Fundraising data formatting

edit

Michael, Many thanks for offering to help with the data formatting. Is there an address where I could send you a sample text file? Basically it would be most useful to me if you could great a tab-separated text file sort of like this:

  • Date Time Name Subject Currency Gross Fee Net Note Anonymity Comment
  • 02/17/05 07:39:56 pm Anonymous One time donation AUD 20.00 -1.10 18.90
  • 02/17/05 07:50:23 pm Anonymous One time donation AUD 30.00 -1.45 28.55
  • 02/17/05 09:04:54 pm David Mills One time donation AUD 20.00 -1.10 18.90

where the tabs are between the fields on the first row above, and a space is blank if a datum is missing.

Do you think this would be possible? Thanks! Jeremy Tobacman 22:49, 24 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

Fundraising committee

edit

Greetings! I have been tasked by the board of the Wikimedia Foundation to select the initial membership of the newly-created Fundraising committee. Your qualifications in this area have convinced me that you would be a perfect candidate for advisorship. If you accept this nomination, then do nothing. If you would instead prefer to be a consultant or volunteer or not involved at all, then please move or delete your name accordingly at meta:Fundraising committee. Thank you. --mav

Image Tagging Image:Eagle closeup.jpg

edit

This media may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Eagle closeup.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then there needs to be an argument why we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then it needs to be specified where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other media, consider checking that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Peta 05:29, 26 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for uploading Image:Khachaturian.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

Unspecified source for Image:Khachaturian.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Khachaturian.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 06:56, 2 February 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. --195.113.166.134 06:56, 2 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hello, thanks, and a question

edit

Hello, and thank you for helping with the article on Stanley Zietz. I hope others will help to improve the article on this genius who died too young, helped others, and was optimistic, strong and worth noting.

Question: why was my editing of Philadelphia (magazine) vandalism? I truly do not understand. I added only true statements and supplied references; indeed, I could provide more references. I read what vandalism is and what it is not, and what I added/changed clearly was among "what vandalism is not". I want to do no harm, but I believe in presenting the whole truth, not just partial truth, albeit controversial. Please advise; I want to know, so that I can supply information, the whole truth, yet not do anything wrong. What criteria of vandalism were involved? Please list them, and let us discuss this in a civil, friendly manner. Thank you again. Alfred Legrand 11:22, 6 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Non-free use disputed for Image:Vulcan.planview.640pix.jpg

edit
  This file may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Vulcan.planview.640pix.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Konstable 11:47, 10 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

User:Mbecker/Shit list

edit

I have nominated User:Mbecker/Shit list up for deletion, because I feel it is an attack page. If you have anything to comment about this, you are welcome to do so. Thanks! ~Iceshark7 12:11, 2 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Since you hadn't edited the page since 2005, you might have forgotten that it existed; it looks like something you created in response to situations that have long passed. I deleted it under CSD G10 and closed and delisted the MfD, since it seems silly to draw a lot of attention to a page that hasn't been edited for 2 1/2 years. I hope that any remaining issues with the page can be resolved with talk page discussion between the nominator, you, and me. — Carl (CBM · talk) 12:26, 2 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
