Nomination of Cambridge South railway station for deletion

edit

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Cambridge South railway station is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Cambridge South railway station (2nd nomination) until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Proposed deletion of Kilnwood Vale railway station

edit

The article Kilnwood Vale railway station has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No notability in a proposed railway station

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. ‡ Єl Cid of ᐺalencia ᐐT₳LKᐬ 15:29, 30 August 2017 (UTC)Reply

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Leeds Marsh Lane railway station, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page North Eastern Railway (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

East West Rail

edit

Even though I reverted one of your changes, thanks for verifying my updates following the page move. Innocently, I thought it would be easy. I hadn't allowed for years of accumulated detritus in referring articles. --John Maynard Friedman (talk) 11:08, 23 March 2018 (UTC)Reply

Varsity Line

edit

The consensus is that the Varsity Line ceased to exist as of the end of 1969, although parts of its route still exist. Reuse of the name for East West Rail before there is anything official will really mess up a lot of history articles. (Personally, I can't really see the name catching again as the word 'Varsity' is very very dated (although still used in the US). My bet is on Oxbridge Line but you were correct to delete that speculation.) So best stick to 'least said, soonest mended' for now.--John Maynard Friedman (talk) 17:23, 16 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

Adding a citation like this[1] is a newbie error, you have been here long enough to do it right. You don't have to use template:cite web but it is a good way to get all the info organised. At least use the short form like this.[2]
