Your contributed article, The birthday of fatimah

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, I noticed that you recently created a new page, The birthday of fatimah. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page – Fatimah. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Fatimah – you might like to discuss new information at the article's talk page.

If you think the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. G S Palmer (talk) 18:21, 23 April 2014 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Reading Quran by Imam Hossein

edit

The article Reading Quran by Imam Hossein has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No sources. Even the notability of this topic is in question - no need for articles like this, while everything can be included as section in existing articles.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Speedy deletion nomination of The reasons of Shiites for following of Imams

edit

A tag has been placed on The reasons of Shiites for following of Imams, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:

It is a copyright violation of http://www.al-islam.org/selected-narrations-about-twelfth-imam-vol-1-lutfullah-safi-al-gulpaygani/chapter-1-traditions as well as original research, an essay, not an encyclopedia article.

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Speedy deletion nomination of The reasons of Shiites for following of Imams

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on The reasons of Shiites for following of Imams requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article or image appears to be a clear copyright infringement. This article or image appears to be a direct copy from http://www.al-islam.org/selected-narrations-about-twelfth-imam-vol-1-lutfullah-safi-al-gulpaygani/chapter-1-traditions. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website or image but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Speedy deletion nomination of The permissibility of imitation of the late Mujtahid(man of Authority)

edit

Hello Mehdi ghaed,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged The permissibility of imitation of the late Mujtahid(man of Authority) for deletion, because it seems to be inappropriate for a variety of reasons.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Prof. Mc (talk) 17:22, 7 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant

edit

Thank you for your recent additions to the 2014 events in this article. However, I ought to point out that we are not supposed to copy exactly the words in the citations, as it may run Wikipedia into trouble over copyright law. (See [1] for guidance on this.) Editors should make entries using their own words, without paraphrasing too closely - making sure they are backed up by the information in the citations, of course. Could you write those two entries again, please, using your own words? Don't worry if your grammar is not perfect; I can tidy that up afterwards if necessary. --P123ct1 (talk) 19:05, 15 August 2014 (UTC)Reply

14 August: Brochures urging Muslims to leave Britain and join ISIS were handed out to shoppers in Oxford Street in central London. Men were described as standing in front of posters declaring "the dawn of a new era has begun" and handing out pro-ISIS brochures. "The khilafah (Caliphate) has been established", one leaflet read, in reference to territories gained in Iraq and Syria after ISIS waged its lightning offensive in recent weeks. Another leaflet said: "We have been living in a constant state of ignorance, our lands separated, resources stolen, ummah disunited, honor humiliated and the laws of shirk established over us."[1]

"Brochures urging Muslims to leave Britain and join the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) group were and handed out to Oxford Street shoppers in central London, The Daily Mail reported Wednesday." First sentence virtually identical. "The newspaper said men, who stood in front of posters declaring “the dawn of a new era has begun,” were handing out pro-ISIS brochures." Second sentence virtually identical. "The khilafah (Caliphate) has been established,” one leaflet read, in reference to territories gained in Iraq and Syria after ISIS waged its lightening offensive in recent weeks. Another leaflet said: “We have been living in a constant state of ignorance, our lands separated, resources stolen, ummah disunited, honor humiliated and the laws of shirk established over us.”

Contradictory sources for Abdul-Malik al-Houthi

Hello Mehdi ghaed. I am contacting you regarding your recent changes to the Abdul-Malik al-Houthi article. Criticism of Twelver edits

edit

Your edits for this article were removed for 2 reasons: 1) they were not related to the specific criticism of the many similarities. The text didn't note that imamolgy shared similarities like divinity with christology so i'm not sure why you brought that up. 2) your wording was very poor. If English is not your native language then please either put more effort into your grammar and punctuation or get help from native speakers.--120.18.15.143 (talk) 01:11, 2 August 2015 (UTC)Reply

