The review process
editDrafts submitted to Articles for Creation go to reviewers. There is a backlog of more than 5,000 drafts. The system is not a queue. Reviewers select what they want to review. So, could be days, weeks, or (sadly) months. If accepted, a draft becomes an article. In not, can be Declined with comments (meaning the reviewer thinks there is potential) or Rejected. (Or Speedy deleted if fatal flaw, such as containing copyright protected content.) There is a period during which accepted articles can be found via a search within Wikipedia, but not via external search engines. This is 90 days, or sooner if one of the New Page Patrollers gets to it an approves it. Drafts that are declined can be improved and resubmitted. One of the most common errors by new-to-the-process editors is to include content they know to be true, but neglecting to provide reliable source references for validation.
