FL update

Hi. You might wanna look at List of songs recorded by Shawn Mendes, as it right now only goes up to 2019 in the lead and his newest songs are missing refs. —Biscuit-in-Chief :-) (/tɔːk//ˈkɒntɹɪbs/) 15:13, 31 May 2022 (UTC)

Thank you, Biscuit-in-Chief. I will have a look as soon as possible.--NØ 15:24, 31 May 2022 (UTC)

Another FA promoted

Kudos, and you're on quite a role! SNUGGUMS (talk / edits) 17:00, 31 May 2022 (UTC)

Thank you, SNUGGUMS! This song is about not taking things for granted so, I figured I shouldn't waste the momentum, lol.--NØ 17:04, 31 May 2022 (UTC)

Promotion of Like I'm Gonna Lose You

Congratulations, MaranoFan! The article you nominated, Like I'm Gonna Lose You, has been promoted to featured status, recognizing it as one of the best articles on Wikipedia. The nomination discussion has been archived.
This is a rare accomplishment and you should be proud. If you would like, you may nominate it to appear on the Main page as Today's featured article. Keep up the great work! Cheers, Ian Rose (talk) via FACBot (talk) 00:05, 1 June 2022 (UTC)

Your GA nomination of Remember the Name (Ed Sheeran song)

The article Remember the Name (Ed Sheeran song) you nominated as a good article has passed  ; see Talk:Remember the Name (Ed Sheeran song) for comments about the article. Well done! If the article has not already appeared on the main page as a "Did you know" item, or as a bold link under "In the News" or in the "On This Day" prose section, you can nominate it within the next seven days to appear in DYK. Bolded names with dates listed at the bottom of the "On This Day" column do not affect DYK eligibility. Message delivered by Legobot, on behalf of AryKun -- AryKun (talk) 06:02, 6 June 2022 (UTC)

Sorry

I promise I wasn't ignoring you on purpose! I sometimes get a lot of pings at once and get overwhelmed, and (so I can focus on content) I then don't end up not looking them until the next day. Congratulations on "Dear Future Husband"! Aza24 (talk) 19:49, 12 June 2022 (UTC)

No (Meghan Trainor song) scheduled for TFA

This is to let you know that the No (Meghan Trainor song) article has been scheduled as today's featured article for July 23, 2022. Please check the article needs no amendments. If you're interested in editing the main page text, you're welcome to do so at Wikipedia:Today's featured article/July 23, 2022, but note that a coordinator will trim the lead to around 1000 characters anyway, so you aren't obliged to do so.

For Featured Articles promoted recently, there will be an existing blurb linked from the FAC talk page, which is likely to be transferred to the TFA page by a coordinator at some point.

We suggest that you watchlist Wikipedia:Main Page/Errors from the day before this appears on Main Page. Thanks! Jimfbleak - talk to me? 13:22, 13 June 2022 (UTC)

Dear Future Husband FAC

You retired today? That's quite a shame. Either way, I'd like to leave some kudos that your nomination succeeded. Well done! SNUGGUMS (talk / edits) 22:30, 25 June 2022 (UTC)

I echo this - sad to hear you retired =( ≫ Lil-Unique1 -{ Talk }- 23:15, 25 June 2022 (UTC)
That's very kind of you two. I moreso put the template up as a reminder for myself to take it easy. I'm still passionate about WP but just strapped for time.--NØ 11:46, 26 June 2022 (UTC)
Good grief! That has spoilt my day. A loss to Wikipedia, but many thanks for your contributions while you were here. You will be missed. Gog the Mild (talk) 12:09, 26 June 2022 (UTC)

DYK for Remember the Name (Ed Sheeran song)

On 26 June 2022, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Remember the Name (Ed Sheeran song), which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that Ed Sheeran wrote "Remember the Name" as a homage to the "cheekier songs" on early Eminem albums? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Remember the Name (Ed Sheeran song). You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Remember the Name (Ed Sheeran song)), and if they received a combined total of at least 416.7 views per hour (i.e., 5,000 views in 12 hours or 10,000 in 24), the hook may be added to the statistics page. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

I have sent you a note about a page you started

Hello, MaranoFan

Thank you for creating Look What You're Doing to Me.

User:North8000, while examining this page as a part of our page curation process, had the following comments:

Reviewed during New Page Patrol. This article has had a lot of "back and forth" between being redirected to the album. In my opinion, this would be best kept as a redirect to the album article. There's little content here other than what is on the record jacket. It fails the SNG. But there is enough quantity and type of sourcing make it a "maybe" regarding GNG and I'm marking it as reviewed. But I still suggest support merging into the album article.

To reply, leave a comment here and begin it with {{Re|North8000}}. Please remember to sign your reply with ~~~~ .

A barnstar for you!