English

edit

You have already been told by multiple users that your grip of the English is well below what is acceptable on Wikipedia. Please either ask others for help before adding any more text to articles, or contribute to another Wikipedia in a language in which you are more proficient. Intelligibility is not optional when adding content to article space. If you keep adding content that is not comprehensible (such as this), you may have to be reported for vandalism per Wikipedia:Patent nonsense#Dealing with patent nonsense.--Anders Feder (talk) 03:38, 30 September 2015 (UTC)Reply

@Anders Feder:: it is not comprehensible because you don't have any knowledge on medieval philosophy.you clearly accused me to vandalism. according to Wikipedia you just could alert me: don't bite the newbies by calling them vandals in this case.--m,sharaf (talk) 19:32, 30 September 2015 (UTC)Reply
"you just could alert me" That is exactly what I did. You are not a newcomer, and I have not "accused you vandalism" - I have pointed out that your actions could be reported as such if you keep adding text that is nearly incomprehensible despite repeated notifications from other users that your English is too abstruse.--Anders Feder (talk) 19:45, 30 September 2015 (UTC)Reply
I don't think so.you speak such a way that my pages are wholly nonsense and there is no sense and comprehension in it. it is really unfairness. you insist that I am grip of English, abstruse and other abuses. i think if some one who edit grammar in Wikipedia could promote my pages then these pages would be better. in other hand i don't think that my created pages are in a level that at least they are not absurd and non sense.you don't observe the rules of Wikipedia. i even test my pages according to understandability by hemigwayapp:

http://www.hemingwayapp.com/ it shows my text is good.--m,sharaf (talk) 20:15, 30 September 2015 (UTC)Reply

That website is just a computer program - it can't detect whether the text conveys any meaningful message, which is the same reason that machine translation often produces very low quality results. If you think others would be able to understand the meaning of your text well enough to improve it, then you can write a draft instead of just offloading it in article space. You can even request others to copy-edit your draft.--Anders Feder (talk) 20:30, 30 September 2015 (UTC)Reply
there is no problem in this case. but before copy editing I have to alert you about the subject. according to 2 It is unreasonable to expect a comprehensive article on such subjects to be understandable to all readers. but we try to make it more understandable , in other word , effort should still be made to make the article as understandable as possible, with particular emphasis on the lead section.besides Making articles more understandable does not necessarily mean that detailed technical content should be removed. see:WP:TECH-CONTENT.--m,sharaf (talk) 22:17, 30 September 2015 (UTC)Reply
Detailed is not the same as not being comprehensible. Writing an article that is not comprehensible is trivial, but writing a detailed article that most people can understand is the exact opposite—it takes a lot of effort. Part of that effort can be to either avoid writing in areas that are beyond one's means or at least seeking out others willing to assist in areas where one falls short.--Anders Feder (talk) 01:35, 1 October 2015 (UTC)Reply
I think the problem concerned with the philosophical subject not English skillfully. I think your problem is former not latter. according to Lie-to-children we can not oversimplify the philosophical subject as you want. please see:3--m,sharaf (talk) 08:52, 1 October 2015 (UTC)Reply
Please point me to a single other editor among the 26 million users on Wikipedia who thinks your English is "skillful". There is certainly nothing suggesting that your grip of the subject is very good either—someone with even a scant understanding of the subject would have known that linguistic ability is a prerequisite for discussing philosophy.--Anders Feder (talk) 19:19, 1 October 2015 (UTC)Reply
I don't claim that my English is very good but at the same time my skill is not in such a state that could describe as you did. I put my created pages on copy editor page in Wikipedia but you insist that my understanding is weak. it seems that your intention is not improvement. this is a kind of abuse. you discourage me in editing therefore include in Wikipedia:Harassment--m,sharaf (talk) 07:11, 2 October 2015 (UTC)Reply
A ridiculous charge—I am discouraging you from editing beyond your means. Editing Wikipedia is not a human right, it requires a willingness to respect the guidelines for content and quality. If you are not willing to follow the guidelines that apply to English Wikipedia, you can always try another language's Wikipedia.--Anders Feder (talk) 14:05, 2 October 2015 (UTC)Reply
I try to observe ethics code according to guidelines. but some body like you permanently abused and behave with me like ethnic . your behaviour could be a sample of incivility:Wikipedia:Civility#Identifying_incivility--m,sharaf (talk) 16:40, 2 October 2015 (UTC)Reply
No, I am just pointing out that your English skills are too bad to add content to mainspace. It is _your_ error to add content of such a low standard, not mine or anyone else's. Instead of trying to project the blame for your inabilities onto others, you should focus on listening to what others are telling you. Being in a state of denial is not helpful to anyone, including yourself.--Anders Feder (talk) 19:08, 2 October 2015 (UTC)Reply
I told you many times that I accept my created page reviewed by editors. but you insist that my pages are nonsense. you repeatedly told me you are Iranian, you are Shiite. isn't it :Wikipedia:Civility#Identifying_incivility. besides you don't have any good faith on my pages. i try to reach a consensus with you but your speaking is biding.Wikipedia:Assume good faith--m,sharaf (talk) 19:56, 4 October 2015 (UTC)Reply

