How to keep your articles from getting deleted

Hi NortSide505! Did you know that you can create draft articles through your userpage? This is called a sandbox. See here for instructions. If you create a tiny stub without references, it is likely to get deleted very quickly, but if you wait until you have written a good article in your sandbox, you are much less likely to have trouble. Hey LeSnail, Tnx for advice- As I mentioned I am new to WP but was aware of sandbox- as it happens the article is 95% 'ready' in my sandbox but I was proofing the refs etc- the only reason I loaded a stub was I found myself in a catch-22: I had to have a page to load one of the images!! A few comments. You did a nice job of saving Alan Ruddock, but it would have been better to source it first. Also, I would say your comment "Ruddock is notable by virtue of being one of the few westerners & only Irish national to have be a direct student of the Aikido founder" is wrong by virtue of WP:NOTINHERITED. Alan Ruddock

The use of titles is problematic in martial arts articles and are generally advised against in the martial arts MOS. Wikipedia is supposed to be for a wider audience so I can understand how overuse of titles makes no sense. O sensei in particular is used in only some groups of Aikido and in a few other arts for their guys and as a term itself is very tenuous. I was a bit global in my changes so if you feel that a direct quote of Ruddock used the term by all means put it back. I think the article is pretty good although in my opinion it has a bit too much of an essay feel rather than an encyclopedia article and perhaps unjustly that parts were copied from somewhere else. Not really sure how to change it (so dont worry about it). The only thing keeping it from a B class is that and the need for a few more citations.Peter Rehse (talk) 03:10, 6 October 2012 (UTC)

By unjustly I mean that my feeling that it was copied was unjust. Please understand those last comments were just impressions - overall i think the article is very good, informative, and way better than much that is out there.
