The Boyhood Sessions moved to draftspace
editAn article you recently created, The Boyhood Sessions, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. This is an official release. All you have to do is google it and you can see that As are the other items we’ve tried to add for album entries Not sure what else you need. However if it’s too difficult we won’t bother to update or help McMalcolm (talk) 16:59, 22 June 2021 (UTC)

African Dawn, African Flight
editHello, I received your email about this article. I have made your article redirect to the band's article, as you did not demonstrate the significance of the album as separate from the notability of the band. You need to add reliable sources which establish that the album is a notable music album. I created Draft:African Dawn, African Flight for you - there, you can add sources and improve the article, and then submit it for review. In the alternative, you can add information on the album as the Osibisa page. If you have questions, please respond to me here, or otherwise ask the wider community at somewhere such as the Teahouse. Disambiguation link notification for June 23
editHi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited The Lansdowne Tapes, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page RPM Records. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Speedy deletion nomination of Wendell Richardson
editIf this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Wendell Richardson requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a real person or group of people that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Managing a conflict of interest
editHello, McMalcolm. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page Osibisa, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:
- avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization or competitors;
- propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
- disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI);
- avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam#External link spamming);
- do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.
Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. It seems like you may have a relationship with members of the band or their representatives. It can be extremely valuable to have their input, but if you have a COI here it would help to carefully read the above policies. Firefangledfeathers 17:29, 22 November 2021 (UTC)
I don’t have an external relationship but I do edit and update from a technical and historical point of view. I certainly know what’s being deleted isn’t right, hence hi-lighting it. McMalcolm (talk) 19:00, 22 November 2021 (UTC)
- Thanks for clarifying. I was a bit misled by "Knowing the band history, members, producers (who have all commented asking wtf is going on with the deletions on additions they themselves have supplied)", but that may have been referring to public comments by the members and producers. Firefangledfeathers 19:04, 22 November 2021 (UTC)
Thank-you. After seeing how many recent rollbacks of accurate additions and accuracy changes have been (possibly maliciously) performed by Random Canadian in recent times on items I and others have added to (all fully verifiable on/in issued record and CD albums and various music, distribution and band websites) I think someone needs to look closely at whether there is a questionable motive from/by that specific editor. Every single one of the original edits we contributed to was accurate to our knowledge and fully verifiable. Frankly if there is someone out there running riot with a random delete pen then I’d rather not try to help at present even though I and others want to improve on the accuracy of the information and clearly know the subject matter better than the Random Canadian. There are already queries by others to Random Canadian as to why some of the rollbacks are being applied when things are easily verifiable on artist websites. In my opinion I view their recent actions as petty and malicious, in fact it is hard not to reach this conclusion. I leave it to others to deal with this properly and hopefully address the situation so that the addition of musical knowledge and facts can increase as it all should. In the meantime I won’t bother to add anything else in the fear our time and effort is wasted by the current actions of Random Canadian. If you can direct me where else this information should be placed to help solve this it would be most appreciated.

Album additions and relevant information.
editHi Liz, these are valid album entries that should each have their own separate section so relevant album info can be updated. Each of the ones we put in are CD’s that were released and had or have current distribution worldwide. However after there were a spate of deletions with the Osibisa section (for example the same user deleted all of the ‘singles’ information and then kept deleting nearly all new additions (all valid and verifiable I might add). We gave up as afterall, what is the point of adding or updating the pages with correct, valuable, verifiable information such as singles, albums, contributor info such as producers and the like keeps being deleted. We did put forward a formal complaint but the user seems to sneakily (and cleverly I might add) gotten this turned over or ignored. Frankly we gave up even though we know absolutely what they were (and possibly still are) doing is completely wrong. Hence we know that much good information has been deleted or changed (where it is clearly wrong) because of a random updater’s completely unnecessary hissy fit. I’d love to see these pages updated correctly and diligently like I’m sure anyone else who’s interested in this band (and many others) would like as well. However it works need removal of toxic editors before good intentioned people like myself would bother to do this again. More than happy to help where we can if you would like to take this task on. Osibisa new album entries
editAs per previous note regarding another valid Osibisa album.
Hi Liz, these are valid album entries that should each have their own separate section so relevant album info can be updated. Each of the ones we put in are album CD’s that were released and had or have current distribution worldwide. However after there were a spate of deletions within the Osibisa section (for example the same user deleted all of the ‘singles’ information and then kept deleting nearly all new additions (all valid and verifiable I might add). We gave up as afterall, what is the point of adding or updating the pages with correct, valuable, verifiable information such as singles, albums, contributor info such as producers and the like keeps being deleted by some random, uninformed, clearly vindictive ‘editor’ I use that term loosely of course. We did put forward a formal complaint but the user seems to sneakily (and cleverly I might add) gotten this turned over or completely ignored. Frankly we gave up even though we know absolutely what they were (and possibly still are) doing is completely wrong. It was the sort of idiotic deleting/ editing that actually gives Wiki the bad name for total inaccuracy it gets from time to time. Hence we know that much good information has been deleted or changed (where it is clearly wrong) because of a random updater’s completely unnecessary hissy fit. I’d love to see these pages updated correctly and diligently like I’m sure anyone else who’s interested in this band (and many others) would like as well. However it would need removal of toxic editors like the one alluded to previously before good intentioned people like myself would bother to do this again. More than happy to help where we can if you would like to take this task on. McMalcolm (talk) 19:14, 22 December 2021 (UTC)