Aql Bil Quwwah

edit

Hello, and thank you for your message.

As with the previous edit on active intellect, I see no need for a separate article dealing with the same concept in its Islamic guise; anything there is to say should go in the article on passive intellect under a sub-heading "Passive intellect in Islamic philosophy" or something similar.

I'll look at your draft if I have time, but I don't promise to produce an edited version any time soon: apart from anything else, I probably don't have your detailed knowledge (I have a nodding acquaintance with Avicenna and Averroes, but that's about it). --Sir Myles na Gopaleen (the da) (talk) 10:32, 5 October 2015 (UTC)Reply

Ways to improve Mulla Hamzah Gilani

edit

Hi, I'm Pixarh. Mehdi ghaed, thanks for creating Mulla Hamzah Gilani!

I've just tagged the page, using our page curation tools, as having some issues to fix. Subjects fail to meet the relevant notability guideline (WP:N, WP:BIO). No references.

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, you can leave a comment on my talk page. Or, for more editing help, talk to the volunteers at the Teahouse. Pixarh (talk) 16:14, 19 October 2015 (UTC)Reply

Pixarh. hi and thanks for attention to this page. but I think that there are some references to Corbin,Ashtiyyani refernces. I think according to "The word "source" when citing sources on Wikipedia has three related meanings:
  • The piece of work itself (the article, book)
  • The creator of the work (the writer, journalist) not only there is no contradiction with policies of notability but also there are some evidences verifying that
    on the basis of which:
  1. The book's author is so historically significant that any of the author's written works may be considered notable. This does not simply mean that the book's author is notable by Wikipedia's standards; rather, the book's author is of exceptional significance and the author's life and body of written work would be a common subject of academic study.--m,sharaf (talk) 18:35, 19 October 2015 (UTC)Reply

No. References here at Wikipedia do not mean redirecting back to the same article. I have already explained that references mean providing third party sources and also reliable sources is very important but your article does not even meet the general notability criteria and cannot even be verified. You simply removed the tag without working on your article. No article can stand without references here at Wikipedia.Pixarh (talk) 13:19, 23 October 2015 (UTC)Reply

This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. Instead of referencing via a link to a Google Books website (a so-called bare URL), consider using the Wikipedia citation tool for Google Books. Just copy and paste the link in the "Google Books URL" bar, press "Load" and the tool will show a cite book-style reference in section 3, which you can use in Wikipedia articles. - HyperGaruda (talk) 20:35, 1 January 2016 (UTC)Reply

Hello! Thank you for your recent contributions to Jafar Ishraghi. I did have one note for you. I am working on a maintenance project to clean up Category:Pages using infoboxes with thumbnail images. In the future, please do not use thumbnails when adding images to an infobox (see WP:INFOBOXIMAGE). What does this mean? Well in the infobox, when you specify the image you wish to use, instead of doing it like this:

|image=

Instead just supply the name of the image. So in this case you can simply do:

|image=SomeImage.jpg.

