Revert to Borderline personality disorder article

edit

Hi New worl!

I wanted to check in regarding your revert to the removal of unsourced info on the borderline personality disorder article. Before reverting the edit discussing Lena Dunham's character as having BPD, I first searched for sources to see if I could find one that supported the information, and there are currently no sources supporting it. If you can find a source for that information, that's wonderful -- I myself am always interested in the portrayal of mental health in television and movies! But since there are no sources at present, I think it's appropriate to remove the information from the article. Is that alright on your end?

Thanks, Firecatalta (talk) 23:14, 7 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

Dear Firecatalta,
Thank you for emailing me. I think you are a very diligent Wikipedian. Please go ahead with your plan.
Best regards,
NW
Thanks! I do think your approach is right on the mark. It's far more constructive to support material with sources whenever possible than to just remove it. Have a wonderful Monday!
Best,
Firecatalta (talk) 17:17, 8 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

Your last revert on Vélib'

edit

Hi,

You reverted my last edit on the article Vélib', stating that my edit was "vandalism". Could you explain why? Slasher-fun (talk) 14:11, 15 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

Hi Slasher-fun,
Thank you for asking me. I saw "1" standing alone in a whole line as in http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=V%C3%A9lib%27&oldid=549032817
Maybe a typo?
Cheers,

Italics

edit

I noticed you added italics around the quotations in this edit. Why did you do this? A quotation should be indicated by quotation marks and nothing else. Italics are used for emphasis, certain titles, and foreign words, not to denote quotations. Quotation marks are sufficient, and putting italics around quotes are simply wrong and unnecessary, so I ask you to please stop adding them in articles. Thanks, Reywas92Talk 17:40, 21 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

Hi Reywas92,
Thank you for asking me. I think italic would help readers go straight to the quote, which will help them in skimming. It is more helpful in long articles.
Please tell me your opinion.
Thank you. New worl (talk) 02:36, 22 April 2013 (UTC)Reply
Well that's not the purpose of italics. The length of an article doesn't matter; some material in a paragraph is a quote, and some isn't. It isn't our role here to help people skim: perhaps the quote isn't even the most important part of paragraph, and other material would be more helpful for skimming. In http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Inner_peace&diff=550298224&oldid=540526457 this edit] to a very short article, the quote is already blocked off, so I don't see what the effect should be. I don't mean to admonish you, but just please don't do it any more. Reywas92Talk 22:49, 22 April 2013 (UTC)Reply
I still believe that italic has many important benefits that have been used fully in Wikipedia. I will think more about this and may make some recommendation in the future. In the end, what is helpful to users will survive and thrive. Cheers, New worl (talk) 05:56, 24 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

May 2013

This is your only warning; if you add defamatory content to Wikipedia again, as you did at Primark, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. This is exactly what I was talking about when I said:
I'm not sure if that is intended to be some kind of threat and or whom it may be directed at. What I can tell you is that vandalism will not be tolerated and I won't hesitate to report it and let an administrator figure out what your comment above implies. I can also tell you that if I was an administrator on this wiki, I would likely consider that a threat and you would end up blocked.
My comment was in regard to the fact that his wording made me think that he was upset about something, was going to Google every possible piece of unreliable blog stuffs he could find and spam the crap out of the article with useless information. I simply wanted to make clear that would not be allowed as it is WP:POINTy... Technical 13 (talk) 20:26, 4 May 2013 (UTC)Reply

Hey, sorry for editing your sandbox. I was trying to be friendly and pass on some useful links, I certainly wasn't intending to annoy or irritate you. It was kinda a peace offering seeing as we've been at loggerheads. No worries. --HighKing (talk) 14:19, 8 May 2013 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Rich Lesser

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Rich Lesser requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article or image appears to be a clear copyright infringement. This article or image appears to be a direct copy from http://www.bcg.com/about_bcg/leadership/executive_committee.aspx. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website or image but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Cyberwarfare in China, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Computer hacking (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver).
