Dilomprizulike

edit

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Dilomprizulike, and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://www.gasworks.org.uk/residencies/detail.php?id=303. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details. (If you own the copyright to the previously published content and wish to donate it, see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials for the procedure.)

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot (talk) 19:17, 12 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

However, for textual content, you may simply consider rewriting the content in your own words. While we appreciate contributions, we must require all contributors to understand and comply with our copyright policy. Wikipedia takes copyright concerns very seriously, and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. Thank you. The Blade of the Northern Lights (talk) 19:22, 12 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Although this is a notable subject here, you need to recreate the page without the copyright violation. The Blade of the Northern Lights (talk) 19:22, 12 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Yes, I can see that the article was perhaps a little too close to the source it is referencing but I think the bot picked it up based on the quotation which of course I left unchanged. I think it is a bit over the top to treat this as a 'copyright violation'. I put the article there so that it could be built on by others with an interest and so I used quite basic information - the page that I took the basic information from inevitably uses similar words. Anyway I hope I have made enough changes to it for the big warning to be removed now. Thanks,Nofoto (talk) 21:11, 12 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Ant-vandalism barnstar

Thank you for this - while our articles need to cover racism, they should not engage in it. For future reference - the same vandal added a few more sentences elsewhere in the article that I found and fixed by clicking the View history tab at the top of the page. Good luck and happy editing, - 2/0 (cont.) 19:46, 15 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Thanks very much! Fortunately this sort of thing is easy to spot - however I am quite concerned about the amount of xenophobic content/ideology and right-wing neologisms that are seeping into Wikipedia ([Immigration and crime] for example) - they would demand more time and energy! Is there somewhere on wikipedia where people can flag things if they think the xenophobic basis of the article is a problem? Nofoto (talk) 18:11, 17 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

Yes, it's very perplexing! I think the person genuinely doesn't understand what is wrong with his spam. Thanks for your support. Nofoto (talk) 17:49, 17 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
