iPad pricing section

Hey

If you're interested this is being discussed on the iPad talk page as it seems to have been added and removed several times? Thanks. -- Eraserhead1 <talk> 17:20, 20 February 2010 (UTC)

Thank you for the welcome

The elusive WikiGnome.

Thanks for the kind welcome Mushroom. I have some trepidation posting this here - is editing a user page to say 'thanks' acceptable? I have no idea!

Anyway, thanks again. I am an expert only in feral cats, frugal living, and some other non encyclopedic areas. I pretty much confine myself to making edits on punctuation, spelling, and grammar.

Cheers. —Preceding unsigned comment added by TheAsocialApe (talkcontribs) 01:38, 21 February 2010 (UTC)

You're a WikiGnome then! :) You can write what you want on a user talk page, unlike article talk pages which should be limited to discussions about article content. If you have any other doubts or need any help feel free to ask. Cheers. Mushroom (Talk) 01:56, 21 February 2010 (UTC)

RE: User talk:72.86.78.247

Thanks for the welcome to wikipedia. However, I should tell you that that was the anonymous banner that I edited under for the Universal (Borknagar album) page when I got accidentally logged off for some reason that is beyond my comprehension. Stuff like that where I have accidentally logged off without knowingly pressing the log out button has happened at least three other times during my time on wikipedia. I just thought I would tell you that; thanks. Backtable Speak to meconcerning my deeds. 00:40, 26 February 2010 (UTC)

Could you please help me with adding a picture and the image policy stuff

First of all, thanks for your warm welcome. I've now created a wholly new article and have some problems with adding an image there. I've tried to search the answers and guidance on the help page but partly cause I'm a newbie here and my English is so rusty I've not understood everything. So could you help me please? Articles for deletion nomination of Apple.com

I have nominated Apple.com, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Apple.com. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Proposed deletion of Soundholic

The article Soundholic has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non notable record company - fails WP:CORP ONLY claim to any form of notability is one of WP:INHERITANCE through bands.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. Nomination of ITablet for deletion

A discussion has begun about whether the article ITablet, which you created or to which you contributed, should be deleted. While contributions are welcome, an article may be deleted if it is inconsistent with Wikipedia policies and guidelines for inclusion, explained in the deletion policy.

Fair use rationale for File:Meshuggah-Nothing-2.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Meshuggah-Nothing-2.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. — ξxplicit 18:53, 2 November 2010 (UTC)

Dealing with IP Address editors

I am working on the Alternate versions of Spider-Man, trying to take out some false and misleading information that a fandom keeps putting back in. User:67.250.61.174 keeps reverting my edits, leaving no message on the edit log, his discussion page, my discussion page, or the article's talk page. What would be the next appropriate step to take to ensure that my work just doesn't get reverted again? Notthegoatseguy (talk) 01:58, 8 December 2010 (UTC)

Notification: changes to "Mark my edits as minor by default" preference

Hello there. This is an automated message to tell you about the gradual phasing out of the preference entitled "Mark all edits minor by default", which you currently have (or very recently had) enabled.

On 13 March 2011, this preference was hidden from the user preferences screen as part of efforts to prevent its accidental misuse (consensus discussion, guidelines for use at WP:MINOR). This had the effect of locking users in to their existing preference, which, in your case, was true. To complete the process, your preference will automatically be changed to false in the next few days. This does not require any intervention on your part and all users will still be able to manually mark their edits as being minor in the usual way.

For well-established users such as yourself there is a workaround available involving custom JavaScript. If you have any problems, feel free to drop me a note.

Thank you for your understanding and happy editing :) Editing on behalf of User:Jarry1250, LivingBot (talk) 20:16, 15 March 2011 (UTC)

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Extended confirmed protection

Hello, Mushroom. This message is intended to notify administrators of important changes to the protection policy.

