Hi Minorax,
The 3 photos (via links below) are my own work. How do I “cite/code” that it’s my own images because my pages are up for deletion very soon?
Thank you.

File:Haidar Hadi.png
Hi Minorax. When you come across a low-res file with questionable licensing or a claim of "own work" like File:Haidar Hadi.png, you might first want to try a Google reverse image or TinEye search because in most cases the original image can be found somewhere online. There's nothing wrong per se with bring such files up for discussion at FFD, but sometimes they can be tagged for speedy deletion instead per WP:F9. If you're unable to find any other versions of the file online, but it's still pretty obvious that it's not "own work", you could also probably tag the file with {{npd}} per WP:F10. It can also sometimes be helpful to check the uploader's talk page or contribution history to see if there's anything about the file mentioned. If you look at User talk:Hadi Haidar Hadi#Speedy deletion nomination of File:Haidar Hadi.png, you'll see a file with this same name was previously nominated for speedy deletion per F9 back in 2017. That file was deleted per this, but then re-uploaded the same day. Sometimes it's a different file with the same name, but sometimes it's the same file simply re-uploaded. Asking an admin to check which is which is often faster than FFD, and an admin will delete the file as a copyvio if it's the same file. -- Marchjuly (talk) 14:17, 26 February 2023 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of File:BPIFfamily-BPIF-A4P.png
Huh??? Can you take a look and tell me what's going on? Over the months of Jan - Feb, for various reasons I took on the task of fixing, updating, and even authoring new pages for a multigene family that includes BPIFA1, BPIFA2, BPIFA3, BPIFA4P, BPIFB1, BPIFB1, BPIFB2, BPIFB3, BPIFB4, BPIFB5P, BPIFB6, and BPIFB9P. I prepared a schematic diagram of the whole group and highlighted each gene/protein in yellow and saved each as a separate image. I then included each corresponding image in the WP page for each gene/protein. So far, so good. But I just got a message that one of those images has been tagged for speedy deletion (File:BPIFfamily-BPIF-A4P.png). Obviously I'm going to contest that since there is zero reason for it to be deleted and there are over a dozen reasons why it's important and should stand. But when I inspect that file, there is no tag. There is no button to "Contest this speedy deletion." I'm guessing there was a mistake, but whatever it is, can you please check this and help prevent deletion of this figure? Thanks. Lapabc (talk) 02:28, 7 March 2023 (UTC)
- You created a local page for said file but I believe that you intended to edit File:BPIFfamily-BPIF-A4P.png. --Minorax«¦talk¦» 11:31, 7 March 2023 (UTC)
- I'm sorry, I don't understand what you mean by "local page". Did I create two copies of that image -- one as an image file and one as a local page? If there is local page, I don't see where it is -- or did it already get deleted? My only concern is that the image located in File:BPIFfamily-BPIF-A4P.png is properly linked to the BPIFA4P page.Lapabc (talk) 23:24, 7 March 2023 (UTC)

Stub sorting
Hi. I've been doing stub sorting on behalf of the Pennsylvania WikiProject, and have kept most of the Pennsylvania articles that I've worked on on my watchlist to keep track of my progress and the progress of the articles so that I can continue updating the article ratings as they're improved by other Wikipedians. I just noticed that, while you've been doing your own stub sorting, you appear to have accidentally undone a lot of my work by re-tagging articles as stubs that really aren't stubs any longer. (You haven't been reverting me; you've just been re-tagging articles that I have just recently untagged.) I just wanted to reach out to let you know that there may possibly be a bug in whatever bot/other software you're using (StubSorter, I believe?), and also to see if we might find a way to work together so that we're not accidentally undermining each other's work? Kind Regards. - 47thPennVols (talk) 08:32, 25 March 2023 (UTC)
- Hello. I'm just doing a one time sort of stubs and probably won't go back to the Wikiproject's scope of articles anytime soon. Feel free to undo my edits if they're no longer a stub. Sorry for the inconvenience. --Minorax«¦talk¦» 08:36, 25 March 2023 (UTC)

The cleanup of several piped names, from [[New York Polyclinic Medical College|''New York Polyclinic Medical College'']] to ''[[New York Polyclinic Medical College]]'' is helpful.
Note that when our lists show an opening date and a date of closure, we don't find it useful to place the second date into DTS format. (This one was news to me until a few months ago, when we had a discussion, and abandoned the practice.) This template is designed for table sort functions. Current sort functionality only reads the first instance of the date in that field. Revising {{dts|1904|10|25}} – October 1913 to {{dts|1904|10|25}} – {{dts|1913|10}} is harmless, but that second DTS instance cannot be invoked for any sorting purpose, to my knowledge. since you didn't see my question at TfD, what is your solution to remove Template:Country data Province of Ciudad Real from Category:Uncategorized country data templates if Template:Country data Province of Ciudad Real/doc is deleted? Frietjes (talk) 16:44, 24 April 2023 (UTC)

These images have been there since 22 Jan 2009 - 14.5 years - and have satisfied Wikipedia's requirements for 14.5 years.
- 1) What has changed that suddenly makes them "unacceptable".
- 2) Why, after being there for 14.5 years, do they suddenly need deleting?
Pdfpdf (talk) 13:11, 4 June 2023 (UTC)
- Simply putting "WP" as a source is not helpful for license verification. It might be okay 14 years ago, but it certainly isn't now. --Minorax«¦talk¦» 13:20, 4 June 2023 (UTC)
- So what are you, and/or wikipedia doing to address the problem that something that has been OK for 14.5 years is suddenly not OK now? Pdfpdf (talk) 13:46, 4 June 2023 (UTC)
- P.S. Further, I asked you two questions. You have made zero effort to answer either of them. Pdfpdf (talk) 13:47, 4 June 2023 (UTC)
- Well, nothing much has changed since 2009 (current). So, when this file was uploaded back in 2009, there's already a problem with the source stated. Not being found back in 2009 doesn't mean it won't get found later. --Minorax«¦talk¦» 13:58, 4 June 2023 (UTC)
