Good to have you on board

edit

Hi, good of you to acknowledge the welcome, and it's great that you've decided to join the welcoming committee. I'm sure that your sunny disposition (gauged from your user page) will make people feel very welcome.

I hope that the table of links that I left for you will prove as useful to you as I have found it, you may have noticed that I have a modified version of it on my user page. If you wish to leave the same welcoming message when you welcome people then simply type {{subst:user:Kukini/Welcome}} on the talk page. Alternatively, (if you haven't found it already) there is a list of welcoming templates linked to from the welcoming committee page. Once again, welcome on board! The Time-Bombed Skyscraper

edit

I agree, I shouldn't have removed the wikify tag. Thanks for adding it back. NawlinWiki 20:00, 9 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

I've added 1960s achivements for starters. This is far from complete and will go through 1970s 1980s and 1990s. I will also add a filmography table also revelaing actors he has worked with. ALos I hope to find other life details abot his education and background, earlier study and presence behind the camera on set of the major programmes mentioned. I said "starting" meaning I intend to write a fuller article. jeremy Summers is a major tv director definately notable. Do you want me to expand now? Ernst Stavro Blofeld 20:50, 9 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Yes remember me if you have seen all of my tens of tbousands of contributions to wikipedia remember I only start articles I know are worthy and can be expanded. There should be a biography for him somewhere. I was amazed the article wasn't started yet check out his ifilmography!!! Ernst Stavro Blofeld 20:59, 9 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

God board

edit

Not sure it qualifies as patent nonsense, but we'll see if an admin buys it. Could be (a) this was the term used by the author's parents, or (b) there is actually some widespread use within a certain community. Fan-1967 20:52, 9 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Fundamental weighting

edit

Do you think I can remove that wikify tag from Fundamental weighting? I read through the Style Manual and cited the entire article, added about 10-20 links, and bolded "fundamental weighting" in the intro paragraph. Anything else need to be done? VivekVish 00:00, 10 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Your ER

edit

The link to your editor review page is broken on WP:ER. It looks like there's no ER page for you yet. Are you still working on it? Maybe the name of the actual page is misspelled? Peace, delldot | talk 21:03, 10 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Sure, I'm glad to try and help figure out what's wrong. First of all, did you make the editor review subpage? If not, click on the "Request a Review" button at Wikipedia:Editor review#Requesting reviews. Enter your statement where it says STATEMENT, save and then answer the questions. If you have already made it, I suspect the title is misspelled because Wikipedia:Editor review/Mystify85JEC doesn't exist. You can move the page and edit WP:ER to make sure that the template links to the actual page, not the redirect. I had a quick look at your contribs and didn't see that you had made the page yet, so that's probably it. Keep in touch and let me know whether you get things worked out or if you need more help. Peace, delldot | talk 21:15, 10 January 2007 (UTC)Reply
Well, thanks so much for the barnstar, that's very sweet! Don't forget to add your statement to the review page (replace STATEMENT with your personal statement). I will treasure the shiny star on my user page! Peace, delldot | talk 21:40, 10 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for the barnstar!

Semiprotection

edit

Hey Mystify, thanks for the note and the congrats! But I think I'd be too nervous to semiprotect the article for now. I'm still such a n00b admin, it would be my first semiprotection. And as I mentioned in Q4 of my RfA, I plan to be very conservative with the tools. Also, with only a few edits in the past couple days, I'm not sure the article's been hit enough lately to merit protection; as I understand it, usually semiprotection is reserved for when IPs or new users are making so many disruptive edits it's a problem to revert them all. Also, I looked at a couple of the edits, and while they're certainly not appropriate, they're not as simple vandalism as I'd be comfortable with protecting a page against (you know, like "AARON IS GAY!" Now that I'm comfortable with protecting against!). If it has even the slightest hint of content dispute about it, I'd be very nervous about semiprotecting. Have you had dialog with the users? Explained what's wrong with the edits and why they're against policy? If they keep doing it, I'd suggest bringing the issue to WP:RFPP, where the admins are more experienced than me and probably less nervous ninnies. Keep me updated about this situation if anything changes or if I've missed something significant. Sorry not to fulfill your request, I do want to be accessible, so don't hesitate to come to me with stuff in the future. Peace, delldot | talk 01:04, 22 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Wikipedia:Editor review/Mystify85JEC

