RE: University of Dhaka
editFrankly, I agree with you that your edit to the University of Dhaka page apparently sourced material which may belong in the encyclopaedia. However, I would discuss it with User:Drmies since that editor originally removed the material. Let me know if you have any questions! :) - zfJames Please ping me in your reply on this page (chat page , contribs) 20:47, 8 May 2018 (UTC)
Editing with a conflict of interest
editHello, Mizan Al Mim. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:
- avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, company, organization or competitors;
- propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (see the {{request edit}} template);
- disclose your COI when discussing affected articles (see WP:DISCLOSE);
- avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
- do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).
Also please note that editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you.--Jezebel's Ponyobons mots 20:49, 8 May 2018 (UTC)
Important information regarding copyright
editOne of your recent additions has been removed, as it appears to have added copyrighted material to Wikipedia without evidence of permission from the copyright holder. If you are the copyright holder, please read Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials for more information on uploading your material to Wikipedia. For legal reasons, Wikipedia cannot accept copyrighted material, including text or images from print publications or from other websites, without an appropriate and verifiable license. All such contributions will be deleted. You may use external websites or publications as a source of information, but not as a source of content, such as sentences or images—you must write using your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. See Wikipedia:Copying text from other sources for more information. --Jezebel's Ponyobons mots 20:49, 8 May 2018 (UTC)
Many of the sentences and paragraphs you continue to restore to University of Dhaka are taken verbatim from other websites. This is in direct violation of Wikipedia's copyright policy and cannot continue. You clearly have a conflict of interest with regard to the topic and should not be editing the article directly. Your inability to see how your edits are promotional is exactly why we have policies and guidelines with regard to such conflicts. Please take the time to review the information provided to you here; if you continue to restore the disputed material you will likely be blocked from editing.--Jezebel's Ponyobons mots 21:16, 8 May 2018 (UTC)

. Jezebel's Ponyobons mots 21:27, 8 May 2018 (UTC)- In addition to the copyright violations, you also continue to restore blatant promotional material to an article where you have an outright conflict of interest, edit-warring incessantly to do so. When the block expires, please use the talk page to discuss changes you would like to make and only add material if there is consensus to do so. --Jezebel's Ponyobons mots 21:27, 8 May 2018 (UTC)
- Thank you Ponyo--I wasn't looking for copyvio, my interest was in the promotional edits and I am glad you confirm that to this editor, who seems to think that this article is "a University's page". For starters, Mizan Al Mim, you need to cite secondary sources if only to indicate that this information has any encyclopedic value, and what YOU need to read are the guidelines I linked above. Plus, whether you're a paid editor or not, you seem to have a significant conflict of interest here. Drmies (talk) 14:43, 9 May 2018 (UTC)
