==Taxicabs articles==

Thank you for your interest in the NYC transportation and Taxicabs articles. However, please take some time to read Wikipedia:Consensus. Since you wish to change the status quo the way that we do things is to talk first and implement second and then only once concensus is reached. No matter how strongly you believe that your changes have improved the Project they are but your view. On the talk pages both our arguments are there - please wait and see what other views emerge. If you try to force through the changes that you seek without concensus that is known as 'edit warring' and you will rapidly lose the sympathy of the Community. OTOH if you take things more slowly, and seek concensus, you will find that editors are only too pleased to help.

To show willing, and in an effort to compromise, I have replaced the NYC section with the text from your separate page with the exception of 'Semi-formal' which is more suited to the transportation article. TerriersFan 18:48, 21 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

"FAC page"

edit

I was referring to Wikipedia:Featured article candidates/New York City, where someone remarked:

The lead (introduction) section isn't quite satisfactory in my opinion

and

Main issue is the lead. It does not seem to adequately summarize the article.

After I made my extensive addition to the lead, it got these responses:

Looking MUCH better.

and

The lead now looks adequate, and the article as a whole looks great.

It would not be beyond me to suggest that it won featured status in part because of the lead, and now you have pruned it immediately after it got upgraded. At the very least, you need to discuss this on the talk page before you prune it to where it was when people were complaining about it and voting against featuring it because of it. --Golbez 01:12, 15 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

New York City Transportation

edit

Hello, I am now concerned with what appears to be an article which you have put much input into. I am going to be honest with you, in that both the structure, format, as well as the citations you used will need some work. However, that is why I am now talking to you about this. If it is agreeable to you, I am going to do some major reorganization in your article - some sections will be moved around, more information will be added, and most directly, I will do quite a bit of proofreading of the grammer. Please see my Userpage and especially talk page so we can communicate. The article is indeed a very good article, however, and it appears the work of many hours; the sheer number of citations impress me as well. Peter 20:50, 5 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom elections are now open!

edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
