Image copyright problem with Image:20q.jpg
editThanks for uploading Image:20q.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).
The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images on Wikipedia is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}
.
Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. You can get help on image copyright tagging from Wikipedia talk:Image copyright tags. --OrphanBot 06:59, 18 January 2006 (UTC)
- I'm not sure what I can do to help. I do not know much about copywrite law, but as the picture information states, it was found on a store website and as such was no doubt a press release photo from the 20Q company. However if it has to be deleted then so be it. --Mark 17:25, 23 January 2006 (UTC)

Image Tagging Image:Ed Graham.jpg
editThis media may be deleted.
|
Thanks for uploading Image:Ed Graham.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then there needs to be an argument why we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then it needs to be specified where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.
If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, consider reading fair use, and then use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other media, consider checking that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. 82.83.98.101 16:09, 4 May 2006 (UTC)
Image Tagging for Image:Ed_Graham.jpg
editThanks for uploading Image:Ed_Graham.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:

Cymbals
editHey. I play drums as well and I'm currently using my Premier Olympic stock cymbals, which suck. I was thinking about getting the Planet Z set like you have - are they any good? Mark (Talk | Email) 20:38, 8 June 2006 (UTC)
- Planet Z cymbals are alright. They are the lowest quality by Zildjian but they're not all that bad. I've had them for nearly half a year and I'm quite attached to them. As long as you don't hit them incorrectly they should last. If you want to take it a step further I suggest ZBT, ZXT, or even the A Zildjian line. (I took plane Z because that's all I could afford) Micoolio101 (talk)

edit"At World's End"
editWhen you renamed Pirates of the Caribbean 3 to "At World's End", your edit summary was: That is the name of the film. It's official. Would you please give me a link to the official press release? - Brian Kendig 00:09, 13 July 2006 (UTC)
- Well I haven't seen an official press release, but I thought this would be good enough. Oh well. My apologies. -- Mark (Talk | Email) 20:53, 13 July 2006 (UTC)
Nope, they're just going off the rumors that have been going around. - Brian Kendig 23:40, 13 July 2006 (UTC)
Your VandalProof Application
editDear Mark dr,
Thank you for applying for VandalProof! (VP). As you may know, VP is a very powerful program, and in fact with the new 1.2 version release it has even more power. As such we must uphold strict protocols before approving a new applicant. Regretfully, I have chosen to decline your application at this time. The reason for this is that for security reasons, VandalProof's creator requires its users to have made 250 edits to mainspace articles, which you have not (see under main here). Please note it is nothing personal by any means, and we certainly welcome you to apply again in the not too distant future. Thank you for your interest in VandalProof. Fair use images
editHi, Markdr. I noticed the userboxes you're creating at User:Mark dr/Ubx. However, Wikipedia's fair use policy does not allow images claimed under fair use to be used in the user space. Please remove them. Thanks, Pagrashtak 16:46, 6 September 2006 (UTC)
- OK, thanks for bringing that to my attention, I was not aware of that rule. I've cleared the relavent subpages. Is there a quick way of deleting all the userboxes and pages? --Mark (Talk | Contribs | Email) 14:31, 7 September 2006 (UTC)
- No problem, sorry to be the bearer of bad news. You can mark the pages for deletion with {{db-author}}. Pagrashtak 14:34, 7 September 2006 (UTC)
- Many thanks. --Mark (Talk | Contribs | Email) 19:43, 9 September 2006 (UTC)

Hi, Markdr. I had tagged this for a speedy deletion because it had failed an AfD in July. I was wondering why you detagged it. Is this now notable? Cheers, :) Dlohcierekim 23:31, 25 October 2006 (UTC)
- Hi. I thought it was tagged for speedy deletion because all it contained was vandalism - [1] - it had been that was for three or four edits. That's why I thought it was up for deletion. Feel free to re-tag it, but I feel it is notable as they are the company that has cracked the iTunes copy protection [2] and have been in the news a lot recently. Sorry for any confusion and/or inconvenience. --Mark (Talk | Contribs | Email) 17:57, 26 October 2006 (UTC)
Thanks!
