Merry Christmas From The Morse Family

edit

Hi could you check out the action being proposed on Merry Christmas From The Morse Family (album) please and make your comments - not trying to influence you but - you'll see what I mean I hope. ~~

I added my contribution, but the vote is decidedly against this article, at least as of now. I wonder if it's because people don't know who Neal Morse is, or if they truly feel that this is a non-notable album, even if released by an artist of Morse's stature. Thanks for your assistance on this one - looks as though we won enough of the arguement. :: Kevinalewis : please contact me on my Talk Page : 09:10, 11 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

I see that you are from Hawaii and was wondering if you have any Impact pictures from the 2006 Hawaii earthquake, thanks. Hello32020 20:32, 15 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Sorry, no. But I have been told that if you do a tagline search at FlickR for "earthquake" you'll find a bunch. Good luck. Mitchell k dwyer 10:49, 30 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Dr. Timothy Lin

edit

Dear Mr. Dwyer:

Do you work for Wikipedia directly? Some of us are incensed that you have removed the essence of Dr. Lin's religious experience, and we will not put up with it. Your other changes are mostly acceptable, but we do not intend to allow you to remove the essence of Dr. Lin's religious experience. Surely such experiences appear in encylopedic form, regarding figures like John Wesley, Jonathan Edwards and others. Dr. Lin was a major religious figure in the Chinese church, and his basic religious experiences ought to be as printable as John Wesley's words, "I felt my heart strangely warmed," his most famous statement concerning his personal conversion. It is not unencyclopedic to describe a religious man's personal experience with God, unless the encyclopedias are becoming completely atheistic! Are we now to take the same course as a Chinese Marxist encyclopedia? That was what some of our Chinese friends are saying. Please contact our attorney, Mr. Osher, at josher@bollaw.com.

I think I owe you and the other editors that worked on this article an apology. Somehow I thought this was a new article that was just created and therefore marked it for Speedy. I am not sure how I did this, this is more than a little embarrassing. Sorry to have created the extra work to fix my mistake. ttonyb (talk) 03:08, 19 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

No problem; it's not like it was A LOT of extra work.  :) Assuming good faith, I did consider dropping you a friendly note, but I figured we could work it out on the article's talk page if my position seemed in error. Have a good day! Mitchell k dwyer (talk) 03:13, 19 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

Hawaii edit-a-thon!

edit

Hello. I'm interested in attempting to put together an edit-a-thon for Hawaiian cultural topics something during the Makahiki festival perhaps around the month of November. The hope is that our lackluster coverage of Hawaiian mythology could be improved with help from the Bishop Museum, Hawaii Pacific University, and the Honolulu public library. I am in the process of making initial contacts with these organizations as well as Wikimedia DC's GLAM project. If this sounds like something you might be interested in participating in, or perhaps helping to coordinate, could you please add your name to 2014 Makahiki Edit-a-thon?--v/r - TP 21:22, 9 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

Looking for editors to help with an Asian Pacific American edit-a-thon in Honolulu

edit

On Oahu? Edit Wikipedia or Wikimedia sister projects? You are invited to help the Smithsonian Asian Pacific American Center with an Asian Pacific American edit-a-thon in Honolulu this September.

Aloha!

Last summer I moved to the Seattle area after 14 years in Kailua on Oahu. I immediately fell in with the Cascadia Wikimedians User Group as it formed, joined its board and became its first president as well as the GLAM representative for Washington State.

Recently, Adriel Luis, Curator (Digital & Emerging Media) at the Smithsonian Asian Pacific American Center, contacted me about setting up an edit-a-thon like the previous Wikipedia APA edit-a-thon. In addition to discussing one for Seattle, he wrote:

As I was working two jobs while I lived on Oahu, I did not have the opportunity to meet your or any other Wikipedians at the time. Hence, the reason why I am contacting you now.

If you would like to help, please contact me through one of these methods:

Mahalo,
