Lars Ulrich

Here's your proof [1] Bencey 21:57, 3 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Thanks. I've updated Lars Ulrich using that citation. In future, and if you don't know how to, you can cite sources yourself. For intructions, see WP:CITE. --Mark (Talk | Contribs | Email) 18:56, 4 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Your comment at PUI

edit

Hi Mark. You asked here to be corrected if you were wrong, and you sort of were. Images that are not in the public domain or available under a free license must comply with our fair use policy. That image of Lars Ulrich does not appear to meet criterion #1 of the policy (also see counterexample #8). You may want to revisit the other images that you have tagged with {{promotional}} and make sure they have a detailed fair use rationale explaining, among other things, the reasons that it is not possible to create a free image of their subjects. If they do not comply with our policy, please list them for deletion so that they do not hurt our chances of acquiring free images that will be able to stay with the articles permanently. Regards ×Meegs 13:06, 8 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Well, many thanks for bringing it up, I'm a bit rusty (to say the least) with fair usage policies. I've refreshed myself with that right now, and yes, your justification to delete that image is perfectly fair and correct. Thanks for taking the time to explain this to me. Regards, Mark (Talk | Contribs | Email) 20:39, 8 January 2007 (UTC).Reply

Your unintended vandalism of Fuck (disambiguation)

edit

Okay, here's a new one. You inadvertently reverted the cleanup edit that had just reverted some blatant vandalism -- in other words, you (actually your vandalbot, WP:VPRF) restored the blatant vandalism. Aye, aye, aye. Well, if it was gonna happen anywhere, I guess this was a good page for it!. :) Cgingold 07:54, 25 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Oops. Never mind! 07:56, 25 January 2007 (UTC)
Well thanks for pointing out my error - I've started using VP only recently and as such am learning how it works - my edit was just a mistake. Also, I think calling my revert vandalism is a bit strong, especially as I reverted my erroneous revert immediately. No hard feelings. Regards, Mark (Talk | Contribs | Email) 17:45, 25 January 2007 (UTC).Reply
Hi, Mark. Since you've replied, I've gone ahead and removed the "invisible text" tags, so my original note(s) will now appear on your talk page. I wasn't sure if you'd even see my note(s), unless you went looking. No sooner had I left that first note, than I discovered that you had already spotted and reverted your own mistake (ergo, "oops. Never mind!"), so I figured the whole thing was moot -- no need to "rub it in". :) I can see how a page like that might trip up a bot. Anyway, I hope it was obvious that I actually found the whole thing rather amusing! Regards, Cgingold 21:25, 25 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Image:Andyburrows.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Andyburrows.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Abu badali (talk) 15:03, 6 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned fair use image (Image:Andyburrows.jpg)

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Andyburrows.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. they didnt need to be on every page just put it on the main page..it gets redicolous to have them everywhere —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Xotheusedguyox (talkcontribs).

I see your reasoning, but as you can see by looking at Category:Band_templates, there are thousands of these templates for bands, and they are used on all the band's pages for albums etc. I'm going to revert all your edits that removed this template. Fair use rationale for Image:Tokyodragons.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Tokyodragons.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. MER-C 12:22, 6 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Image Copyright problem
Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading Image:Euro accession simplified.svg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Polly (Parrot) 21:42, 8 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

AfD nomination of BBClone

edit
An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is BBClone. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also Wikipedia:Notability and "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/BBClone (2nd nomination). Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.

Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 01:08, 5 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
