Hello Muraina Lateef. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.

Paid advocates are strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Muraina Lateef. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Muraina Lateef|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. 331dot (talk) 11:46, 19 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Draft:VINVAE

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Draft:VINVAE, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. hello Wikishovel, this is my first time creating a wikipedia page and I am a music distributor so I am trying to make sure artists I work with have a wikipedia audience as they are very amazing. Thats why I tried creating an article, I wasn't paid for this in any way or kind, its just me trying to add to the Wikipedia library , artists I believe are very amazing. So how can you assist me with this. I will really appreciate as the draft has been deleted which is quite understandable. Muraina Lateef (talk) 09:15, 11 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing because your account is being used only for advertising or promotion.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please review Wikipedia's guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text to the bottom of your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  Seraphimblade Talk to me 19:27, 9 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
Dear Seraphimblade,
I would like to sincerely apologize for the error I made while editing. My intention was never to use my account for advertising or promotion. I was attempting to create an article for an artist but unknowingly violated Wikipedia’s guidelines.
I understand the importance of following proper procedures, and I would greatly appreciate your guidance on how I can rectify this situation and ensure my contributions are in line with Wikipedia’s policies.
Could you please advise me on the next steps I should take to correct the mistake and potentially have my account unblocked?
Thank you for your understanding. Muraina Lateef (talk) 12:41, 11 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
The error you made was to use a chatbot to generate that above message. While I will discuss an unblock with any blocked editor, I would discuss it with you, not a bot. So, if you'd like to have a conversation, please do so in your own words, and refrain from the use of bots/LLMs. Seraphimblade Talk to me 13:34, 11 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
Additionally, you evaded your block, using the account User:Darshsxx. While this account remains blocked, you, as in the person who operated this account, may not edit Wikipedia under any account or anonymously. Do not create any more accounts. Seraphimblade Talk to me 13:42, 11 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
My sincerest apologies. I really do not understand much about wikipedia and it seems a lot to me, because I work as a music distributor , I always want my artists to be verifiable so after opening their spotify and apple music artist profiles, I tried writing a page about them here on wikipedia,I tried a year ago but i didnt get it right, and thats why I am trying again now but I guess i did that the wrong way, I apologize to the community for this. How can I write about artists i work with in the best way possible. My username is my real name thats to show I actually want to learn and be a verified member of the community. I will really appreciate your guidance and support. Muraina Lateef (talk) 14:06, 11 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
If your goal is to write "profile" type material, you would need to do that elsewhere, such as your own website or social media. Wikipedia articles are not "profiles". Rather, they are encyclopedia articles, written in a strictly neutral way and sticking to facts verified by reliable and independent sources, with absolutely no subjective assessment, "talking up", or puffery. If there is not a substantial amount of reliable and independent source material available about a subject (and for most musicians, there isn't), it isn't appropriate to have an article about them at all. If there is, the article should just stick to the facts those sources verify. Regardless, your affiliation to these individuals is a financial conflict of interest, which, while it doesn't forbid you to edit about those subjects, does require disclosure. And finally, writing an appropriate new article is hard. If you feel you're not very familiar with Wikipedia, you are very unlikely to succeed at that. I always recommend that new editors gain substantial experience editing existing articles (in your case, probably outside of your conflict of interest area) to get an idea of how articles should be written before they try their hand at creating new ones, so I'd certainly give you that same advice. Seraphimblade Talk to me 14:27, 11 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
Yes I have alot of references, newspapers, publications, reliable and independent sources also. And I basically sticked to only the facts published by these articles, and i am ready to give any disclosure required of me. Can I write a sample as a reply and you teach me and guide me on the appropriate corrections. Yes I understand you are extremely busy but this would mean so much to me. Muraina Lateef (talk) 14:38, 11 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
I already advised that you could gain experience by editing existing articles, rather than trying to have me write your COI material for you. That would mean actually taking some time on your part, rather than mine. If you are unwilling to do that, you are probably not a good fit to be writing material here. Seraphimblade Talk to me 14:43, 11 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
Okay, could you suggest a material I can edit to do this ? and once Im done I would be so delighted if you could help me review it Muraina Lateef (talk) 14:49, 11 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
hello, i havent gotten a reply from you Muraina Lateef (talk) 17:36, 11 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
Get pushy, and you won't. Else I will when I have time. Seraphimblade Talk to me 17:55, 11 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
Okay, I will be waiting on your reply then. and my name is in red. why is that ? You have any idea why ? Muraina Lateef (talk) 18:12, 11 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

If you mean your name in red in your signature, you have not created a user page. That is where you would put the paid editing disclosure, and you can put other things there if you want, though you don't have to. As far as the rest, if you were unblocked, it would be with an agreement to not do any editing about your COI subjects at this time, though if you show a pattern of good contributions elsewhere, that could be lifted in the future. In the meantime, is there some other topic(s) you'd be interested in making edits about? Seraphimblade Talk to me 03:54, 12 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

I tried to click on the create user page link in your reply but i saw this on the page, "This account has been blocked from editing Wikipedia.". Yes how can I make the agreement to not do any editing about COI subjects, so my blocked account can be lifted. Yes I would like to make an edit about Rema , he is one of my favorite artists. How can I proceed with this ? and also how can I lift my account ban. Thank you so much, You've been really helpful. Muraina Lateef (talk) 06:27, 12 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
Even more socking? Sorry, given that, I'm no longer willing to consider unblocking you. You can put up a request to see if anyone else will. Seraphimblade Talk to me 17:48, 12 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
This is my only account!! And im trying to edit another article and you are not helping with that either. im a new user trying to find a way to use this platform and you are not helping or trying to guide me; you are just putting blames on me. how can i even delete my account? Maybe when i do that, you will be happy. I need help. This is my only account. How can I be able to edit other articles and start contributing to the community? You didn't answer any of that because you are "busy," but you come to say I am socking. What does that even mean? Muraina Lateef (talk) 18:09, 12 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
We have strong confirmation from other accounts that they too were contacted by VINVAE's manager in an attempt to set up articles about VINVAE. That means we consider all such accounts to be violating WP:SOCK. We've repeatedly asked that the message be passed along to VINVAE's manager to stop this unethical behaviour. I trust you will also communicate that message to them. --Yamla (talk) 18:24, 12 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
SoThis is actually my account; I created it a while back, and like I said, I'm a music distributor, having distributed for over 47 artists. Like a year ago, i tried creating a wikipedia page for the biggest artist on my roster at the time, but it was speedily deleted and I didnt think much of it. Now Vinvae is actually the biggest artist on my roster, hence why I tried creating an artist page for her, and I met the same speedily deleted, so right now, I'm not trying to create a page for any artist anymore; I just want to know how I can edit other articles and be a part of the community, and I still didn't get a reply. That's all I'm asking for: guidance. I've made this mistake twice now, and this might be affecting the artists just because I'm an amateur at this; hence, I want to learn because I've distributed for 45 more artists, and if they start doing well, I would love to be able to create a wiki page. So please guide me. Muraina Lateef (talk) 19:09, 12 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
  • You have said "Like a year ago, i tried creating a wikipedia page", and also "This is my only account", but this account has only existed for four months, so you can't have used it a year ago. Can you clarify that? JBW (talk) 20:07, 12 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
