Nehantic and other East trails
editI'm a volunteer for the CFPA and recently noticed the many pages you've created and contributed to on the CT blue-blazed hiking trails. Thanks! I'm the trail manager for part of the Nehantic Trail in Voluntown (from Green Falls Pond to Mt Misery). I'd like to create a page for the Nehantic Trail and would be interested in creating others for the trails in that area. Let me know if this sounds OK and I'd be interested in your input on how best to collaborate. Feel free to send me an email message if that's easiest. Thanks! DeanDP (talk) 23:52, 26 December 2010 (UTC)
Dean, regarding "Nehantic and other East trails" -- that would be great.
Let me know if you need a template for a CFPA Blue-Blazed Trail Wikipedia page and I can provide one.
If you can access the following test page of mine I believe it could serve as a good skeleton and starting point for one -- otherwise you can take any of the current pages, strip them down and edit them to create new pages.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Morrowlong/TestTrail
Let me know how it goes and if you need any help, advice, inspiration or encouragement.
I still have the very eastern CT CFPA trails to do myself -- I've jjust finished all of the trails in the CT Walk Book West and I've done the westernmost trails in the East book (MMM, Salmon River, Shenipsit). I've even done Bigelow Hollow (stopping off from I84 on trips to/from Boston) but it is quite a drive for me from Hamden to the trails past Foxwoods & Mohegan Sun.
Also, let me know if you ever want to go hiking on one of the trails you maintain.

Let's work together on some Hiking trails
editI got a stash of books covering hiking in Connecticut and I'm ready to put up a lot of information on Wikipedia about Connecticut's diverse and vast hiking trails. I'm going to begin with the creation of Hiking in Connecticut and use it as a springboard into the Blue-Blazed Trails and other nature walks. The article could possibly hit GA rather quickly if we work together on it. ChrisGualtieri (talk) 15:47, 4 October 2013 (UTC)
Chris -- That sounds great. Let me know what help or advice you might want. I have a large stock of photos on Flickr I can contribute [1] as well as some I haven't put up yet -- and I can take more photos for illustration if you want. Morrowlong (talk)
- I've actually begun by putting all the trails into the Wikipedia:WikiProject Hiking trails scope so that they can see and improve the articles and work together if necessary. I think I need to make a run on the 300,000 articles in the USA scope and do a bunch of fixing there before I get too deep into Hiking. Among my stash is 8 books solely on Connecticut trails and I have dozens more in the archives. I just got bored and wanted to do something new for a bit and I couldn't pass up esoteric subjects when a complete collection of sources for GA/FA sat in front of me. Heehee. Fellow Nutmegger
editHello fellow Nutmegger,
I saw that you are interested in CT hiking trails. I was wondering if there is anything I can do to help you out. I noticed this Pachaug Trail Draft that you haven't touched in years. Would be great to help create CT articles.
Also, can I move your userspace draft to actual draft space? AmericanAir88(talk) 23:33, 23 October 2019 (UTC)
Hello also Nutmegger --
Yes, please feel free to move any draft (such as the Pachaug Trail Draft that I haven't gone back to into actual draft space. Or any other unfinished items I might have started.
Mostly I've been adding photographs to various CT state parks and forests, but I may go back and fill in on some trails that need photographs!

editGreat Mountain Forest moved to draftspace
editAn article you recently created, Great Mountain Forest, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. The article Peoples State Forest Trails has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
no references
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
