{{Helpme}} Could someone please review User:Lukejtharries/sandbox (an unpublished article on Giapo), and give some specific feedback (the broad/vague references to Wikipedia policies mean nothing to me, I'll need some tangible advice, if that isn't too much to ask?). Thanks - Lukejtharries (talk) 22:05, 3 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

Twitter and Facebook are not considered reliable sources; you'll need things like news articles and the like instead. Also, I don't know if Giapo is notable enough. From WP:ORG, "An organization is generally considered notable if it has been the subject of significant coverage in reliable, independent secondary sources." That means you'll need to find such sources to prove that it is indeed notable enough. I am leaving the tag on for now to attract other helpers.  fetchcomms 22:13, 3 December 2009 (UTC)Reply
I agree with Fetchcomms. You will need to demonstrate coverage in independent secondary sources, such as news stories, books, etc. Gigs (talk) 22:40, 3 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

Giapo Page

edit

Could someone please review the article I have written, as i have had issues in the past, trying to have versions of it published. User:Lukejtharries/sandbox contains the article in question. I would appreciate feedback on the article. Thankyou.

It comes off as promotional material to me. Since it's not a very notable entity, I'd suggest making it as neutral and on-topic as possible. Including history would be good, but not so sure about donations and charity work. Stuff like that is going to trigger new page patrollers to deem it CSD worthy for advertising. I'm all for completeness of wikipedia, and if you rewrite it be less "here's everything great about Giapo", I'll back your article. Nick Wilson (talk) 08:25, 1 December 2009 (UTC)Reply
I've done a bit of cleaning up now, and hopefully it should be somewhat better. If not could you give me specific things that are in the article now that need cleaning, and things that would be suitable to add. Thanks. Lukejtharries (talk) 22:04, 1 December 2009 (UTC)Reply
I edited the page in your sandbox to make it a bit more neutral. It still needs work, and more importantly it needs independent outside sources (not Twitter or Facebook). If you do that, I'd consider it a worthwhile contribution. Nick Wilson (talk) 02:33, 4 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Giapo

edit

A tag has been placed on Giapo, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam as well as Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Speedy deletion nomination of Giapo

edit

A tag has been placed on Giapo requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for organizations and companies.

AfD Nomination: Giapo

edit

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! We welcome and appreciate your contributions, but all Wikipedia articles must meet our criteria for inclusion (see What Wikipedia is not and Deletion policy). Since it does not seem that Giapo meets these criteria, an editor has started a discussion about whether this article should be kept or deleted.

Your opinion on whether this article meets the inclusion criteria is welcome. Please contribute to the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Giapo. Don't forget to add four tildes (~~~~) at the end of each of your comments to sign them.

Discussions such as these usually last seven days. In the meantime, you are free to edit the content of the article. Please do not remove the "articles for deletion" template (the box at the top). When the discussion has concluded, a neutral third party will consider all comments and decide whether or not to delete the article. Accounting4Taste:talk 19:24, 8 December 2009 (UTC)Reply
