My apologies.
I tried to edit the links (I purposely left the link at the top as a redirect because that's the way it was listed. I apologize for moving it. ral315 04:38, Jun 13, 2005 (UTC)
EB2004
Hi. Pleased to see you attacking the EB 2004 list. I noticed you created a redirect from Tailless Whip Scorpion to Amblypygid. However the latter page contains no mention of the former, so the redirect is confusing for the reader who thinks "huh, what's this"?. I am not saying the redirect is inappropriate (I do not know whether it is or not) but if it is appropriate, the target page should at least mention the items that redirect there. If necessary you are allowed to edit the target to make sure the target does mention the redirected page. I do this a lot. Pcb21| Pete 10:24, 14 Jun 2005 (UTC)
- The other redirects I checked looked really good though. Thanks for joining in! Pcb21| Pete 10:27, 14 Jun 2005 (UTC)
Waffles
I don't really have any complaints about what you took out of the awful waffle article. But if you 're interested in waffles, couldn't you take the time to add something really significant? Please excuse my crankiness. I just keep finding myself in the middle of nutty food articles that are abandoned stubs, or rank soups spoiled by way too many chefs. Some of the latter are hopeless. You either come in there with a giant weed-whacker, or you leave it alone. Unless you're a masochist, in which case, never mind. And what do I know? I'm going to assault cheesecake in the next week. When my bloody carcass is hauled by, think about what I've said. cheerios, Mothperson 02:26, 16 Jun 2005 (UTC)
- I was suffering the after-effects of too many hours trailing sock puppets, and was feeling way too paranoid. You most certainly did improve the waffle article. You took out stuff I didn't have the gumption to, not being willing to make that kind of change on an article that is so active, and not feeling like doing a major rewrite, either. But why should I feel I have to? Or you? My apologies for not making myself clear. I just hate seeing someone smart go by and not stop for longer. By the way, the doughnut article could use some more pruning, if you're in the mood, and I did like your waffle iron addition very much. --Mothperson 12:20, 16 Jun 2005 (UTC)
- Golden child! A dozen virtual doughnuts to you (the good kind, made by my local bakery). I no longer cringe when I look at that article. Okay, I wince at the inevitable Simpson reference, but we can't get rid of them all. Live long and prosper. --Mothperson 17:11, 16 Jun 2005 (UTC)
Gluten!
Thank for the commendation. Ironically, the information that I put into the article is almost entirely from a comment that Essjay left on my talk page in response to an edit I made of Basilica of the Sacré Cœur. How wonderful that a comment about one issue should be so perfectly on point for another! JHCC (talk) 19:21, 24 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Regarding Lou images
The Lou image links were on the same page as the Lou image stuff itself.
(These are NWS links to two of the Lou images) [1] and [2]
This proves that there ARE Lou images.

Calvin and Hobbes
Hi. Thanks very much for your work on Calvin and Hobbes. This article was close to my heart (I tooled on it a little when it was first up for FA), and I was sorry to see it getting watered down. Whatever you do, don't stop now!
Refering to the recent redirecting of the Hot Coffee mod to Hot coffee, I have decided to revert the latest edits and copy all relevent contents from "Hot coffee" back to "Hot Coffee mod".
The problem with the "Hot coffee" title is that it isn't fully capitalized and may also imply that the article is refering to a cup of hot coffee (this has been mentioned in a tagged comment in the main Hot coffee article). Secondly, even with "Coffee" capitalized, the term "Hot Coffee" itself is vague in meaning. It is for that reason that I believe that the article is better named "Hot Coffee mod", since the mod is essentially, well, a mod named after its association with CJ's girlfriend asking CJ to come home for a cup of coffee. I also approve for the inclusion of a diambaguation text (to "coffee") on top of this article.
Note that there is also a related Hot Coffee article that has now become a redirect page to the "Hot Coffee mod" article.
french fries
Hi, Just in case you didn't notice, my edit about french fries captialization was minor, the claim was put there by someone else, I just added "some people claim that.." (preceding unsigned comment by 85.101.166.181 20:03, 27 July 2005)
Thanks for your help
I am a new WIKI contributor and the San Diego Public (City) Library was my first effort. Hope I was not too sloppy on the first try. Your assistance was most appreciated. Goldsheet 18:28, 2 August 2005 (UTC)
> I'm assuming that you created the article after going to the San Diego County Library article, which I had just made an hour before! If you don't mind me asking, what made you stumble upon it? --
A friend was looking for a book on San Diego Railroads (Rails of the Silver Gate : the Spreckels San Diego empire / Richard V. Dodge.) After looking at both the City and County websites ended up at Wikipedia. Saw your article for SD County Library, but nothing for SD City Library, so I used your article as a guide for my first contibution.
P.S. I live in La Mesa, but usually use San Carlos City Branch. Looking forward to new College-Rolando branch near SDSU (opens mid-September) Goldsheet 18:21, 4 August 2005 (UTC)
Linkage
Although I don't care if there is a second link to Nobuo Uematsu on the FF 6 page, the reader doesn't have to hunt for a link, there is one in the preceding section about 4 lines up. Derktar 01:51, August 10, 2005 (UTC).
Princess Peach of the Mushroom Kingdom
...Huh? Where did that even come from? -- A Link to the Past 04:19, August 12, 2005 (UTC)
- It is utterly absurd though (no offense intended). Wikipedia should aim for reasonable names. Mario was shown as the King of Mushroom Kingdom in the Mario Land games, so shouldn't he be King Mario of the Mushroom Kingdom? -- A Link to the Past 04:34, August 12, 2005 (UTC)
- We should see then that King Arthur would be King Arthur of Camelot. But it is not. -- A Link to the Past 04:41, August 12, 2005 (UTC)