There will then be a separate parameter for the image caption such as |caption=Some image caption. Please note that this is a generic form message I am leaving on your page because you recently added a thumbnail to an infobox. The specific parameters for the image and caption may be different for the infobox you are using! Please consult the Template page for the infobox being used to see better documentation. Thanks!! Speedy deletion nomination of Jafar Ishraghi

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Jafar Ishraghi requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

Your contributed article, Suhrevardi and Illumination school

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, I noticed that you recently created a new page, Suhrevardi and Illumination school. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page – Illuminationism. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Illuminationism – you might like to discuss new information at the article's talk page.

If you think the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. HyperGaruda (talk) 17:47, 17 September 2016 (UTC)Reply

Asian 10,000 Challenge invite

edit

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Asia/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge and Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like South East Asia, Japan/China or India etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. At some stage we hope to run some contests to benefit Asian content, a destubathon perhaps, aimed at reducing the stub count would be a good place to start, based on the current Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon which has produced near 200 articles in just three days. If you would like to see this happening for Asia, and see potential in this attracting more interest and editors for the country/countries you work on please sign up and being contributing to the challenge! This is a way we can target every country of Asia, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant! Thank you. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 05:23, 20 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

Shaikh Abdallah Mazandarani

edit

Hello, Mehdi -- I just wanted you to know that I am not finished copy-editing Shaikh Abdallah Mazandarani. I made quite a few copy-edits, then went back to read the article before I saved my edits. I decided to move the dates to after his name at the beginning of the article, but somehow I pasted the dates after the word "Persian" and the name in Persian letters. When I tried to highlight the dates so I could move them to after the name in Persian letters, I couldn't. Since I didn't want to lose all the work I had done, I saved my edits. Then I tried again, but to no avail. I have asked another editor for help on this. I may end up having to undo my edits and start again. Please wait until I hear from that other editor to make any copy-edits.

In the meantime, I might as well ask you a few questions:

1) In the title of the article and at the beginning of the article, you spell the name "Abdallah". Then, beginning in the "Early life" section, you spell it "Abdullah". Was his name really spelled "Abdullah" when he was young and "Abdallah" when he was an adult? Or shall we make the spelling consistent throughout the article?

2) If his complete name was "Molla Abdullah Langrudi", shouldn't that be given at the beginning of the article? I was thinking that, at the beginning of the "Early life" section, it would sound good to say, "Born Molla Abdullah Langrudi, his father...", but is "Molla" really part of his name or was it a title (like "Mullah")? If it was a title, then it wasn't really part of his name, was it? If that is true, then we can't say he was born with that name (i.e., given that name at birth). If "Molla" is a title rather than part of his name, we could say, "Born Abdullah Langrudi,...", and then say he was known as "Molla Abdullah Langrudi" in his early years. Let me know, so we can write this correctly.

3) In the "Early life" paragraph, you say, "Then he went to Najaf, the other important city, to continue his studies." I have two questions about this sentence:

(a) When you say, "the other important city", you are saying that there were only two important cities. If that is the case, then it is all right, but you should also indicate in what way it was important – important to whom or important for what reason? Maybe it would be enough just to add the word "Shia" before "city" – "the other important Shia city". What do you think about that? Would that be correct? If there were more than two important [Shia] cities, then it should be "another important Shia city".

(b) You said that he studied science: "took part in the scientific courses". That's all right, but since he was a religious leader, don't you want to say that he studied theology at some point?

4) In the lead and in the section "Political life" you mention "constitutional movement" and "constitutionalism". I think these need a little explanation. It might also be a good idea to link them to an article (in Wikipedia) that would enable a reader to read more about this movement.

5) In the middle of the "Political life" section, you have a sentence that begins (now):

  • He had an important role both before and after the constitutional movement.

Since what you had written was a little unclear, I had to guess about what you meant here. I got it at least to be a grammatically correct sentence. However, I may not have gotten the facts exactly right. The problem with "before and after" is that it leaves out "during", which you may not want to do (but "before, during, and after" is a little wordy – too many words). Perhaps we can say, "He played an important role in the constitutional movement".