Extended confirmed protection (also known as "30/500 protection") is a new level of page protection that only allows edits from accounts at least 30 days old and with 500 edits. The automatically assigned "extended confirmed" user right was created for this purpose. The protection level was created following this community discussion with the primary intention of enforcing various arbitration remedies that prohibited editors under the "30 days/500 edits" threshold to edit certain topic areas.

In July and August 2016, a request for comment established consensus for community use of the new protection level. Administrators are authorized to apply extended confirmed protection to combat any form of disruption (e.g. vandalism, sock puppetry, edit warring, etc.) on any topic, subject to the following conditions:

  • Extended confirmed protection may only be used in cases where semi-protection has proven ineffective. It should not be used as a first resort.
  • A bot will post a notification at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard of each use. MusikBot currently does this by updating a report, which is transcluded onto the noticeboard.

Please review the protection policy carefully before using this new level of protection on pages. Thank you.
This message was sent to the administrators' mass message list. To opt-out of future messages, please remove yourself from the list. 17:48, 23 September 2016 (UTC)

December 2017

Thanks for contributing to the article Shigureden. However, one of Wikipedia's core policies is that contributions must be verifiable, by being clearly attributed to reliable sources, preferably using inline citations. Please help by adding more sources to the article you edited, and/or by clarifying how the sources already given support the claims (see here for how to do inline referencing). Thanks! P.S. If you need any help, you can look at Help:Contents/Editing Wikipedia or ask at Wikipedia:New contributors' help page, or just ask me. Thank you. --Jax 0677 (talk) 15:17, 4 December 2017 (UTC)

Activity level

I have annotated all the major Shakespeare plays in a unique way in that the definitions of difficult words and the explanations of difficult passages appear within the text, in boldfaced type inside brackets. Thus, for the most part, the reader does not need to interrupt his or her perusal of a text by navigating to a footnote, then back to the text. Each text appears on one page. However, to assure fast loading of a page—and to make it appealing to a user—I have omitted ads and images. My site has received favorable reviews from The New York Times, the BBC, the British Library, and teacher sites. Wikipedia, on the other hand, has deleted links that I have posted even though Wikipedia editors accept links to Shakespeare sites that contain ads and cannot match the scholarship on my pages. If you doubt what I say, check out the following links to Shakespeare plays.

http://shakespearestudyguide.com/JuliusCaesarText.html http://shakespearestudyguide.com/CoriolanusText.html http://shakespearestudyguide.com/MuchAdoAbout.html http://www.shakespearestudyguide.com/TwelfthNightGuide.html

May I have permission to post links to my Shakepeare texts without worry that someone will delete them?

Wikipedia is an extraordinary resource for students, teachers, and researchers. I believe my Shakespeare texts can enhance the experience of Wikipedia users researching Shakespeare.

Notification of pending suspension of administrative permissions due to inactivity

Established policy provides for removal of the administrative permissions of users who have not made any edits or logged actions in the preceding twelve months. Because you have been inactive, your administrative permissions will be removed if you do not return to activity within the next month.

Inactive administrators are encouraged to rejoin the project in earnest rather than to make token edits to avoid loss of administrative permissions. Resources and support for reengaging with the project are available at Wikipedia:WikiProject Editor Retention/administrators. If you do not intend to rejoin the project in the foreseeable future, please consider voluntarily resigning your administrative permissions by making a request at the bureaucrats' noticeboard.

Special:WantedTemplates

Hi! Would it be possible for you to add

/* <nowiki> */

to the top and

/* </nowiki> */

to the bottom of User:Mushroom/Advisor.js? By putting these tags inside of javascript comments, it won't impact the functionality of your script, but it will keep the backend software from transcluding Template:' + name + ' . You will know if the tags worked if Special:WhatLinksHere/Template:' + name + ' no longer shows your javascript page. By fixing these, we can keep the number of entries in Special:WantedTemplates to a minimum. Thank you in advance for your help! Plastikspork ―Œ(talk) 23:19, 16 April 2022 (UTC)
