AfC notification: Draft:P. V. Krotkov has a new comment
editPaul (Pavel) Vasilyevich Krotkov
editHi Mosesos. I thought I'd move our chat from the Teahouse to your talk page. I'd like to help further, if I can. As I said over there, I think the Canadian obituary you linked to, and the short Russian biography hint at an interesting tale worth exploring. Obviously, you might not be motivated enough to be bothered - it's totally up to you
I have checked Russian Wikipedia, and there's currently no entry about him. They also have a Plants project (see ru:Проект:Ботаника) and either you or I could post a request for information on their Talk Page. It's the kind of thing that might conceivably get someone interested enough to investigate the Russian angle more effectively than we can.
Confirming the family information in the russian grave page, I have found this mention of his daughter Christina and brother, Gleb. It's the mention of the word "distinguished" which suggests something more that might support notability.
You could carry on editing the draft, but if you think it might carry on for many months, copying the text over to your own sandbox page would allow you (and possibly me) to edit it over a longer period. I say this because I've had experience of receiving a notification after a draft has remained unchanged for 6 months, and two or three days later it was deleted. Let me know what you think. If you'd like me to make a few layout changes to the draft for you to fill in as you research him, I'd be happy to help on this one. Regards from the UK, Nick Moyes (talk) 12:51, 17 November 2017 (UTC)
- PS: It looks like his son, Gleb, is also a possible noteworthy person. See https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC1086872/pdf/plntphys00482-0184.pdf this obituary] I stumbled across. Regards, Nick.
Speedy deletion nomination of User:Mosesos/sandbox/Inglis Falls Arboretum
editIf this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on User:Mosesos/sandbox/Inglis Falls Arboretum requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from http://www1.greysauble.on.ca/portfolio/administration-centre-arboretum/#. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 17:35, 10 January 2018 (UTC)