Hey,
I just want to let you know, that I think you've done great work to the Final Fantasy VI article. I was woundering if you think that its ready to be nominated for FAC? --ZeWrestler Talk 13:06, 30 August 2005 (UTC)
- Sounds good to me. As for darkevil, i've been woundering that myself. I haven't seen any activity from him in a while. --ZeWrestler Talk 16:49, 30 August 2005 (UTC)
- Added note, I would like to work on Chrono trigger as well, but I haven't played the game yet, so I don't want to ruin anything about the game, that i would learn from working on the article. I know of a user in the Final Fantasy project, Peaceman who would be more than happy to help you work on that article. That game is the reason why peaceman joined the project.--ZeWrestler Talk 16:53, 30 August 2005 (UTC)

FF6 graphics comparision
Norvy, I reverted your comparision of the different versions of Terra in the Final Fantasy VI article. To begin with, adding significant new material at this stage is almost certain to sabotage the FAC vote, as it implies that the article is not yet stable. Secondly, it's very close to the huge table of slight graphical censorship changes that multiple people complained about during the FAC vote. If it's relevant at all, it's probably better suited to the Terra Branford article. Sorry an' all.... ^_^ – Seancdaug 02:55, September 4, 2005 (UTC)
- Both, actually. I'm not convinced the paragraph needs illustration, since the images only convey what is pretty clearly outlined in the prose (the chameleonic hair color), and I do believe that it is going to be objected to in the FAC for exactly the same reasons the last major revision of the censorship section was objected to (reasons which, in hindsight, I am inclined to agree with). Sorry. – Seancdaug 05:05, September 4, 2005 (UTC)
With help from another user, I added in a sentence which I see as a compromise to your objection. If you think it is acceptable, I wish for you to come back to the page and strike out your objection. It is up to you if you wish to add in a support vote or tell me if there is anything I am missing, still. Zscout370 (Sound Off) 22:13, 4 September 2005 (UTC)
Thanks a lot for your help with Hypnotize/Mezmerize. I very much appreciate the support. Pasboudin 17:16, 5 September 2005 (UTC)

performance art
hi there. i am with you about the invidious business of listing artists - vanity does seem to be the criterion for inclusion for some of the entries. perhaps editors such as yourself need to use a simple rule of thumb - perhaps if google does not draw a result on an entry or there is no press file at that person's wiki or web site then they are perhaps a candidate for deletion?
i think it would less of a clutter to follow your suggestion of lists appearing in categories - but even THESE would need pruning along the above lines.

I just wanted to point out that the sentence that was taken out of this article and Mesmerize were part of a larger compromise to avoid an edit war. Apparently there was some confusion, as evidenced by the long debate on these two articles, and I believe that this is an acceptable compromise. Wouldn't it be better to leave the sentence than to engage in endless edit wars over these two articles? Danny 02:30, 7 September 2005 (UTC)
Thanks.
Hi Norvy,
thanks for your warm welcome! :) I've noticed that you live in San Diego and hey - I love the city!!!! I had the chance to work in SD for some months during my internship and it really has been one of the most exciting experience of my life. Gosh - I wish I could come back...

The contents of Portal: Three Kingdoms were restored, and I merged its page history with your recreation at Portal - Three Kingdoms. When doing so, I elected to leave the old contents of Portal: Three Kingdoms as the topmost revision, thus overwriting any new work you might have made in that article. If there is anything new in your recreation of the article, you should consider merging your edits with the new topmost revision. --cesarb 01:08, 24 September 2005 (UTC)

