Ghostwire: Tokyo
Hello,
I noticed that you made an article for Ghostwire: Tokyo, even though I created a draft article for the same game months ago at Draft:GhostWire: Tokyo. I was wondering why you decided on creating this particular, as this action could potentially destroy or erase my editing history on the draft. Can we please either merge the histories, or find a solution that benefits both of us? I would hate for this valuable editing history to be ignored or swept under the rug. Cardei012597 (talk) 00:11, 25 June 2020 (UTC)
The move was successful. Cardei012597 (talk) 00:26, 25 June 2020 (UTC)
- @Cardei012597: - I didn't know there was a draft for this game. I am fine with you incorporating your content in a new article. I have added a split article template to the article's talk page for now and I am satisfied with that. Next time, just create the article in the article space instead of doing it in the draftspace. They are a waste of time, at least in the context of video game articles. I recommend you to move the remaining video game draft articles you have written (Swansong, Outlast Trials and Weird West) to mainspace as soon as possible or else this same incident will occur again. OceanHok (talk) 04:51, 25 June 2020 (UTC)
- Ok, I may just move the other video game drafts now. Cardei012597 (talk) 05:20, 25 June 2020 (UTC)
- On second thought, I think I might not move Weird West and Heaven Burns Red to the mainspace, as they are light on sources and information. I did, however, move Swansong and Outlast Trials as they have more info fleshed out, and had confirmed release date targets. Thanks again, for your understanding of this situation. Hitman (2016 video game)
Hello, OceanHok. This is a courtesy notice that the copy edit you requested for Hitman (2016 video game) at the Guild of Copy Editors requests page is now complete. All feedback welcome! Cheers, Baffle☿gab 04:18, 10 July 2020 (UTC) |
- Hi OceanHok, in "Release" --> "Release format", I've marked a sentence with {{needs clarification}}. In "The positive reaction to Sapienza ... by changing the formula[clarification needed] in later maps, ..."; I found the mention of "the formula" confusing. I hadn't noticed any mention of a formula earlier in the article, so the formula in question should be identified here. Other than that, the article is in good shape and I think it's easily up to GA standard. Good luck and cheers, Baffle☿gab 04:18, 10 July 2020 (UTC)
- @Baffle gab1978: - Thanks for the help! OceanHok (talk) 04:31, 10 July 2020 (UTC)

State of Decay
Hi, you moved State of Decay to State of Decay (TV episode) - but it's not an episode, it's a serial in four parts. Where was this move discussed?
You then converted the resultant redirect into a disambiguation page without fixing up the inward links, as a result of which there are now something like 120 pages that are now incorrectly linked. Those should have been resolved before the redirect was repurposed. Please clean up after yourself. --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 22:45, 23 July 2020 (UTC)

Judgment
I really haven't thought about it since making Takayuki Yagami GA, but do you think Judgment (video game) is lacking something to become GA? I think the gameplay is covered completely but I don't know if the plot should be reorganized. Just wondering since I noted you removed PS4 label. I guess it prose needs a revision though. Cheers.Tintor2 (talk) 00:46, 3 September 2020 (UTC)
- @Tintor2: - I think the article looks fine! OceanHok (talk) 12:14, 3 September 2020 (UTC)
- Nice. I'm not that confident in my skills on gaming articles so a conomination would be good if you are interested. That's how I made .hack//G.U. GA with another editor last month.Tintor2 (talk) 17:39, 3 September 2020 (UTC)
- I would like to help, but I don't think I know enough about this game to do a co-nom. I would probably be more comfortable reviewing it as a GA reviewer instead. As for prose, I suggest sending the articles to WP:GOCE, whose members are amazing at refining an article's prose. I also noticed DualShockers being used but it is not a reliable source. OceanHok (talk) 18:22, 3 September 2020 (UTC)
- In case you could review something I happened to have nominated The King of Fighters XIV some week ago. It's the second nomination since the first reviewer was busy in real life so there was not much to do.Tintor2 (talk) 23:34, 3 September 2020 (UTC)
Copy edit of Dying Light
Just a couple notes from my copy edit of Dying Light
Crane can utilize his "survivor sense"
This is the first mention of Crane in the body of the article. This might be confusing if the reader skipped the lead. (As it starts a sentence, the reader might think it refers to a mechanical crane.) Add a little more for context, that this is Kyle Crane, the playable character. (I didn't do this myself as I didn't want to add without a source.)Paweł Błaszczak, the audio director of Techland, who has previously composed the music for The Witcher, Dead Island, and Call of Juarez
I removed this list of games. Since no comparisons are drawn, it didn't seem to serve a point.
I hope this has been helpful. Please {{ping}} me if you have any questions. – Reidgreg (talk) 15:33, 17 September 2020 (UTC)

