The article Mark Rankin recording engineer has been proposed for deletion because, under Wikipedia policy, all newly created biographies of living persons must have at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.
If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Monty845 00:50, 4 December 2011 (UTC)
Please do not write an article about yourself. Creating an autobiography is strongly discouraged – see our guideline on writing autobiographies. If you create such an article, it may be deleted. If what you have done in life is genuinely notable and can be verified according to our policy for articles about living people, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later (see Wikipedians with articles). Please understand that this is an encyclopedia and not a personal web space or social networking site. If your article has already been deleted, please see: Why was my page deleted?, and if you feel the deletion was an error, please discuss it with the deleting administrator. Thank you. Deletion
editHi, thanks for message. The article had been tagged by other editors as an unsourced biography of a living person, an autobiography, self-published, and in need of third-party sources. I deleted your article because
- it did not provide independent verifiable sources to enable us to verify the facts and show that it meets the notability guidelines. It is now Wikipedia policy that biographical articles about living people must have independent verifiable references, or they will be deleted. Although you gave some references, most either did not confirm your text or were links to sales or self-editable sites. Follow the link to establish what are suitable references.
- It was written in a promotional tone. Articles must be neutral and encyclopaedic. Examples of unsourced claims presented as fact include: high end... learning his craft in such an unforgiving environment... accomplished recording engineer... relatively short space of time... client list is testament to... well versed... highly proficient... cutting edge techniques... much anticipated sixth studio album...
- You have an obvious conflict of interest when it comes to editing articles about yourself. If, after reading the information about notability linked above, you still believe that you are notable enough for a Wikipedia article (and that there is significant coverage in reliable, independent secondary sources), you could, if you wish, post a request at Wikipedia:Requested articles for the article to be created. See also Wikipedia:Best practices for editors with conflicts of interest.
I'll shortly post the deleted text here for you to work on. If you recreate, note that the article title should be Mark Rankin (recording engineer) with parentheses, and the link to his site should be in an "External links" section. Jimfbleak - talk to me? 11:12, 24 May 2013 (UTC)