edit

Hey, I gave you a very belated review! I thought I'd mention it, since it's been so long you might have forgotten about it. If you're happy with the amount of reviewing you got, you may want to archive it after you've read it (or ask me to), since that page is so long and you're unlikely to get any more reviews. Anyway, hope it's helpful! Peace, delldot talk 00:21, 28 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

controversies section/SUNY Old Westbury

edit

your message was Please refrain from re-adding the controversies section on the SUNY Old Westbury web page, as was discussed with administrators and other editors, it was inapporpriate for Wikipeida and childish. Further adding of it could be considered vandalism. Mystify85JEC 23:11, 25 May 2007 (UTC) There is no reason to have removed the confirmed and much publicized marijuana farm that was found on the campus of SUNY Old Westbury. Many other schools have controversy sections such as DUKE University, the virginia tech massacre, or other similiar type events. Removing verified and cited material would be akin to vandalism 68.175.26.54 22:17, 29 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Wikipedia:Wikipedia Loves Art

edit

First off, I apologize for the spam. You are receiving this message because you have indicated that you are in Southern California or interested in Southern California topics (either via category or WikiProject, or I happen to know personally).

I would like to invite you to the Los Angeles edition of Wikipedia:Wikipedia Loves Art, a photography scavenger hunt to be held at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) on Saturday, February 28, 2009, from 1:00 to 7:00 PM. All photos are intended for use in Wikipedia articles or on Wikimedia Commons. There will be a prize available for the person who gets the most photos on the list.

If you don't like art, why not come just to meet your fellow Wikipedians. Apparently, we haven't had a meetup in this area since June 2006!

If you are interested in attending, please add your name to Wikipedia:Wikipedia Loves Art#Los Angeles County Museum of Art. Please make a note if you are traveling to the area (train or plane) and need transportation, which can probably be arranged via carpool, but we need time to coordinate. Lodging is as of right now out of scope, but we could discuss that if enough people are interested.

Thank you and I hope to see you there! howcheng {chat} 00:46, 10 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Survey

edit

Hi Ophelia!

I have put together a survey for female editors of Wikipedia (and related projects) in order to explore, in greater detail, women's experiences and roles within the Wikimedia movement. It'd be wonderful if you could participate!

It's an independent survey, done by me, as a fellow volunteer Wikimedian. It is not being done on behalf of the Wikimedia Foundation. I hope you'll participate!

Just click this link to participate in this survey, via Google!

Any questions or concerns, feel free to email me or stop by my user talk page. Also, feel free to share this any other female Wikimedians you may know. It is in English, but any language Wikimedia participants are encouraged to participate. I appreciate your contributions - to the survey and to Wikipedia! Thank you! Greetings Recent Changes Patrollers!

This is a one-time-only message to inform you about technical proposals related to Recent Changes Patrol in the 2016 Community Wishlist Survey that I think you may be interested in reviewing and perhaps even voting for:

  1. Adjust number of entries and days at Last unpatrolled
  2. Editor-focused central editing dashboard
  3. "Hide trusted users" checkbox option on watchlists and related/recent changes (RC) pages
  4. Real-Time Recent Changes App for Android
  5. Shortcut for patrollers to last changes list

Further, there are more than 20 proposals related to Watchlists in general that you may be interested in reviewing. (and over 260 proposals in all, across many aspects of wikis)

Thank you for your consideration. Please note that voting for proposals continues through December 12, 2016.

Note: You received this message because you have transcluded {{User wikipedia/RC Patrol}} (user box) on your user page. Since this message is "one-time-only" there is no opt out for future mailings.
