Hello Obari2Kay, and welcome to Wikipedia. All or some of your addition(s) to Goldie Harvey has had to be removed, as it appears to have added copyrighted material without permission from the copyright holder. While we appreciate your contributing to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from your sources to avoid copyright or plagiarism issues here.

  • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
  • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. (There is a college-level introduction to paraphrase, with examples, hosted by the Online Writing Lab of Purdue.) Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
  • Our primary policy on using copyrighted content is Wikipedia:Copyrights. You may also want to review Wikipedia:Copy-paste.
  • If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. However, there are steps that must be taken to verify that license before you do. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
  • In very rare cases (that is, for sources that are public domain or compatibly licensed), it may be possible to include greater portions of a source text. However, please seek help at the help desk before adding such content to the article. 99.9% of sources may not be added in this way, so it is necessary to seek confirmation first. If you do confirm that a source is public domain or compatibly licensed, you will still need to provide full attribution; see Wikipedia:Plagiarism for the steps you need to follow.
  • Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you can, but please follow the steps in Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. — Diannaa (talk) 21:50, 8 July 2016 (UTC)Reply

I have read and understood this Help:Referencing for beginners but in time i would also review the other polices of Wikipedia, Thank's for caring Diannaa an i am grateful and always be to the knowledge you just passed... By tomorrow i would read all. --Obari2Kay (talk) 22:18, 8 July 2016 (UTC)Reply

File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Spinall Cap.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status and its source. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously.

If you did not create this work entirely yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. You will also need to state under what licensing terms it was released. Please refer to the image use policy to learn what files you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. The page on copyright tags may help you to find the correct tag to use for your file.

Please add this information by editing the image description page. If the necessary information is not added within the next seven days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please also check any other files you may have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Whpq (talk) 14:17, 1 August 2016 (UTC)Reply

Helpful tips to improve your contributions here

edit

Greetings Obari2Kay! Welcome to Wikipedia and thanks for your contributions thus far. Below are some tips to help you write better articles and be more productive. Please read MOS:CAPS to get a better understanding of caps.

  1. Do a Google search of the subject you want to write about and pick out good looking webpages.
  2. Focus on newspaper articles and websites with sufficient paragraph and sentences.
  3. Work on creating the article in your sandbox before moving it to mainspace.
  4. Write the article in your own words in order to avoid plagiarism.
  5. Make sure the article reflects the content of the sources you find. The references you cite must support what you say.
  6. Stick to citing secondary references independent of the subject.
  7. Proofread the article before moving the page to mainspace. Alternatively, you can request for a Guild of Copy Editors participant to look at it once you move it to mainspace.
  8. Make sure the article you are creating passes WP:GNG in order to prevent it from being speedily deleted or taken to WP:AFD.  Versace1608  Wanna Talk? 00:24, 3 August 2016 (UTC)Reply

Replaceable fair use File:DJ SPinall.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading File:DJ SPinall.jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and add the text {{di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}} below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing <your reason> with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.
  2. On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 22:09, 3 August 2016 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Draft:Koker (musician)

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Draft:Koker (musician), requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion debate, such as at articles for deletion. Under the specified criteria, where a page has substantially identical content to that of a page deleted after debate, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Help people find the articles you start

edit

Please remember that if you create an article with a title like Koker (singer) you need to help people to find it from Koker. In this case there was a disambiguation page which needed a new entry adding (I've done it), sometimes there'll just be one article which needs a "hatnote" adding. There's a lot to learn about editing Wikipedia, but it's an interesting journey. Happy Editing! PamD 18:10, 9 December 2016 (UTC)Reply

@Obari2Kay: I am not Nigerian. Does one have to be Nigerian to edit Nigeria-related articles? The answer to that question is a resounding no. I don't understand what you meant in your previous response. What exactly are you asking me about Wikipedia? Your ranking of the aforementioned industry executives is your opinion and yours alone. If a subject doesn't meet Wikipedia's notability guidelines, that subject isn't notable to have a separate article. It's that simple. The popularity and influence of a subject doesn't make the subject notable to be included in this encyclopedia. Just to help, the link for uploading images on wikipedia using the upload wizard is [2], but as Versace1608 said, creating articles about not so notable individuals will only waste your time, they end up been deleted in the end. ʍaɦʋɛօtʍ (talk) 10:40, 22 March 2017 (UTC)Reply
@Mahveotm: Greetings Obari2kay. In addition to the reply Mahveotm posted, please read this response. If you are going to upload images from Flickr onto Wikipedia, you must make sure that the images are licensed freely. Please visit Wikipedia:Upload/Flickr for more information on uploading images from Flickr. You can read more about OTRS at WP:OTRS. If you want to upload images that you do not own the copyright to, you'll need to contact the copyright owner and request that they license the image under a free license. You can ask for permission by contacting the copyright owner(s) of the photo(s) you want to upload. If the copyright owner agrees to release their photo under a free license, they must fill out a WP:CONSENT form and email it (with the photo(s) attached to the email) to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, or put a creative commons license below the images (if the images are available on their website).  Versace1608  Wanna Talk? 01:44, 27 March 2017 (UTC)Reply

