Yes, hello Mister Hockey and welcome to Wikipedia. First of all, yes I am a Blue Jays fan, as well as a diehard Maple Leafs fan, so really we shouldn't have any issues unless our two teams meet in the finals. But anyways, the best resource there is on Wikipedia for ice hockey editing is the Ice Hockey WikiProject, that is where most of the users who are heavy into hockey editing congregate and discuss how to go forward with things. I would highly recommend joining up with that. But yes, I am willing to "adopt" you and feel free to ask for any help you need. Probably the best advice I can give you to start off is, find something on Wikipedia that you enjoy doing but if or when it becomes a chore, don't force yourself to keep doing it... that's how users get fed up and usually leave. Are there any more specific questions you have for me at the moment? Croat CanuckSay helloor just talk18:31, 30 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
Well I can see you already found the Baseball WikiProject, so there's no need to answer your question. Yeah that save that Accardo blew is the final nail in the coffin, and many nails it needed... there's always next year, and besides, NHL training camp opens this week anyways. Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions to the Duncan Mackay article, but for legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted.
You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.
If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must include on the external site the statement "I, (name), am the author of this article, (article name), and I release its content under the terms of the GNU Free Documentation License, Version 1.2 and later."
Dear Mister Hockey! You are receiving as you are a member of WikiProject Ice Hockey There's been more new thing going on at WP:HOCKEY, and I think this will help you to stay informed. Since the last newsletter sent out in August, there's been great changes. Read on to find out! Maxim(talk)
Especially due to the featured topic drive, there have been many new featured lists promoted concerning NHL awards. Here's the full list of all the 13 FL's promoted since the last newsletter.[1][2]
^The last one, List of Calgary Flames players, is the only one not associated with the featured topic drive.
^At the time of publishing, there were 5 lists at WP:FLC and 2 lists in the "Holding cell", as there's been an accepted guideline to not put more that 5 trophy lists at the same time to, "compensate for the sanity of the reviewers".
Check the project page if you are interested in helping out. Although it's closer to being done than not, there's still work to be done. The next topic that might be tackled is Stanley Cup, but this remains purely speculative and in discussion.

Actually, I didn't mean to re-add Quincey. What I did was undo your post because your post had Kronwall deleted, and I figured until Detroit makes their final cuts, I would leave Meech off. But after all the opening day rosters are finalized, I plan on thoroughly going through them to see who makes their respective teams.
And speaking of which, I noticed you edited the 2007-08 Ducks season which completely messed up the tables. If you want to make contributions, but can't get the tables to work properly, please undo all your work and test out the page in Sandbox Mode. Thank you. Thricecube23:42, 1 October 2007 (UTC)Reply
The three-month long Summer Assessment Drive, organized by Psychless, was a huge success! It ran from June 1 – September 1, and reduced the backlog of unassessed articles from 113,385 to 56,237. In all, over 100,000 articles were assessed. Over 60 people contributed in some way.
A barnstar has been created for exceptional work on Wikipedia biographies and for assisting the project. The Biography Barnstar is listed with the other WikiProject awards and can be awarded easily with a template. See the template page for more details.
The newsletter is back! Many things have gone on during the past few months, but many things have not. While the assessment drive helped revitalize the assessment department of the project, many other departments have received no attention. Most notably: peer review and our "workgroups". A day long IRC meeting has been planned for October 13th, with the major focus being which areas of the project are "dead", what should our goals be as a project, and how to "revive" the dead areas of our project. Contribute to the discussion on the the new channel (see below)
We decided to deliver this newsletter to all project members this month but only those with their names down here will get it delivered in the future.
This is your newsletter and you can be involved in the creation of the next issue. Any and all contributions are welcome. Simply let yourself be known to any of the undersigned or post news on the next issue's talk page
New irc channel
Lastly, a new WikiProject Biography channel has been set up on the freenode network:

See also wikiproject template for other work groups with their wikiprojects as well as provinces which can be added to the Canadian template
The new template and assessment table worklist is produced periodically and was created by Arctic Gnome. Thank you very much! Please take a moment to send an award or other recognition

