Catapult C
editI can understand why you are confused. Have a look at WP:Product. When an article appears to have been written for the purpose of promoting a non-notable product or company, I would normally delete it as "advertising". Others might choose to delete it as simply not meeting the guidelines for inclusion. If the product is really notable, the references would need to be improved to demonstrate this. I could restore the article if you felt you were able to do that. Deb (talk) 10:23, 21 February 2009 (UTC)
- Sorry, I seem to have missed your latest question as other people were bombarding me with information at the time. Have you looked at Wikipedia:Sources for the answers to your queries? Deb (talk) 12:20, 25 February 2009 (UTC)
- I'm not an expert on this area, and I'm not really sure that I understand your question. Maybe you could ask it at Wikipedia:Village pump - someone is bound to know. Deb (talk) 12:29, 2 March 2009 (UTC)
- No problem. Deb (talk) 12:42, 6 March 2009 (UTC)

IC Manage
editI did indeed notice IC Manage following your addition of it to the VCS page. After checking your conversation with Deb my issues with the IC Manage article were broadly those she voiced: the chunk of text I removed read, I believe, more like a brochure and less like an explanation of what IC Manage is or does. And relative to the links, they were in a Reference category though none of them were actually linked from the article (so I don't believe they were references -- yet maybe), and after reading the pages linked (as a non-member of the field) the articles tended to read like press releases and not make understanding what IC Manage is, what purpose it serves or how it stacks up to the concurrence easier.
The Catapult C article you edited looks very nice and if that's what you make of the IC page then I'm sure I'll enjoy reading the final product. I thank you for explaining the relation between Perforce and GDP, and I strongly believe it should figure in the product's page, with precisions regarding the arrangement if any (do you have to pay for Perforce separately for instance, or is the cost of Perforce included in GDP?)
Finally, though GDP is -- as far as I understand -- IC Manage's sole product, it might be interesting to split the product from the company. Masklinn (talk) 19:42, 28 August 2009 (UTC)
- Your new cleaned up version of the IC Manage site looks very nice (and, as far as I can read, doesn't feel NNPOV. To me anyway). Thanks a lot, it's really cool. Masklinn (talk) 10:59, 30 October 2009 (UTC)

- To participate in the deletion discussion of this article, all you need to do is add your comments to the discussion at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/IC Manage. You do not need to notify me separately; I will be monitoring that discussion as well. I am not the same person as Explicit. FWIW, I found that article in a routine sweep for phrases I associate with IT spam -- in that article's case, "management solution". If you have sources that indicate that IC Manage has done something to rate a mention in the history books or become well known outside its industry or field, I'd be happy to reconsider myself. - Smerdis of Tlön - killing the human spirit since 2003! 11:36, 10 August 2010 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for November 18
editHi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Eagle Eye Networks, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Index. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Speedy deletion nomination of Swift Sensors
editIf this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Swift Sensors, requesting that it be deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which pages can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly-defined criteria, then it may soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:
- It seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. (See section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.
- It appears to be a clear copyright infringement of https://themanufacturingconnection.com/2016/12/swift-sensors-launches-cloud-wireless-sensor-system/. (See section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. However, even if you use one of these processes to release copyrighted material to Wikipedia, it still needs to comply with the other policies and guidelines to be eligible for inclusion. If you would like any assistance with this, you can ask a question at the help desk.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Praxidicae (talk) 13:02, 9 November 2018 (UTC)
- @Praxidicae: I can't see much justification for the copyright concerns. Only a few minor phrases seem to be duplicated and these are mundane things, not promotional content. Deb (talk) 19:27, 9 November 2018 (UTC)
Mukis, I have moved the article to draft space where you can work on it and then submit it for review by more experienced users. This should help ensure a balanced article emerges. Deb (talk) 19:31, 9 November 2018 (UTC)

editSpeedy deletion nomination of Venktesh Shukla
editHello, Mukis
I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Venktesh Shukla for deletion, because it seems to be inappropriate for a variety of reasons. For more details please see the notice on the article.
If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.
You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!

Speedy deletion nomination of Draft:Venktesh Shukla
editIf this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Draft:Venktesh Shukla, requesting that it be deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which pages can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly-defined criteria, then it may soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:
- It appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion discussion, at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Venktesh Shukla. (See section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) If a page has substantially identical content to that of a page deleted after debate, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.
- It seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. (See section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.
If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here.
