Replaceable fair use File:Roberto Estuardo Penedo. Award Ceremony. Honoris Causa Doctor in Services to the Human Kind.jpg
editThanks for uploading File:Roberto Estuardo Penedo. Award Ceremony. Honoris Causa Doctor in Services to the Human Kind.jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the file description page and add the text
{{di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}}
below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing<your reason>
with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable. - On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. – Train2104 (t • c) 11:23, 11 May 2017 (UTC)
Train2104, Thank you for your explanation. I noticed that the photo has been removed from the article, which is not an issue right now. My main concern is to keep the article alive. Does it mean to #rewrite it or how to keep it save on Wiki? Olga Wills (talk) 12:30, 11 May 2017 (UTC)
Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that you removed some content from Don Beyer without explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; I restored the removed content. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you! Materialscientist I have removed the links because the pages of those links are "Not Found", which can not be a reliable source according to Wiki standards, or the rules are not the same to everyone? Olga Wills (talk) 00:34, 12 May 2017 (UTC)

editPlease do not remove maintenance templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to Roberto Estuardo Penedo, without resolving the problem that the template refers to, or giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your removal of this template does not appear constructive, and has been reverted. Thank you. — JJMC89 (T·C) 00:05, 12 May 2017 (UTC)
JJMC89, I'm the one who wrote that article on Blogger that you are referring in here, so there is no violations to that because I was the writer of it. Hoverer, as I mentioned on your page, I need help on what else is needed to be done on Penedo article in order to don't be removed from Wiki? is that the style of weighting or is that something else? I just want to learn how to do it the right way. Would appreciate your help a lot. Thank you in advance. Olga Wills (talk) 00:31, 12 May 2017 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Roberto Estuardo Penedo
editIf this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Roberto Estuardo Penedo requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from http://www.biography.international/2017/04/roberto-estuardo-penedo-rob-penedo-info.html#more. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. reddogsix (talk) 01:02, 12 May 2017 (UTC)
@Reddogsix: Please, explain to me how can I violate any copyright in Roberto Estuardo Penedo blog page when all the materials belong to me, which is very clear said at the article itself? Olga Wills (talk) 01:19, 12 May 2017 (UTC)
- Since "On the Internet, nobody knows you're a dog, just saying you are someone is not enough. Please read WP:DCM. reddogsix (talk) 02:14, 12 May 2017 (UTC)
- @Reddogsix: The blog has been updated, It says on the bottom of the page: "All images and content are released free of copyrights." So, it's Free to be used. Now you can update your inputs on the Penedo article from your side. Looking forward to it. Olga Wills (talk) 02:20, 12 May 2017 (UTC)
- Yes, reddogsix, that was a crass speedy nomination. You know damn well that the article is at AfD, is being looked at by a good few long-standing contributors, and that you also have an explanation there that is reasonable. Whatever issues there may be with that article, and however misguided OlgaWills2017 might be, your action really does stink of WP:BITE. Please do not do it again. - Sitush (talk) 01:35, 13 May 2017 (UTC)
- Of course I know the article is at AfD; however, being in AfD does not absolve it of copyright violations. If you understood copyright issues and how they apply to Wikipedia articles you would know that. Bottom line is a copyright violation is just that and copied material is not allowed in Wikipedia. Under the same circumstances, I would do exactly the same same as I did. I would suggest you look in the mirror when it comes to WP:AGF. </sigh> reddogsix (talk) 02:30, 13 May 2017 (UTC)
Orphaned non-free image File:Roberto Estuardo Penedo. Award Ceremony. Honoris Causa Doctor in Services to the Human Kind.jpg
editThanks for uploading File:Roberto Estuardo Penedo. Award Ceremony. Honoris Causa Doctor in Services to the Human Kind.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 17:54, 13 May 2017 (UTC)