Valorant
Hey, I saw that you completely took down the list of agents that I added in valorant. and stated that it was entirely WP:GAMECRUFT but when I looked into it, all I found to be relatable was point 7 - "Lists of gameplay items, weapons, or concepts: Specific point values, achievements and trophies, time-limits, levels (including lists of stadia/sport venues), character moves, character weight classes, unlockable characters, vehicles, and so on are considered inappropriate. Sometimes a concise summary is appropriate if it is essential to understanding the game or its significance in the industry." The only details I added were the names of agents, so I wanted to know if it is actually counted. P.S I'll Undo the edit and make changes to make sure it's less opinionated as pointed out by another editor. KaosElegent (talk) 08:04, 6 January 2021 (UTC)

Hello:
The copy edit you requested from the Guild of Copy Editors of the article Assassin's Creed Origins has been completed.

The Plot section exceeds the recommended length of 700 words by about 20. It would be a good idea if you can find a way to reduce it a bit.

DYK for Sucker Punch Productions
On 9 February 2021, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Sucker Punch Productions, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Sucker Punch Productions. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Sucker Punch Productions), and if they received a combined total of at least 416.7 views per hour (ie, 5,000 views in 12 hours or 10,000 in 24), the hook may be added to the statistics page. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.
Hello OceanHok, I appreciate you helping me with the current and continued maintenance of Mario Golf: Super Rush and Splatoon 3. Edit warring at It Takes Two (video game)
Regarding your actions at It Takes Two (video game), the manual of style for video games (WP:VG/PLOT) says that the plot section should be proportional, that it should have only the simplest of detail, and that it should generally stay under 700 words.
The reduced-size plot in my edit is within the guideline. A badly bloated plot, far larger than 700 words, tagged for its too-large size, is not within the guideline.
There is no requirement for any plot section in Wikipedia to be exhaustive in every detail; fully complete. Rather, the plot section is there to give a basic idea to the reader. It's not a replacement for experiencing the plot in person. Binksternet (talk) 16:17, 13 April 2021 (UTC)
- No, it should be a complete section. The solution is to trim the plot section, not to reduce it to such a small section that only cover the background. Long plot is not ideal, but it is better than having nothing. OceanHok (talk) 16:43, 13 April 2021 (UTC)
- I agree that a strong pruning job is a good idea, to rewrite the plot so that it approaches 700 words, but I disagree strongly that a tagged, bloated plot is preferable to a minimal plot. Binksternet (talk) 18:30, 13 April 2021 (UTC)
Mutant Year Zero: Removing rows from reception table
Hi. You deleted a few rows from the reception table in this revision:
claiming that scores given by the magazines, whose review was unused in the text should be removed. I dare to disagree:
1) Why the table should be only recap of the text, not something giving the full picture?
2) While it is sometimes hard to translate the French and German reviews, the scores of German Gamestar and French Jeuxvideo.com may be useful. They give a view how the game is received outside the English-writing press.
By the way, I like you consequently put gameplay before plot, the habit of putting plot first was sick.
Yours sincerely, MichalZim (talk) 07:36, 16 April 2021 (UTC)
- @MichalZim: - Please see the guidelines from Template:video game reviews. We only include reviews if they are cited within the text. OceanHok (talk) 13:47, 16 April 2021 (UTC)
