Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice to inform you that a tag has been placed on All engineers (and others) eligibly credited on a GRAMMY-winning recording will be acknowledged with GRAMMY certificates. requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, a "See also" section, book references, category tags, template tags, interwiki links, images, a rephrasing of the title, a question that should have been asked at the help or reference desks, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Managing a conflict of interest
editHello, Naebwe. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:
- avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization or competitors;
- propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
- disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI);
- avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam#External link spamming);
- do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.
Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. McMatter (talk)/(contrib) 15:05, 16 May 2022 (UTC)
- @Mcmatter Hello! I was stating facts. I'm sorry if it reads that way. How can I make it better for you? What additional information are you requiring besides citing source? Thank you! @Naebwe Naebwe (talk) 15:15, 16 May 2022 (UTC)
- The only edit I reverted of yours is the removal of maintenance templates without even attempting to properly justify the reason for their removal or attempting to fix the concerns raised. I however did look at your edit history and noticed you have only ever edited this one article which is normally very indicative of an editor with a Conflict of Interest. Please take a moment and read the message above and the links within to understand our policies and guidelines on this style of editing. McMatter (talk)/(contrib) 15:21, 16 May 2022 (UTC)
- @Mcmatter I'm very interested in the field of mastering and you're right I have been focused on this engineer because his body of work is impressive to me. I was just wanted to work with you on giving you what you need to remove the tag. The tag said, short description, so I added short description of what a mastering engineer did and you removed it. So, I'm not understanding what you are requiring to remove that tag?? Please advise! Thank you! Naebwe (talk) 15:37, 16 May 2022 (UTC)
- The tag say nothing about the short description the tags refer to the tone of the article and the long list of awards which don't actually belong to the subject, that requires to be trimmed. The Short description template that you can only see in the edit window is for accessibility reasons so that someone with a certain type of viewer can get a short description on the subject. You were also removing that in your unexplained removal of the other templates. McMatter (talk)/(contrib) 15:41, 16 May 2022 (UTC)
- @Mcmatter I see, I though the "short description" written in the template was asking for a short description of what an audio engineer did, as in a position.
- Also, you stated that "the long list of awards which don't actually belong to the subject".
- You are incorrect. The awards do belong to the subject.
- What additional information do you need besides siting source? So, that I can better assist you?
- Thanks! @Naebwe Naebwe (talk) 16:05, 16 May 2022 (UTC)
- If the award isn't specifically for the work he has done then it does not belong to him for our purposes. So unless he was specifically named as a nominee and recipient then he is not considered one. McMatter (talk)/(contrib) 16:40, 16 May 2022 (UTC)
- @Mcmatter Im so sorry but you are incorrect. You wrote that he was not a part of the band. That part is correct.
- You are incorrect with him being credited. He earned Grammy's for working on the album as a mastering engineer. And, I all of this is cited. I even cited a document from the official Grammys.
- The link:
- "GRAMMY®Award Eligible Credit Definitions" (PDF). March 1, 2019. Retrieved June 2, 2021. All engineers (and others) eligibly credited on a GRAMMY-winning recording will be acknowledged with GRAMMY certificates.
- See References # 3 on is page!
- And, then you will understand how you are wrong.
- And, how you have wrongly tagged the page.
- So, I am asking you to read References # 3 and remove the tag because it is you who are incorrect.
- You are tagging something that you are assuming is wrong and it's not. Please read the References # 3 to gain understanding on how it works and remove the tag.
- actually, here is the link! https://www.recordingacademy.com/sites/com/files/engineer_definitions_final_03_01_2019.pdf
- Thank you @naebwe Naebwe (talk) 17:07, 16 May 2022 (UTC)

So the reference provided supports my claim that he did not receive a Grammy for most of the pieces listed. He received a certificate if a piece he performed a certain amount of work on won an award and only for albums not individual recordings or performances. He did not actually receive a Grammy for most of the list on his article or even a certificate. McMatter (talk)/(contrib) 17:36, 16 May 2022 (UTC)
- What work that is listed- is not work done on an album? Naebwe (talk) 18:40, 16 May 2022 (UTC)
I also feel you are not grasping what certificates are and why they are giving. So I will explain this to you in the most simplest way that I know how. They’re usually 10 to 12 songs on an album. Each of those songs could possibly have seven engineers working on it. Mixers, recording, and etc.
The Recording Academy/Grammys cannot print 70 statues for one album-for JUST the engineers work on one album. that would be 70 statues given out before they even given them to the artist.
That would be very costly and unmanageable, logistics wise.
So instead, engineers receive the certificates. Except for the exceptions that I listed on the page explaining that.
Earning a nomination/ winning certificate is the exact same thing as winning a statue.
So, you’re bearing a false claim and false tag because you don’t understand how it works. I feel that’s inappropriate. And, you keep deleting my pertinent information.
And I’m trying to work with you and ask you what more do you need? I don’t understand what you are wanting or looking looking for. Naebwe (talk) 22:05, 16 May 2022 (UTC)
