However vs. but
I made a valid point, there is no honest rigour. You may be a "warrior for wikipedia" in your mind but all you do is gum up my web searches with useless wiki pages that aren't accurate as often as not when I'm looking for useful information. Does Jim Wales Pay YOU? It's gotten to where I mostly go to the library at the university because your "encyclopedia" has seriously damaged useful web content for serious research.
Feel free to reply on my talk page but I say WIKIPEDIA DOES NOT MEET ACCEPTABLE STANDARDS FOR SCIENTIFIC OR INTELLECTUAL RIGOUR. You can put a million monkeys in a room and they still won't build a nuclear reactor, same thing with wikipedia, a bunch of under 25 editor know it alls that really don't know it all, and the less of a life a person has outside of wikipedia, the higher ranked they are, so your defense of wiki stuff is likely self serving. All wikipedia is is a GLORIFIED WEB FORUM. You know that, I know that. When will you admit it? It's dumbing down the world. Kids aren't going to libraries, nobody opens books anymore, and wikipedia is now "the authority on all things" when it really isn't.

I noticed on the Coeliac disease page that you changed "however" to "but", with an explanation that they're not synonymous.[1] Wiktionary would seem to disagree outright, noting the punctuation rules for that exact same usage, unless I'm missing something. I've checked other sources as well, and all of them somewhere in their definition list a usage synonymous with "but", "yet", "although" or "on the other hand" or "but". (I'll grant that Merriam-Webster.com lists "although" as an archaic usage, though.)

- Thanks for the explanation. I looked in the Canadian Press Stylebook (13th ed.) and didn't find anything on the topic at all, but I may simply not have found it. In any event, I see the point. I think, like so many things, it'll probably be considered an acceptable usage soon enough; however ;), it's probably best not to use it in that context until it becomes more widely accepted to do so. Yeshiva University
Hello. On the Yeshiva University page, I argue that it is right to include the designation "physician and perpetrator of the Cave of Patriarchs Massacre" rather than just "physician" for Baruch Goldstein. No one knows him for being a physician; that is not why he has a Wikipedia article. This man is known for killing innocent people. You wouldn't argue for taking away such a designation from other killers would you? The best I can come up with is that you are trying to make a political statement by removing that. Apropos the change you reverted
I tried to clean up that article, which was a complete mess. Just look for yourself. I cut out big slices - if you read them, I'm sure you'll agree that they do not meet the Wikipedia standard. But the first change was automatically reverted by a bot - that's why I intended to cut out part by part.

Thanks! I wrote Truce terms a while ago and it needs a Canadian section. There is a whole Canadian dictionary dedicated to slang, dialect and folk words and so on. If you could look up "truce term". Also look up kings, kings ex or X, barley, fainites, crosses, keys, skinch and pax. I suspect that like the US, the Canadians have gone over to using time-out but I still need sourced entries for what they used to use and what they use now. The most likely candidates are kings, barley and keys . It would be really interesting to know what Newfoundland children use. Photocopies of all relevent pages would be best.
