editHi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Victoria, Texas, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Santa Ana. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Westchase
editHi! I saw this edit in which information about HISD was removed on the grounds that the City of Houston-defined Westchase Super Neighborhood wasn't in Houston ISD, so the information was removed.
However there is a portion of the Westchase Management District (the governmental authority that puts the Westchase signs up) within HISD, and Revere Middle School is within those boundaries.
Also at minimum the Alief ISD high schools should be mentioned for Westchase; there is no specific boundary for them, but assignments are done by lottery. WhisperToMe (talk) 12:38, 6 July 2017 (UTC)
- Hey WhisperToMe, thanks for pointing this out! I suppose I didn't consider the Management District's boundaries when editing that section of the article, and I agree that the information should be included. I might make some light edits to improve the distinction between the Management District and the Super Neighborhood, just for clarity's sake. LithiumAneurysm (talk) 12:53, 6 July 2017 (UTC)
- You're welcome! I'll go ahead and update the URL of the 2014 land use map - the original link may have 404'ed but I found an archive on the wayback machine WhisperToMe (talk) 12:58, 6 July 2017 (UTC)

Rice U housing
editHey! I didn't know that Morningside Village closed. I wanted to find a news article or press release about its closure but haven't had much luck.
I still think the Rice U housing article should talk about Morningside Village but acknowledge that it closed. Also the school zoning can be an important consideration for units that allow dependent children; the Florida State University report on Alumni Village mentioned its assigned schools, and the news articles about the proposed closure of the University of Texas housing units discussed how that might impact Matthews Elementary. WhisperToMe (talk) 14:39, 29 January 2018 (UTC)
- All I can find concerning Morningside Square is this demolition report from Swamplot. Not really surprised that the university has kept it under wraps; their property management company isn't the most transparent unless it's a high-profile project.
- As for the school info, if other similar articles and sources are discussing it, I think it's worth including! I might have gotten a little overzealous in deleting it since so many Houston-area articles are clogged with school zoning information, but a brief paragraph on the issue is warranted. LithiumAneurysm (talk) 17:28, 29 January 2018 (UTC)
- Thanks for finding that! I wonder what will replace those apartments. A for the schools I agree a paragraph is just fine!
- When I was writing Houston-related articles a decade ago I was putting in school zoning info to link neighborhoods with the public schools that serve them. There may be some cases where the community is so "large" (say 10 or more elementary schools) where say info on elementary schools may not be needed. I'm fine with trimming in those cases.

For high-quality work on a variety of Houston-related articles. Oldsanfelipe2 (talk) 09:12, 27 January 2020 (UTC) |
- Thank you Oldsanfelipe2! I really appreciate the recognition :) LithiumAneurysm (talk) 20:22, 7 February 2020 (UTC)
- I notice from your profile that you're in St. Louis. I am doing original research that lead me to 1870 Census records for the Laclede Hotel. One of the operators of the Old Capitol Hotel in Houston had previously co-managed the Laclede. Anyway, I hope you are able to make more improvements to Houston-related articles, and if not, perhaps you could do the same for St. Louis. Best, Oldsanfelipe2 (talk) 20:57, 7 February 2020 (UTC)
- Yes, I recently decided it was time to try living somewhere other than Houston. Fascinating stuff! I've noticed some curious connections between Houston and St. Louis myself, such as the origin of Missouri City. I'm still passionate about Houston, and there's still much work to be done, so I'm sure you'll see me in the edit histories of more articles. Cheers —LithiumAneurysm (talk) 21:37, 22 February 2020 (UTC)

Galveston Bay improvements
editHello! A fellow owl here (Jones, '08), working on improving some Texas topics, and I noticed that you've done a good bit of work on Galveston Bay. I'm interested in trying to get the articles about the seven big estuaries along the Texas coast to Good Article quality (to potentially create a Good Topic), and the southwesterly five are already there, and (after your good work) Galveston Bay is close. I'm going to make a real article to replace the stub currently at Sabine Lake, and I wondered if you'd be interested in trying to put Galveston Bay through the Good Article Nomination process. Have you ever nominated an article for GA before? If you put it up, I'll give you a prompt review. If you're occupied with other things, I'd understand. Cheers, and thanks for your contributions to the encyclopedia! -Bryan Rutherford (talk) 20:27, 7 February 2020 (UTC)
- Hi Bryan, thanks for reaching out. Always nice to see other Owls on here! I haven't nominated an article for GA before, but I can carve out some time to look into the process. As you can probably tell from my delayed response, I haven't been making Wikipedia much of a priority in my life recently, but I'm itching to get involved again. I'll see what I can do. LithiumAneurysm (talk) 21:29, 22 February 2020 (UTC)
- I've put a handful of articles through WP:GAN and reviewed a fair number more, and I'd be happy to try to answer any questions about the process! Either way, thanks for your good work! -Bryan Rutherford (talk) 01:07, 23 February 2020 (UTC)
