Request reason:
Good evening. When I try editing, I receive the following message: „ The IP address that you are currently using has been blocked because it is believed to be used by a peer-to-peer proxy service“. How can this happen given that I am a registered user? Thank you. Nikkis (talk) 21:14, 13 January 2023 (UTC)
Decline reason:
In general, even registered users can't use proxies or VPNs here. Yamla (talk) 22:29, 13 January 2023 (UTC)
If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
- @Yamla, I am not aware that I am using such a thing. I am connected to my normal wifi. Nikkis (talk) 01:29, 14 January 2023 (UTC)
(Non-administrator comment) If you are using any VPN or Proxy Server to connect to your wifi then please disable it, then after around 24 hours you should be able to edit. VPN's and Proxies are typically blocked from editing to prevent abuse. You are free to use them to read Wikipedia pages. To learn more please read Wikipedia's policy on VPN's and Proxy Servers here. -- StarryNightSky11 ☎ 04:50, 14 January 2023 (UTC)
- Good morning, thank you for your help, @StarryNightSky11. However, I am not using a VPN and I am not aware of proxy servers. I just checked and realized that I am also blocked when using mobile Internet. So, wifi doesn’t seem to be the problem. Here is additional information which may help to identify the problem:
- „The IP address or range (Redacted) has been blocked (disabled) by ST47ProxyBot“.
- Wifi provider is (Redacted) and mobile data provider is (Redacted). Location is (Redacted).
- I don’t experience this problem in other language versions. I checked for the German Wikipedia. I have admin rights there, but cannot imagine that it’s related to user status. Best, Nikkis (talk) 06:44, 14 January 2023 (UTC)

Request reason:
Good morning. Please, which action do I have to undertake to solve this problem? My IP block exemption request was not succesful, and the reason is not very clear for me: „Looking at our logs, it appears the IP address that you are editing from belongs to a peer-to-peer network of anonymous proxies. This means that users are tunneling their internet traffic through another person's device in order to hide their real IP address. Because such services are frequently abused, they are blocked from editing Wikimedia projects. While this may affect legitimate users, they are not the intended targets. See https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/No_open_proxies/P2P for further information. No restrictions are placed on reading Wikipedia through an open or anonymous proxy. Although Wikipedia encourages anyone in the world to contribute, open proxies are often used abusively. MediaWiki, the wiki software that powers Wikipedia, depends on IP addresses for administrator intervention against abuse, especially by anonymous users. Open proxies allow malicious users to rapidly change IP addresses, causing continuous disruption that cannot be stopped by administrators. Several such attacks have occurred on Wikimedia projects, causing disruption and occupying administrators who would otherwise deal with other concerns. Unfortunately, you will not be able to edit while using this open proxy. Please see https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/No_open_proxies/P2P Thanks“

IPBE granted. -- zzuuzz (talk) 14:41, 14 January 2023 (UTC)
Dear @Ivanvector, @Oshwah, @Ponyo, an admin colleague from German Wikipedia recommended to involve check users and to indicate that I am an admin in this Wikipedia so that I can be considered as trusted user. As indicated above, I am blocked both with wifi and mobile data and currently don‘t have any possibility to edit here. While it is not very urgent because I am not a frequent contributor, it‘s still annoying, and I realized it when I wanted to correct a typo yesterday. Thanks a lot for your help. Nikkis (talk) 10:23, 14 January 2023 (UTC)
- Hello Nikkis. I've granted you WP:IPBE for one year. If you're still affected after this time, just ask again. -- zzuuzz (talk) 14:41, 14 January 2023 (UTC)
- Great. Thank you very much. Nikkis (talk) 14:45, 14 January 2023 (UTC)