Hello. I just wanted to let you know that when you add the title of a book, film, album, magazine, or TV series to an article, it should be italicized by adding two single apostrophes on either side ('' ''). Titles of television episodes, short stories and songs should be placed within quotation marks. More detail can be found in the Wikipedia Manual of Style. Thank you.  Versace1608  Wanna Talk? 00:26, 27 March 2017 (UTC)Reply

Your recent activity

Hi Obari2Kay, I just checked your contributions page and saw that you created a draft about K9. The singer is not notable enough to have a separate article in mainspace. Please do not waste your time creating articles about people who are not notable. If I were you, I'd put in a deletion request for Draft:K9 (singer) and Draft:DJ Lambo. Not every known artist can have a separate article on Wikipedia. Please keep this in mind. Also, please read WP:ELMINOFFICIAL. I had to remove the external links you added to the Niniola article.  Versace1608  Wanna Talk? 21:28, 5 April 2017 (UTC)Reply

I disagree Tubers. I don't think that she has been discussed significantly to warrant stand-alone inclusion. The two notable accolades she garnered and the three singles she released are not enough in my opinion. Apart from the The Indestructible Choc Boi Nation compilation album, none of her musical releases or body of work have been discussed in reliable sources. My personal opinion is that DJ Lambo hasn't done enough to warrant a separate article.  Versace1608  Wanna Talk? 01:19, 7 April 2017 (UTC)Reply

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Gifty Powers, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Model. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Replaceable fair use File:Gifty Powers.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading File:Gifty Powers.jpg.

Thank you. – Train2104 (t • c) 03:50, 22 April 2017 (UTC)Reply

Constant habit of emboldening names

edit

Hi Obari2Kay. Please refrain from making the names of people mentioned in the article appear in bold letters. This makes the article look untidy in read mode. I noticed that you do this regularly. The Gifty Powers article you recently created is a prime example of this. You should only emboldened the subject's name once. All of the articles you've created have this issue. Please make changes to the articles you've written, thanks.  Versace1608  Wanna Talk? 23:20, 25 April 2017 (UTC)Reply

I am talking about the Gifty Powers article and every other article you've created. You should only emboldened Gifty Powers's birth name, date of birth, and stage name once. No other nouns in the article should be in bold letters. I hope you understand what I'm saying now.  Versace1608  Wanna Talk? 01:54, 27 April 2017 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Dice Ailes

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Dice Ailes, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion discussion, such as at Articles for Deletion. When a page has substantially identical content to that of a page deleted after a discusion, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

Versace1608  Wanna Talk? 22:22, 27 April 2017 (UTC)Reply

Vandalizing Articles

edit

Please stop continuing to remove maintenance templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to Dice Ailes, without resolving the problem that the template refers to. This may be considered disruptive editing. Further edits of this type may result in your account being blocked from editing. Hello, Removal of maintainance tags without first addressing the issues isnt a norm in wikipedia editing, for example the aforementioned article had a copyedit tag placed on it amonngst others, if you do not know how to do copyedit to an article leave it there so someone who does may assist you rather than just delete it. do take note. Orphaned non-free image File:Situationship song.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading File:Situationship song.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. Requested username:

Request reason:

I read the investigations that led to my block, I am not Oluwa2Chain and I'm here to declare, I once had a connection with Jay Pizzle and G-Worldwide artist Sugarboy. That was the only reason for always trying to create an article for them, even when I failed to understand WP:GNG. The block is no longer necessary because I have stayed away for so long, read a couple of articles, and also read beginners' guidelines to understand better. with some helpful tips by Versace1608, I believe I will do better. I also checked Oluwa2Chainz achieved 1 on the talk page, it clear he/she has been exiting here before I joined Wikipedia. If you checked Oluwa2Chainz contributions, you will under he/she is an experienced editor. I believe the similarity between both usernames are Oluwa"2"Chainz and Obari"2"Kay, for that reason, I am taking off the "2" in my username and requesting a change of username to "ObaKay64". I also plead to the admins and Berean Hunter to please unblock me.--Obari2Kay (talk) 06:21, 12 October 2020 (UTC)

Decline reason:

Nice try, but bad luck. You evidently hoped your unblock request would be assessed by an administrator who had not recently done a review of the editing history of your various accounts, including your latest one, and who was also too stupid to either do so or consult another administrator with more experience of your history. Unfortunately it didn't happen. JBW (talk) 13:33, 13 October 2020 (UTC)Reply
