County Seals

edit

I removed a number of the seals you added to Wisconsin county articles because they appear to be self-made derivatives of the state seal and not necessarily official seals of the counties. Please provide specific evidence in the image description of the original source of these seals. If you are the original author, then they can not be used in the articles as this would mislead people into thinking they are official seals sanctioned by the counties. --Dual Freq (talk) 03:17, 29 December 2014 (UTC)Reply

Certainly, the seal added to the Cape May County, New Jersey article is not correct. The county has its own seal, which is not just the state seal with the words "Cape May County" added to it! Here's the link to the real seal. MeegsC (talk) 16:39, 29 December 2014 (UTC)Reply
Get a grip: in no way, shape or form have I "threatened" you! I merely said you had Cape May county's seal wrong, and pointed you toward the correct one. That's the ONLY county I made any reference to. If you're going to make things up wholesale (supposed threats as well as county seals, apparently) you have to expect to be challenged on it. And if you had bothered to read the whole message thread, you might have noticed that I wasn't the only one who found errors. And that's the last you'll hear from me on it. The seal used at http://www.co.eau-claire.wi.us/home/showdocument?id=4024 does not match the seal you uploaded to commons File:Seal of Eau Claire County Wisconsin.svg. Several others have the same problem. You need to properly license the files and provide proper citations and sources from a book or reliable website that show which if any of these seals are actual seals used by the counties in question. Please do not readd the seals unless you can provide citations. --Dual Freq (talk) 17:26, 3 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom elections are now open!

edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
