Tables of cricketers

edit

Hello. Thanks for adding a better table of cricketers for MI Cape Town. I can see you've started to do the same on at least one other article. I appreciate the work this takes.

I've removed the Year signed column from the table at MI Cape Town. It seems redundant to me - they were all signed in the same year as it's the first one the team has existed for. If there are lots of changes next year then it should be added to that season's article perhaps. But otherwise I really don't think we need it.

I've also removed the colours from the header row. There are all sorts of issues with yellow(wish) text on a blue background. This is one of the most common colour combinations that cause issues for colour blind readers and I tend to prefer to not use purely decorative colours either. It's probably a lot easier to just use blank colour header rows - save the colour for the rows which need to be coloured to indicate that someone is injured perhaps?

Does that all make sense? Let me know if you have any queries. Blue Square Thing (talk) 15:02, 14 January 2023 (UTC)Reply

Hello. Its okay. But can I put some colors on it so it may look better? if that's ok with you. NoyalZIRock (talk) 15:06, 14 January 2023 (UTC)Reply
Build the tables first and then can we take a look afterwards in a separate edit - it makes it a lot easier to roll it back if we come to the conclusion that it's a bad idea. You should take a look at the (slightly complex) MOS:COLOUR. Blue Square Thing (talk) 16:14, 14 January 2023 (UTC)Reply

April 2023

edit

Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give a page a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into Suyash Sharma. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases for registered users, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. Thank you. –Novem Linguae (talk) 17:17, 7 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom 2023 Elections voter message

edit

Hello! Voting in the 2023 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 11 December 2023. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2023 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:54, 28 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

Your draft article, Draft:Rajan Kumar

edit

Hello, NoyalZIRock. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Rajan Kumar".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been deleted. When you plan on working on it further and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. Liz Read! Talk! 20:43, 14 December 2023 (UTC)Reply

Delhi Capitals in 2023 moved to draftspace

edit

An article you recently created, Delhi Capitals in 2023, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page.
