Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading Image:Poselska by MSteckiw.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI 19:06, 17 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Canada

edit

The article already contains several images of Montreal. And by adding your image where you did, you're also messing up the page formatting because text cannot wrap around two images simultaneously — which means that your image causes the Niagara Falls image on the other side of the page to overlap the text, which is absolutely not permissible. Please do not readd the image to this article yourself. Bearcat 21:19, 17 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Please do not add random images to this article in places where they obviously do not belong. Mathsci 09:14, 18 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Witaj w angielskiej Wikipedii. You uploaded a few pictures from Kraków and added them to many different articles at the same time. I’m afraid, this is not how we do things around here. First of all, the pictures should be uploaded to Wikimedia Commons, providing that you are the copyright owner. Second, there are galleries of pictures from Kraków in Commons where your pictures should go first under free GNU licence, not repetitiously in every article related to Kraków. And finally, the way you put them in messes up the layouts and logical progression of some of those articles.

  • You added picture “Sukiennice by MSteckiw.jpg” to eight articles. Not good...
  • The picture “Rynek by MSteckiw.jpg” is added to seven articles. Why?
  • The picture “Slowacki by MSteckiw.jpg” is added to seven articles, etc.

I’d like to ask you to upload your pictures to Commons first (here), and put them in galleries by adding categories and please, use each picture in the maximum of two articles which are not directly related. Thanks. Please use following categories when saving your pictures:

  • [[Category:Kraków]] [1]
  • [[Category:Sukiennice]] [2]
  • [[category:Buildings in Kraków]] [3]
  • [[category:Old Town Market Square in Kraków]]
  • [[Category:Skylines of Kraków]]
  • [[category:Cloth halls in Poland]]
  • [[Category:Skylines in Poland]]
  • [[Category:renaissance architecture in Poland]] etc.

Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading File:International Wireless Cities Summit in Toronto, January 2007.jpg.

This image is a derivative work, containing an "image within an image". Examples of such images would include a photograph of a sculpture, a scan of a magazine cover, or a screenshot of a computer game or movie. In each of these cases, the rights of the creator of the original image must be considered, as well as those of the creator of the derivative work.

While the description page states who made this derivative work, it currently doesn't specify who created the original work, so the overall copyright status is unclear. If you did not create the original work depicted in this image, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright.

If you have uploaded other derivative works, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F4 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 20:33, 14 January 2024 (UTC). If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. --TheImaCow (talk) 20:33, 14 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