Pizza
Norvy - I'm sorry, I've been neglecting my wikipedia work dreadfully this past month. Too much time spent on friends and family enduring hurricanes. I will get back in the next couple of weeks. I think you are absolutely right regarding the pizza questions. I have no tolerance for recipes in an encyclopedia entry, and that etiquette thing was dreadful. As far as I'm concerned, you've got a virtual gold weed-whacker when it comes to stuff like this. And I will pay more attention to pizza and revert as well when it gets out of hand. Reverting chores should be spread out. Thank you for thinking my opinion is worth something. It may not be, but I'm going to pretend it does. And I trust yours. --Mothperson cocoon 16:11, 29 September 2005 (UTC)
Thank you for supporting me on RfA!
Dear Norvy: I wanted to thank you very much for your support of my recent RfA candidacy. I am most honoured by the trust that has been placed in me by yourself and other members of the Wikipedia community. I promise to only use my administrative privileges to assist the community in doing good work, and also to be calm, considerate and careful in my work in helping to make Wikipedia a nicer place. I am finding Spoken Wikipedia a very interesting adjunct to my editing work, and look forward to being able to contribute more recordings of spoken articles; thank you for mentioning my work in this field. I look forward to working with you in the future, both on Spoken Wikipedia and on other areas of Wikipedia. Thanks again, --NicholasTurnbull | (talk) (e-mail) (cabal) 01:13, 8 October 2005 (UTC)

Magic the Gathering - "Fifth Dawn" - error
The "Fifth Dawn" page incorrectly discusses the card "Door to Nothingness" in the "Notable Cards". The card does not "require two mana of every color to play" - it "requires 5 mana to play." The remainder of the article is correct. Edits cannot be made by most users, as the article is locked.
Infobox Library
Hi Norvy. Thanks for your message. I have a few comments, and can think of a few improvements.
- Usage In the usage, it would be great to have a better explanation of what the fields mean. Most are self-explanatory, but a couple are ambiguous. To wit:
- pop_served It's actually not clear if this was the name of the population (e.g. Washington, DC) or the size of the population (e.g. 3.5 million). I presume it refers to the size of the population, which takes me to my next point.
- Location I think it would be good to have a location field, just to indicate where the library is. It invariably shows up in the body of the article, but it would be nice to see it in the summary.
- Branches While there is already num_branches, would it make sense for there to be a uniform method to enumerate the branches of the library? It occurred to me before that it might make sense to have a separate "branches" infobox. What are your thoughts?
That's all I can think of at the moment. Thanks for putting the infobox together. pbryan 18:26, 19 January 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks for the changes you made to Infobox Library. I'll start giving them a test drive. pbryan 22:01, 19 January 2007 (UTC)
- I made a proposal for revision/extension of this infobox that you can see at Template_talk:Infobox_Library. I'd appreciate your comments. Regards Clpda (talk) 13:43, 11 July 2008 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of TrueAchievements.com
A tag has been placed on TrueAchievements.com requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a company or corporation, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for companies and corporations.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

Orphaned non-free image File:SDCLLogo.png
Thanks for uploading File:SDCLLogo.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 02:40, 8 June 2019 (UTC)
The file File:IntLibSymbol.gif has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
unused, low-res, no obvious use
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.
Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
This bot DID NOT nominate any file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 01:01, 29 June 2019 (UTC)
Tagging an admin so that they could see it. @TonyBallioni
Don't link irrelevant discussions outside of the project if it's not relevant to the AFD. Doing so is against WP:OUTING. Another user seems to be attempting to out me too. Check these diffs: [1] [2] --Sk8erPrince (talk) 17:15, 4 November 2019 (UTC)
- Seems pretty relevant to me, as the AFD may be brigaded from this outside source. Additionally, I don't see anything in that link that would fall under personal information. Best, -- Norvy (talk) 17:19, 4 November 2019 (UTC)
The article List of Magic: The Gathering theme decks has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Confusing to those that don't play the game, Unclear organization of contents, confusing layout. I would suggest if this page is kept that the community might redesign the entire page into a list format (i.e, similar to the list of Magic the Gathering sets), instead of the long graphical listing that it is currently.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. MtgLord23 (talk) 16:10, 5 March 2020 (UTC)

List of Magic the Gathering Theme decks
Hello Norvy, First of all, I apologize for trying to get your page (list of Magic the gathering theme decks) deleted. Second, I would like to find some more sources for the 41 card deck, as I'm not sure what that means. I'm sure you know decks are usually 60 cards, (100 for commander).
Thanks for your time in creating the initial article. MtgLord23 (talk) 02:07, 21 April 2020 (UTC)

FRS survey
Hi Norvy, thanks for your response to the FRS survey!
The survey is not meant to be open for responses yet; I'm still finalising the questions that will be asked. I'd put a notice at the top of the page stating that, but it's not clear enough - sorry for the confusion! Were you linked to the page anywhere?
Cheers, Naypta ☺ | ✉ talk page | 19:52, 18 June 2020 (UTC)
- Sorry I missed that notice. I'm following the discussion on Yapperbot's page. My question still stands, but I'm open to a response at the location of your choice. -- Norvy (talk) 20:01, 18 June 2020 (UTC)
- @Norvy: No worries;
I'll respond over there so that when the survey is launched, the response stays there for people to see.on second thoughts, probably best to move this to User talk:Yapperbot - I'll get that sorted. Naypta ☺ | ✉ talk page | 20:06, 18 June 2020 (UTC)
