Hello Mysteronald and welcome to Wikipedia! Hope you like it here, and stick around.
Here are some tips to help you get started:
- To sign your posts (on talk pages, for example) use the '~' symbol. To insert just your name, type ~~~ (3 tildes), or, to insert your name and timestamp, use ~~~~ (4 tildes).
- Try the Tutorial, and feel free to experiment in the test area.
- If you need help, post a question at the Help Desk
- Follow the Wikipedia:Simplified Ruleset
- Eventually, you might want to read the Manual of Style and Policies and Guidelines.
- Remember Wikipedia:Neutral point of view
- Explore, be bold in editing pages, and, most importantly, have fun!
Good luck!
John L. Kerry
editHi! I have three requests to make, in keeping with my understanding of Wikipedia:Wikiquette.
First, could you please copy your comments about deleting John L. Kerry to Wikipedia:Votes for deletion/John L. Kerry? I think that the talk pages are for debating modifications to the article and discussions about the possible deletion are supposed to take place on the Votes for deletion page.
Second, could you please sign your posts on talk pages (including the Votes for Deletion page)? Just use four tildes, like this:
˜˜˜˜
Finally, could you please comment your changes?
Thanks! DLJessup 00:07, 20 Jan 2005 (UTC)
- Er... oh my.
- Were there any changes in particular that you thought needed comment?

I just realized that I may not have been clear. My understanding is that you're supposed to fill in the "Edit summary" box for all changes. (Honestly, I'm not perfect about this myself — but I'm trying.) See Wikipedia:Edit summary for more info.
