Much, much better - it actually reads like a good encyclopedia article now. And it's under proper English transliteration, too. Thanks very much! --User:AlbertHerring Io son l'orecchio e tu la bocca: parla! 05:22, 17 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

That's looking pretty good to me - what might be cool is if you could just hunt arounds the internet a little to see if there are sufficient references to them that we can remove the "importance" tag. Artw 16:30, 19 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

George McCarthy article

edit

Hello, Jachin -- back in May (ages ago, I know!) you tagged the George McCarthy article as needing wikification and clarification. I've done both those tasks to the best of my abilities. If you'd like to take a look and give me feedback, I'd more than appreciate it. Thanks, Emmegan 23:43, 18 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Hello Emmegan, on review of your article revision you seem to have done a splendid job bringing it into shape. Whilst I'll admit I don't see this person as purposefully encyclopedic nor a POI as such, content control and quality is always an admirable thing in all articles. I don't recall flagging the article, back in that period of time I would spend all my free time working through articles until semester break ended. Oh, how I miss the Wiki freedoms! Interesting linkage to Ernst & Young, aren't they one of the primary firms with assets stashed at the Cayman's as far as offshore banking goes? Or is that another company? Thanks for the follow up by the way!  :) Jachin 10:54, 20 October 2006 (UTC) (Note: This has been syndicated to your talk page also.)Reply
Ack! On reading your user-info page, I just need to add an ammendment to my above post: You RULE! :D (Especially for the Monty Python reference.  ;))

WikProject Ballet

edit

Hello, Emmegan! I noticed that you are a member of WikiProject Dance. Keitei, a fellow member, and I have begun a WikiProject for Ballet in my userspace. We hope to recruit enough members to make this a feasible WikiProject, and would appreciate your support! You can join at the WikiProject page or leave your suggestions on the talk page.
Thanks! — Editor at Large(speak) 22:53, 13 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Hey, Thanks for your quick reply! I wrote you back this morning, but apparently my message didn't get saved...
Regarding what you can do, I suggest looking at the to-do list on the project page. Right now I'd say go for the Vaganova method or the Russian ballet articles... the Vaganova method article needs the most work, but the Russian ballet one needs a complete re-write. You could also begin adding {{WikiProject Ballet}} tags to the top of talk pages of important ballet articles. There's so much to do, you have a lot to choose from!
Thanks again for joining, and if you have any questions or comments don't hesitate to drop Keitei or I a line! — Editor at Large(speak) 03:47, 15 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Thanks so much for your work on Vaganova method! It's looking much better. Editor at Large and I were wondering if you had any experience with modern ballet. I've personally never had any formal experience with it and thus was only able to create a minimal stub... You mentioned having experience with modern dance on the wikiproject ballet page, so we were wondering if that extended to modern ballet. :] Thanks again for all your work. Cheers! --Keitei (talk) 13:36, 22 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned fair use image (Image:Drew Jacoby from LINES Ballet.jpg)

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Drew Jacoby from LINES Ballet.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that the image is unlicensed for use on Wikipedia and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. So sorry!

edit

It's been a month and a half since you posted on my talk page and I still haven't responded! Sorry about that. In response to your question, I think the Ballet article could use any work you could give it. I'm currently in the process of adding citations for each assertion in the article, but I find ballet history to be a smidgeon boring and the section on it rather incomplete... Any help you're willing to give would be wonderful. I also want to thank you again for the work you've done on ballet-related articles; they needed it! :] I hope everything is well (as you haven't edited in a while) and hope to hear back from you soon! Cheers, --Keitei (talk) 19:45, 3 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:Drew Jacoby of LINES.jpeg

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Drew Jacoby of LINES.jpeg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. (ESkog)(Talk) 04:21, 14 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Twyla Tharp poster.jpg. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

Not opposed to having the article re-created once reviews and 3rd party references are in place, but currently it's just speculation. Hasteur (talk) 18:44, 29 September 2010 (UTC)Reply