Article Improvement Drive
Article Improvement Drive: Articles can now be assessed, and this is the showing for top rated GA and FA class articles as well as stub articles. Please help rate articles, and contribute to improved status.
There are currently about no Saskatchewan articles at WP:GAN waiting to be reviewed. :-( If you have not considerably edited one of the articles, you can perform a review by following these instructions.
There are currently no Saskatchewan related articles waiting to be assesed for feature article... :-( FACs.
Please help B class articles move into GA class and GA class articles move toward Feature status.
Add content to stub articles to improve their status.
In December there were over 797 articles which needed template changes from the original Saskatchewan talk page banner to the new Canada - provincial talk page banner. This has been completed!!!
Wikiproject Saskatchewan now has 0.5% FA articles 0.22% GA articles, about 5% B class articles, about 35% Start class articles and 68% stub class articles.
Saskatchewan related articles contribute 1,799 / 19,566 articles, or 9.19 % of Canadian related articles!!!
Please help to tag articles! On the assessment page are the actual articles listed which have been tagged with Canadian projects and Saskatchewan content. The result is...please, if you read this, help to tag Saskatchewan sports articles with both Saskatchewan, and Canadian sports project templates checked off as yes! Some sports articles may also need the appropriate general sports wikiproject talk template or a Wikiproject biography talk template as well.
There are 6 articles written which overlap both the 1850 tagged Saskatchewan and the 870 tagged Canadian Music articles.
Canadian Federal Government articles which relate to Saskatchewan are the following 14 articles, a couple of which are rated FA.
The most tagged articles are Saskatchewan communities. Saskatchewan Communities & Neighbourhoods comprise 551 articles - tagged with both the Saskatchewan communities and neighbourhoods template, as well as the new Canadian - provinces template.
The Portal Saskatchewan peer review has produced some excellent suggestions, many of which have been enacted. Some of the portal categories should be added to Saskatchewan wikiproject such as the instructions on how to add content to a box portal concept.
To go forward to apply for PORTAL feature status, 10 articles, 10 biogrphies, 10 images which are qualified as good or feature should be added to the portal in the various areas.
Shanemcd (talk·contribs) has contributed to the organization of which placenames are town, villages, hamlets, etc by going above and beyond the call of duty. There has been numerous new recognized content, so much that it's too time-consuming to sift through the "trophy cases" on WP:HOCKEY. Some interesting achievements:
2016 NHL Draft has been newly created and has immediately become a GA status article.
We are working to create a new task force within the WikiProject to deal with topics related to the Pittsburgh Penguins. It hasn't been created yet; but it aims to expand articles based on former and current Pittsburgh Penguins players and articles. Good luck!
The original featured topic drive, initiated by Scorpion0422, has concluded succesfully. National Hockey League awards is now a featured topic, with 24 articles in total. Of them, 20 are featured lists, one is a featuredarticle, and the other three are trophy articles that were too short to become featured lists. Eight users signed up to help out, shown here. The next Featured Topic hasn't been decided upon, and the ideas and organization for it fell apart. If you have any ideas, don't hesitate to share them at WT:HOCKEY.
More editors are needed to help out with the newsletter. The newsletter creator doesn't have an infinite nor perfect supply of ideas, and thus he might omit some interesting news.

New highway change for Saskatchewan. Saskatchewan adopted the International metric system in 1971, and even though school trustees would like the imperial system returned to the classrooms, there is a new change intended for Saskatchewan. The latest news to hit the province of Saskatchewan is to adapt the new traffic directionality concept that Saskatchewan drivers will undertake. As of the beginning of the month, drivers will begin driving on the left side of the road rather than the right side. Which Side Of The Road To Drive On? Prince Albert is one of the Saskatchewan city articles which has been growing by leaps and bounds. Many communities are being created and are picked up by the new article robot. Please help to tag these and all community articles with the new assessment talk page banner at Template:WikiProject Canada. *Stub class just barely introduces the topic, much is missing.
Start class gives a bit more knowledge but it shows one of these to expand upon a stub article;
a particularly useful picture or graphic
multiple links that help explain or illustrate the topic
a subheading that fully treats an element of the topic
multiple subheadings that indicate material that could be added to complete the article
B-Class checklist
1. It is suitably referenced, and all major points are appropriately cited.
2. It reasonably covers the topic, and does not contain major omissions or inaccuracies.
3. It has a defined structure, including a lead section and one or more sections of content.
4. It is free from major grammatical errors.
5. It contains appropriate supporting materials, such as an infobox, images, or diagrams.

