Orphaned non-free media (File:Vygon Vet Logo.jpg)
editThanks for uploading File:Vygon Vet Logo.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hazard-Bot (talk) 04:36, 12 January 2013 (UTC)
Replaceable fair use File:Vygon-buidling.jpg
editThanks for uploading File:Vygon-buidling.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that this media item is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails the first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media item could be found or created that provides substantially the same information or which could be adequately covered with text alone. If you believe this media item is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the file description page and edit it to add
{{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}
, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template. - On the file discussion page, write the reason why this media item is not replaceable at all.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. VernoWhitney (talk) 15:43, 12 January 2013 (UTC)

Wikipedia:Non-free content policy and guideline
editPlease do not place or replace any non-free images to any pages except for actual articles, as you did at User:Murklemark/sandbox. Such use is a clear violation of point number 9 of our policy concerning the use of non-free images. The images can be restored if/when the article goes live, but not in your sandbox. VernoWhitney (talk) 22:17, 14 January 2013 (UTC)
- Please stop replacing non-free images in your sandbox. Continuing to do so can be viewed as disruptive behaviour and you may be blocked from editing. VernoWhitney (talk) 14:37, 15 January 2013 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Vygon (UK) Ltd
editIf this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Vygon (UK) Ltd, requesting that it be deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which articles can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly-defined criteria, then it may be soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:
- It seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. (See section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.
- It appears to be a clear copyright infringement. (See section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. However, even if you use one of these processes to release copyrighted material to Wikipedia, it still needs to comply with the other policies and guidelines to be eligible for inclusion. If you would like any assistance with this, you can ask a question at the help desk.
If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Shirt58 (talk) 12:15, 17 January 2013 (UTC)
- Hi sorry, i'll rewrite the article today to bring it inline with the WIKI guidelines, I've based it on the style of content of other similar articles so I thought the content would of been OK. Thanks for your help. (Murklemark (talk) 12:31, 17 January 2013 (UTC))
Possible conflict of interest
editHello, Murklemark. We welcome your contributions to Wikipedia, but if you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may need to consider our guidance on conflicts of interest.
All editors are required to comply with Wikipedia's neutral point of view content policy. People who are very close to a subject often have a distorted view of it, which may cause them to inadvertently edit in ways that make the article either too flattering or too disparaging. People with a close connection to a subject are not absolutely prohibited from editing about that subject, but they need to be especially careful about ensuring their edits are verified by reliable sources and writing with as little bias as possible.
If you are very close to a subject, here are some ways you can reduce the risk of problems:
- Avoid or exercise great caution when editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with.
- Be cautious about deletion discussions. Everyone is welcome to provide information about independent sources in deletion discussions, but avoid advocating for deletion of articles about your competitors.
- Avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).
- Exercise great caution so that you do not accidentally breach Wikipedia's content policies.
Please familiarize yourself with relevant content policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.
For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. Thank you. JamesBWatson (talk) 12:34, 17 January 2013 (UTC)
- Thanks for the information, I'd based the article on similar style content used on other pages, but there is a lack of reliable sources for this subject and only mainly primary sources. Are you able to point me in the direction of an editor who could help sandbox this article.

More on your question at teahouse
editHi, Murklemark! I'm Gtwfan52. I wanted to drop you a note regarding your question at Teahouse regarding the article in your sandbox.
The tern "notability" causes a lot of people problems on Wikipedia. I am not at all sure why it is this way, but it is. We have taken a word that has a common usage and given it a specific meaning for Wikipedia. When we say notability, what we mean is the inclusion standard for Wikipedia. It says nothing about the fame or importance of the subject. It is just speaking to whether or not the article meets the inclusion standard. The general standard is WP:GNG. There is a specific standard for companies, WP:CORP. When we say "It isn't notable", what we are really saying is, the article doesn't meet inclusion standards.
Wikipedia only publishes articles about subjects that others have written about. That means that unless there are sources covering your subject in newspapers, magazines, books, newspaper websites, tv or radio websites or other type sources that have some kind of vetting or fact-checking process in place, you do not have enough for an article. Encyclopedias in general are tertiary sources; that is, they only cover things that have been written about elsewhere.
You mentioned at Teahouse that there are several other articles that don't come up to standards. That is undoubtedly true. Wikipedia has been around roughly 11 years and has over 4 million articles. Wikipedians have only gotten serious about quality in the past 5 years. The process in place for checking old articles is to look at them when someone edits them. Also there are a few folks that just look at random articles and work on them. It will be a long while until everything gets caught up. We actually have an essay about just that (WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS), and arguments along the lines of "Article X is just like mine and it is in the encyclopedia" are automatically discounted in formal processes like the Articles for Deletion process.
So, I hope what I have written here is useful for you in clarifying the issues. Very simply, what you need to do is find sources independent of the company and add them to the article in order to show notability. I will say that since the company you are writing about is a subsidiary of another company and the parent company does not have an article in Wikipedia, you are probably looking at an uphill climb to get there. I wish you luck and if I come accross anything you can use, I will surely add it to your article. Thanks for joining the corps of Wikipedians. We welcome you! Gtwfan52 (talk) 21:13, 17 January 2013 (UTC)
- Hi Gtwfan52 , Thanks for your post! It really helps clear things up, it was a bit demoralising to be so quickly deleted when I had been basing the style of information on articles that already exisited, but you have helped clear it up alot. I'll keep battling through and reading more of the Wiki guides to get me up to speed. Thanks again! (Murklemark (talk) 11:12, 18 January 2013 (UTC))
Speedy deletion nomination of User:Murklemark/sandbox
editYou may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles. See the Article Wizard.
Thank you.
A tag has been placed on User:Murklemark/sandbox, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising that only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an acceptable page. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item G11, as well as the guidelines on spam.
If you can indicate why the subject of this page is not blatant advertising, . Clicking that button will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. You are welcome to edit the page to fix this problem, but please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. As well as removing promotional phrasing, it helps to add factual encyclopaedic information to the page, and add citations from independent reliable sources to ensure that the page will be verifiable. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. 79.123.81.63 (talk) 13:12, 19 January 2013 (UTC)
