File permission problem with File:SL40 Lightwriter.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading File:SL40 Lightwriter.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. dave pape (talk) 17:31, 31 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

Hi there,

I noticed that you do the some editing on articles related to AAC - there's a fair amount happening on wikipedia in that direction at the moment - the Augmentative_and_alternative_communication article is being tuned up for a Featured article nomination and the Speech_generating_device article is listed for a GA review. Plus there are lots of articles that need improvement. If you fancied getting involved that would be really cool - up for it? Failedwizard (talk) 09:57, 4 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

Sorry for not replying more quickly to your enquiry on my Talk page! Though William Churchill was a Consul-General there is no evidence provided to show he did anything of note. Simply being appointed as a Concul-general isn't in itself sufficient to warrant a Wikipedia article. The alternative notability guideline for diplomats asks for evidence they have have "participated in a significant way in events of particular diplomatic importance that have been written about in reliable secondary sources. Sufficient reliable documentation of their particular role is required."
As you say, his brothers Harry and Sidney had similar careers and probably the same problem applies to their articles too. However, it looks like they both received honours of one kind or another. Maybe that means they were more distinguished? Sionk (talk) 14:27, 10 March 2013 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Violet Myers

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Violet Myers requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. The Penultimate Curiosity

edit

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of The Penultimate Curiosity, and it appears to include material copied directly from http://www.rogerwagner.co.uk/work/item/202/the-penultimate-curiosity.

It is possible that the bot was mistaken and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.

If substantial content is duplicated and it is not public domain or available under a compatible license, it will be deleted. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material. You may use such publications as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details. (If you own the copyright to the previously published content and wish to donate it, see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials for the procedure.) Speedy deletion nomination of The Penultimate Curiosity

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on The Penultimate Curiosity requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article or image appears to be a clear copyright infringement. This article or image appears to be a direct copy from http://www.rogerwagner.co.uk/work/item/202/the-penultimate-curiosity. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website or image but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

Non-free rationale for File:The Penultimate Curiosity front cover 2.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:The Penultimate Curiosity front cover 2.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Safiel (talk) 16:44, 24 December 2015 (UTC)Reply

File source problem with File:The Penultimate Curiosity front cover 2.jpg

edit

Thank you for uploading File:The Penultimate Curiosity front cover 2.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. Please add this information by editing the image description page.

If the necessary information is not added within the next days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please refer to the image use policy to learn what images you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. Please also check any other files you have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Conflicts of interest?

edit

Given this statement by you on The Penultimate Curiosity's talk page:

Roger Wagner approved the wording in the Wikipedia page

Could you please tell us about your relationship with Roger Wagner. And any other conflicts of interest you may have? Thank you. Harry Let us have speaks 15:32, 24 December 2015 (UTC)Reply

I have created the article on behalf of Andrew Briggs and Roger Wagner, who supplied the wording. MrArmstrong2 (talk) 16:20, 24 December 2015 (UTC)Reply
Oh dear. So it's promotional as well. Have any other articles that you have created been on behalf of their subjects? That is not allowed under Wikipedia's rules. Harry Let us have speaks 16:23, 24 December 2015 (UTC)Reply
Please answer the question I asked several days ago. You have admitted creating one article at the direction of its subject. You continue to create articles. What, if any, connection do you have with the subjects of the other articles you are creating? Harry Let us have speaks 18:38, 28 December 2015 (UTC)Reply

Sorry for delay in replying - Xmas break plus ongoing internet problems. I have today created a page on 'Harold Baker (photograher)'. I have no connection with him, but have a photo by him and found he was not included in Wikipedia despite his father and brother being included, and felt he was worthy of inclusion. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited André Marsac, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page André Girard (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Ways to improve Francis Basin

edit

Hi, I'm Onel5969. MrArmstrong2, thanks for creating Francis Basin!

I've just tagged the page, using our page curation tools, as having some issues to fix. Hi. Nice job on the corrections. Could still use some more footnotes, eg his Lt promotion, the paragraph on his seven cells, and the final paragraph in the France section.

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, you can leave a comment on my talk page. Or, for more editing help, talk to the volunteers at the Teahouse.

Your draft article, Draft:Prominenten

edit

Hello, MrArmstrong2. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Prominenten".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}}, {{db-draft}}, or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. Liz Read! Talk! 03:08, 12 March 2019 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Freda Rawlins

edit

Hello MrArmstrong2,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Freda Rawlins for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly indicate why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!