From the Editors
Baseball has a history unlike any other sport. It has been played in countless countries throughout the decades, and it will undoubtedly continue play for many more. On this eve, some the finest players the sport has to offer will take the field at the Yankee Stadium. Four popes spoke there, Pelé scored goals there, "The Greatest [football] Game Ever Played" was battled out there, John Philip Sousa lead a band there, George Costanza worked there; but what do all these events have in common? They fail to reach the level of greatness that the baseball that was played there did.
In 1923, a man named Babe Ruth decided to build a new house, and over the years, that house was a home to some of the greatest baseball ever played. If I were to list out all of these great moments, it would be longer than the bill for the New Yankee Stadium. So I'll sum it up by saying that we can remember these great moments by adding them to this place we've gathered at for future generations to read about, to learn about, to dream about; but more importantly we can watch tonight and we can remember how baseball is unlike anything else that we will encounter in our lives. — Blackngold29

A posting from Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Canada Roads A bot is going around tagging various articles for missing coordinates. One recent tagging was on Highway 8 (Ontario) (see [1]). Given that a road will have numerous coordinates, what sort of coordinates should be defined for Canadian road articles, if any? Terminus points, perhaps control cities would be obvious candidates. Saskatchewan photographs
when you are traveling or looking through old pictures, if there are any of Saskatchewan roads, highways or Saskatchewan highway signs that you would wish to upload to wikimedia commons, it would be appreciated. It would be good to show our highways in various seasons as well as with various geographical terrains. Of especial import when getting involved with photographing highways are junctions, scenic points of interest, historical markers, intersections, divided highways, road crews, historical road crews, historical travel on highways, overpasses, underpasses and road signs showing concurrencies between various highways.
If you have started an article for Saskatchewan, and wikimedia commons does not have a related Saskatchewan image, then place this code on the article's talk page below the banner for Saskatchewan {{reqphotoin|Saskatchewan}} and your request will be added to the above category.
If you have added a request for a map, there are now locator maps for Saskatchewan available which should alleviate some of the requests added at Wikipedia requested maps in Saskatchewan For example see Saskatoon for a locator map in use.

Use the Outreach welcome template and extend a welcome to new users who are writing about Saskatchewan.
Biographies
With father's day upcoming, focus is on writing up some biographies on some notable Saskatchewan people. Please categorise these with one of the sub categories from Category:People from Saskatchewan and use the talk page banner and check off Saskatchewan=yes as biographies are harder to trace for inclusion than other Saskatchewan titular articles. With such categories-banners being used, the articles are more likely to be found and expanded by other Saskatchewan users. Take some time to find biographies of Saskatchewan folk on wikipedia currently and categorise-banner them as well.

Labour Day & Saskatchewan's Anniversary Article Drive
Labour Day is Monday September 1, and Saskatchewan celebrates its 104 anniversary of joining confederation on September 4, 1905. Goal would be to improve the Saskatchewan article to feature status or add main Saskatchewan topical articles or improve topics of Saskatchewan articles.
The Portal:Saskatchewan is undergoing its second anniversary showcasing to the WWW wikipedia articles about Saskatchewan content which have achieved good or featured class criteria. Please add more contributions to wikipedia and to the portal itself. If you have suggestions for the portal or want help with the "box formatting style of programming" drop a note on the portal talk page.
With fall and school starting up this late August and early September, it is time to start or upgrade the various secondary and post secondary education and Higher education in Saskatchewan articles for Saskatchewan or help with requests . Ensure that principals, vice principals, and current curricula and extracurricular activities are accurate for the 2009-2010 school year. Notable changes in curricula and extracurricular activities could be added to a history section. The newest education article seems to be an U of S article on the University of Saskatchewan Physical Activity Complex. List of universities in Canada this article was recently demoted from Featured list status. If anyone can work on this article and the new requirements to get it re-instated this would be awesome.

