Mikel Ward
Hello Mikel Ward and welcome to Wikipedia! Hope you like it here, and stick around.
Here are some tips to help you get started:
- To sign your posts (on talk pages, for example) use the '~' symbol. To insert just your name, type ~~~ (3 tildes), or, to insert your name and timestamp, use ~~~~ (4 tildes).
- Try the Tutorial, and feel free to experiment in the test area.
- If you need help, post a question at the Help Desk
- Follow the Wikipedia:Simplified Ruleset
- Eventually, you might want to read the Manual of Style and Policies and Guidelines.
- Remember Wikipedia:Neutral point of view
- Explore, be bold in editing pages, and, most importantly, have fun!
Good luck!
Hi and thanks for joining the WikiProject Melbourne! There's definitely plenty of work to be done, and you're adding information about the city's electoral divisions, and the information about Caulfield station are a great help. How about adding something on your suburb? You could also adopt an article, (but don't feel that you have to). Anyways, always feel free to discuss the project at its talk page, or anything else at my talk page. TPK 17:19, 12 Sep 2004 (UTC)
Melbourne articles
editHey there, I don't know if you've checked up on the WikiProject Melbourne recently, but a few of us have decided to adopt an article or two. The idea is to pick a lacking article and "be in charge" of it - do the research, writing, maybe even picture-taking. We're trying to build up the number of qualiy articles, instead of thinly-spread stubs. Don't feel you have to do anything :), but if you want, pick an article and add yourself to the list. I see that you are listed as a participant in the WikiProject Melbourne. If you are a Melbourne resident I would appreciate your views on the suggested Meetup in March . Please give some indication of your interest, or otherwise, in the idea. Even a simple "No thanks" with your user name would be welcome and assist in assessing the level of support for a meetup. Thank you.. Cuddy Wifter 06:30, 28 February 2006 (UTC)
Type specimens
editHi Michael. Thanks for the compliment. Sure you can help. I use QuarkXPress and Adobe Illustrator. I expect you could bring one of the specimens into a program as a template/pattern. I'd be happy to make the Lucida specimen for you, Calibri is an MS typeface I do not have. It will likely be bundled in my next update of MS Word or Entourage. For the most part I try to show the lcomplete lowercase, figures, and usually Aa, Ee Rr, A word that reflects the pl;ace and time of the typeface is selected for the sample world. Good luck, let me know how it goes.Best, Jim CApitol3 11:53, 23 April 2007 (UTC)
