weren't a troll. If you want to, you could create a userpage that explains your choice of username - just click here, write whatever you like, and hit 'Publish changes'. Cheers Girth Summit (blether) 18:23, 1 October 2022 (UTC)
- oh snap! you done schooled me! thanks! I did that! Lib-trans-free (talk) 18:26, 1 October 2022 (UTC)
- I want to add that more than anything else in this world, I want to be a fair and honest scientist. I follow the facts, a true scientist can't blindly follow any political party because when one does actual science, they had better be willing to admit they were wrong a million times. If the facts fall up, then judge me as being up that day. If the facts fall down, then judge me as being down that day. If the facts fall left, then judge me as being left. If the facts fall right, then judge me as being right.
- Facts are like love to a scientist; one can only beat themselves against an immovable unchangeable rock of love/facts; bloody and beaten, you realize that acceptance is the way. Lib-trans-free (talk) 18:34, 1 October 2022 (UTC)
- so Girth, I just did my first big section heading change, what do you think? did I do ok?
- And was it ok for me to include the link inside the heading the way I did? Lib-trans-free (talk) 18:36, 1 October 2022 (UTC)