If there was a collaboration department, then the North-West Rebellion, and its several child articles such as its battles and people would be excellent articles to find references for, expand and achieve GA or FA status. In the words of Tourism, Parks, Culture and Sport Minister Christine Tell who proclaimed, that "the 125th commemoration, in 2010, of the 1885 Northwest Resistance is an excellent opportunity to tell the story of the prairie Métis and First Nations peoples' struggle with Government forces and how it has shaped Canada today."[1]
At this time, as well, the articles Aboriginal peoples in Canada and First Nations are undergoing GA review. For an idea of updating the Northwest Rebellion articles watch these two articles or assist with their upgrade.
Feature articles are being re-called due to a lack of "alt tags" for the images included in the articles, as in the ongoing screening of FA articles; Canada and Territorial evolution of Canada. When beginning or updating a Saskatchewan related article, ensure the use of alt tags, which will save time later when upgrading the article.
Please make use of Wikipedia School and University projects and project instrutions on wikipedia, inform fellow students, classes, or school instructors. Higher education in Saskatchewan, was a part of a project that encompassed higher education in all the provinces and territories of Canada. As well students in public schools have been working on Saskatchewan town articles in the past.

Hello and welcome back to the WikiProject Saskatchewan newsletter! I, User:Presidentman, am the new editor. You may see some changes due to the fact it's my first newsletter. I'm just going easy on myself, but it will get more complex as time goes on.

We’re excited to announce that User:Presidentman has joined WikiProject Saskatchewan as our Editor in Chief. Presidentman will oversee editorial content and the Saskatchewan Wikiproject community contributions on the Wikiproject newsletter. Presidentman has also successfully developed the Picture of the Day project and has been active on wikipedia for close to three years in a plethora of projects enriching wikipedia with close to 3,000 contributions. The transition between our old editor and the new has been smoother than any of us could have hoped for — SriMesh wrote their last newsletter article for January, 2010, and Presidentman started up without missing a beat for February 2010. The previous years for SriMesh, the past editor, had been richly rewarding, seeing subscriptions grow, informing interested editors of developments and changes to the Saskatchewan wikipedia community and supporting activities on the Saskatchewan Wikiproject. It is now time for me to move to new writing projects to finish, and further responsibilities which are vying for my attention. Please join me in welcoming Presidentman to the their new position! Presidentman is working on a host of new features and an updated look, which will take things to a new level. It is wonderful to have a new editor to bring in the new year! Expect great things.

Hi. You may be interested in participating in the African Destubathon which starts on October 15. Africa currently has over 37,000 stubs and badly needs a quality improvement editathon/contest to flesh out basic stubs. There are proposed substantial prizes to give to editors who do the most articles, and planned smaller prizes for doing to most destubs for each of the 53 African countries, so should be enjoyable! So it would be a good chance to win something for improving stubs on African sportspeople, including footballers, athletes, Olympians and Paralympians etc, particularly female ones, but also male. Even if contests aren't your thing we would be grateful if you could consider destubbing a few African articles during the drive to help the cause and help reduce the massive 37,000 + stub count, of which many are rated high importance (think Regions of countries etc). If you're interested in competing or just loosely contributing a few expanded articles on African Paralympians, Olympians and committees etc, please add your name to the Contestants/participants section. Diversity of work from a lot of people will make this that bit more special. Thanks. --MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 21:14, 6 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

Hi, Wikipedia:WikiProject Canada/The 10,000 Challenge is up and running based on Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge for the UK which has currently produced over 2300 article improvements and creations. If you'd like to see large scale quality improvements happening for Canada like The Africa Destubathon, which has produced over 1600 articles in 5 weeks, sign up on the page. The idea will be an ongoing national editathon/challenge for Canada but fuelled by a contest such as The North America Destubathon to really get articles on every province and subject mass improved. I would like some support from Canadian wikipedians here to get the Challenge off to a start with some articles to make doing a Destubathon worthwhile! Cheers. --MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 01:55, 22 November 2016 (UTC)Reply