6) I see you have a section with the heading "Teachers". Were all those teachers science teachers? Or were some (or all) of them teachers of theology? Would it be possible to turn this list into a paragraph and say "Abdullah studied science under..... and theology under...." Or just "Abdullah studied theology under a, b, c, d, and e." Would it be possible (that is, do you know) where he studied with these teachers? Were they all in Najaf, or were some in Karbala and some in Najaf?  – Corinne (talk) 02:57, 8 December 2016 (UTC)Reply

Hello Corinne, before anything it is necessary to appreciate of you for copy editing. I try to respond questions respectively

1) I observed both Abdallah and Abdullah. But according to Iranica which is phonologically valid at least in Arabic it is better to write Abdallah in all place.

2) The name and family name mentioned here is famous. However the shaikh Abdallah Mazandarani is more prevalent that Molla Abdullah langrudi though the latter is his original name but he is known by the former. Olla is just a title not anymore.

3) A: It is important city for Shia since that those cities considered as religious centers of shia in that period.

B: that’s right but I want to say that he participate in different courses in diverse places.

4) You are right. Surly I link it to the Wikipedia page.

5) Solely I want to say that during that movement he had eminent role.

6) I prefer that the section would be separated of the other side. But if you realize that it’s better for article according to framework of wiki then you could to change it.--m,sharaf (talk) 06:15, 9 December 2016 (UTC)Reply

I don't know why, but I didn't see your responses until today. I've made a few more edits. I still think you need to do two more things to clear up some things for your readers:
1) Indicate why the name in the title and at the beginning of the article is different from his birth name. When, and/or why, did he take on a new name?
2) If he studied theology at any point in his life, I think that should be mentioned. Otherwise, it sounds like he only studied science.
I didn't change the instances of "Abdullah" to "Abdallah". (I think "Abdullah" is a more common spelling in English, if that matters.)  – Corinne (talk) 16:44, 16 February 2017 (UTC)Reply

Talk:Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action copyedit request

edit

As a result of this discussion, your request has been declined. The GOCE's scope is article space, and copediting a talk page is a probable violation of WP:TPO. It sounds like you need dispute resolution rather than copyediting. Good luck and all the best, Miniapolis 20:55, 30 January 2017 (UTC)Reply

March Madness 2017

edit

G'day all, please be advised that throughout March 2017 the Military history Wikiproject is running its March Madness drive. This is a backlog drive that is focused on several key areas:

  • tagging and assessing articles that fall within the project's scope

As with past Milhist drives, there are points awarded for working on articles in the targeted areas, with barnstars being awarded at the end for different levels of achievement.

The drive is open to all Wikipedians, not just members of the Military history project, although only work on articles that fall (broadly) within the military history scope will be considered eligible. More information can be found here for those that are interested, and members can sign up as participants at that page also.

The drive starts at 00:01 UTC on 1 March and runs until 23:59 UTC on 31 March 2017, so please sign up now.

G'day all, please be advised that throughout April 2018 the Military history Wikiproject is running its annual backlog elimination drive. This will focus on several key areas:

  • tagging and assessing articles that fall within the project's scope
  • adding or improving listed resources on Milhist's task force pages
  • updating the open tasks template on Milhist's task force pages
  • creating articles that are listed as "requested" on the project's various lists of missing articles.

As with past Milhist drives, there are points awarded for working on articles in the targeted areas, with barnstars being awarded at the end for different levels of achievement.

The drive is open to all Wikipedians, not just members of the Military history project, although only work on articles that fall (broadly) within the scope of military history will be considered eligible. This year, the Military history project would like to extend a specific welcome to members of Wikipedia:WikiProject Women in Red, and we would like to encourage all participants to consider working on helping to improve our coverage of women in the military. This is not the sole focus of the edit-a-thon, though, and there are aspects that hopefully will appeal to pretty much everyone.

The drive starts at 00:01 UTC on 1 April and runs until 23:59 UTC on 30 April 2018. Those interested in participating can sign up here.
