Speedy deletion nomination of National Biosaftey Association

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on National Biosaftey Association, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. Hell In A Bucket (talk) 13:11, 24 January 2014 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Autism Community Network

edit

The article Autism Community Network has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Special-interest organization of local or perhaps regional interest. The name is also used by other, unrelated local organizations in and out of the United States.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 22:03, 24 January 2014 (UTC)Reply

Changing articles into redirects and how to avoid PRODs

edit

I changed some articles you wrote into redirects because Wikipedia already had an article that covered the same topic. The affected articles are:

Also, Made for Each Other (Telugu film) was turned into a redirect to J. Prabhakar Reddy by a different editor earlier this week.

You may want to read up on Wikipedia:Notability and Wikipedia:Search to avoid spending time on articles that duplicate existing material or which may not be on topics that are notable enough to have an article in the first place. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 23:00, 24 January 2014 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of International Frequency Sensor Association

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on International Frequency Sensor Association requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article or image appears to be a clear copyright infringement. This article or image appears to be a direct copy from http://www.sensorsportal.com/HTML/About_Us.htm. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website or image but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

Copyvio

edit

Hey, thought I'd come and explain some about copyright violations. The long and short of WP:COPYVIO is that you cannot cut and paste content into articles. Even if the company/writer in question were to give up all rights to the content as fair use, odds are high in just about any given circumstance that the prose would be too promotional to use as is. That's sort of the catch of the whole fair use rationale with text. Now when it comes to paraphrasing, that can be difficult as if you pull too closely from the source material you will still come across as a copyvio. The entire thing has to be re-written from scratch. This can be difficult if you're a newer user and can still be difficult even for editors who have been around a while. That's why it's usually a good idea to ask for help from the various WikiProjects when it comes to writing articles.

Another big problem with many of your articles is the lack of coverage in reliable sources to show notability. Please be aware that existing is not notability (WP:ITEXISTS) and that notability has to be asserted through WP:RS, reliable sources in places such as newspapers and the like. An example would be something such as this article in TIME about Apple or this article about a gaming company. It doesn't have to be a big fancy major newspaper or outlet, but it does have to be independent of the company and be in a place Wikipedia would consider reliable. I always recommend using the Wikipedia:Reliable sources/Noticeboard if you're unsure as to what could be used as a reliable source. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 12:04, 28 January 2014 (UTC)Reply

I noticed on several journal pages you are adding orphan tags. Please can you check first whether the articles are actually orphans. You can do this by clicking on the what links here link at the left side of each article. For example, the article Journal of Computational Biology has several articles that link to it. Hi, I see you have been removing redlinks from several articles, with edit summaries like "cleanup". These links do not need cleanup. An editor-in-chief of a major academic journal meets WP:ACADEMIC and sooner or later we'll need to create an article on them. Please leave those redlinks in place (see also WP:REDLINK for why redlinks are necessary). Thanks. --Randykitty (talk) 12:23, 8 February 2014 (UTC)Reply