For your work on pop music articles
Noticed your recent edits to "Happier Than Ever" (song) - thank you for helping to improve and expand it when I got there! It felt too short and poor-quality for an article about one of Eilish's most critically acclaimed songs... would be nice if it got the GA or FA topicon sometime in the future :)

Finally, thank you for all your hard work with articles related to Meghan Trainor! Wikipedia needs more editors like you who work on pop artists. Reminds me of how folks are quick to bring new Taylor Swift songs to GA quality, lol. Good luck with your real-life endeavors, and keep safe, ‍ ‍ elias. 🧣 ‍ 💬reach out to me

Thanks for the gesture, Troubled.elias. Actually I created the article and am glad you have expressed interest in it. Would be great if we could improve it to a GA level in the future.--NØ 09:52, 29 June 2022 (UTC)
I'd love that! At this rate it's definitely headed there.
In the meantime, I've added a to-do list on the talk page so that in case you are able to make further improvements, we both know what to do. If all of these are done then we might be able to nominate for GA - just leave something on my talk if you plan to come through with it! You might get your next Four Award with the article, too :") Of course, as with anything we do on Wikipedia, don't feel pressured to do it; take your time and enjoy your break (?) if that's what I should call it? WikiCup 2022 July newsletter

The third round of the 2022 WikiCup has now come to an end. Each of the sixteen contestants who made it into the fourth round had at least 180 points, which is a lower figure than last year when 294 points were needed to progress to round 4. Our top scorers in round 3 were:

  •   BennyOnTheLoose, with 746 points, a tally built both on snooker and other sports topics, and on more general subjects.
  •   Bloom6132, with 683 points, garnered mostly from "In the news" items and related DYKs.
  •   Sammi Brie, with 527, from a variety of submissions related to radio and television stations.

Between them contestants achieved 5 featured articles, 4 featured lists, 51 good articles, 149 DYK entries, 68 ITN entries, and 109 good article reviews. As we enter the fourth round, remember that any content promoted after the end of round 3 but before the start of round 4 can be claimed in round 4. Please also remember that you must claim your points within 14 days of "earning" them. When doing GARs, please make sure that you check that all the GA criteria are fully met. Please also remember that all submissions must meet core Wikipedia policies, regardless of the review process.

If you are concerned that your nomination—whether it is a good article nomination, a featured process, or anything else—will not receive the necessary reviews, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews Needed (remember to remove your listing when no longer required). Questions are welcome on Wikipedia talk:WikiCup, and the judges are reachable on their talk pages or by email. Good luck! If you wish to start or stop receiving this newsletter, please feel free to add or remove your name from Wikipedia:WikiCup/Newsletter/Send. Had a good laugh today

A few days ago I was taking a glance at your user page, and I saw that you had said something about people nominating just any article about their fave to be a good article. Today, I looked at the list of good article nominations, and, almost prophetically, someone (with the word "moonlight" in their username) nominated Thank U, Next for good article status. Look at how the article looks right now. P.S. you should probably change your page notice since you do more for the pedia than most fully active users. --VersaceSpace 🌃 23:02, 10 July 2022 (UTC)

Your GA nomination of To Be Loved (Adele song)

Hi there, I'm pleased to inform you that I've begun reviewing the article To Be Loved (Adele song) you nominated for GA-status according to the criteria.   This process may take up to 7 days. Feel free to contact me with any questions or comments you might have during this period. Message delivered by Legobot, on behalf of Troubled.elias -- Troubled.elias (talk) 15:21, 11 July 2022 (UTC)

@MaranoFan: Hi. Regarding "To Be Loved", for me, Pitchfork slightly missed the genre description. No disrespect for your work MaranoFan, you are a veteran, and you did a great job, but "To Be Loved" is a piano ballad with raw vocals, there is not even a bass guitar or drums; it's minimalistic, a "torch ballad", a sentimental ballad. R&B is the complete antithesis of what this song sounds like → "drum machine-backed rhythms, pitch corrected vocals", "Electronic influences", "hip hop or dance-inspired beats". I just listened to R&B ballads on YouTube 1 2, they all got that heavy beat, nothing sounds raw and natural like "To Be Loved". BBC compared "I Drink Wine" to Elton John and wrote "She outdoes herself on the penultimate track, 'To Be Loved'", nothing about R&B, nor in the Billboard's review of the song --Oroborvs (talk) 19:03, 11 July 2022 (UTC)

Hi Oroborvs, the classification of this song as pop felt a little weird to me too. Nonetheless, Pitchfork is a reliable source and our personal opinions about this constitute WP:OR. I will try to get some second opinions on this, though.--NØ 19:32, 11 July 2022 (UTC)
Indeed, Pitchfork is a reliable source, and I am not surprised by the pop description for the song, as the BBC and Billboard sources above define Adele, overall, in a pop and soul style. Okay.--Oroborvs (talk) 20:41, 11 July 2022 (UTC)

Thank you for the kind words. I am also looking forward to any projects that you will pursue in the future. I completely understand how you feel about these milestones. It feels very surreal that I started editing on Wikipedia back in 2016. That honestly feels like an entire lifetime ago and I feel like I was a completely different person back then. For some reason, I am just not feeling as engaged with Wikipedia as I did all those years ago. I am sure I will find something to re-inspire me in the near future. Anyway, that's enough of me going off on a tangent lol. Just wanted to say that I very much relate to that feeling. Feel free to leave message on my talk page if you ever want to talk about anything. Aoba47 (talk) 02:38, 23 July 2022 (UTC)
I can totally relate to that feeling. My contributions from my first year of editing feel very alien to me now. I am fascinated by the new generation of music editors fairing so much better and getting FAs in their first year, lol. Anyways, I hope things get better.--NØ 02:53, 23 July 2022 (UTC)
Thank you for the article "about Meghan Trainor's song "No", which she released as the lead single from her second major-label studio album. Hot off the heels of her winning the Grammy Award for Best New Artist, "No" became the most positively received single of Trainor's career and drew attention for its music video."! --Gerda Arendt (talk) 19:57, 26 July 2022 (UTC)
