Proposed deletion of Henri Betti

edit

The article Henri Betti has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this newly created biography of a living person will be deleted unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Speedy deletion nomination of Henri Betti

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Henri Betti requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. -- Patchy1 02:28, 15 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Fanny Sidney

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Fanny Sidney requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article or image appears to be a clear copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website or image but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

Cité du Cinéma

Mr. Betti, I did some edits to the Tenants section on the Cité du Cinéma page. If I understand correctly what you originally had written, Ajoz Films is a production company founded by Ariel Zeitoun, Chez Wam was founded/started by Alain Chabat, etc, etc…right? What you had previously written was a bit grammatically strange, so I hope you do not mind my changes.

Proposed deletion of Trois hommes et un piano

edit

The article Trois hommes et un piano has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Not verifiable. No references other than IMDb cited or found.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. power~enwiki (π, ν) 02:53, 3 March 2018 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Marlie Collins

When a page has substantially identical content to that of a page deleted after a discussion, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. As previously advised, your edits, such as the edit you made to Marlie Collins, give the impression you have a financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. You were asked to cease editing until you responded by either stating that you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits, or by complying with the mandatory requirements under the Wikimedia Terms of Use that you disclose your employer, client and affiliation. Again, you can post such a disclosure on your user page at User:Olivier BETTI, and the template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Olivier BETTI|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. Please respond before making any other edits to Wikipedia. Based on your edits to this article and to Alix Bénézech, as well as your continued pattern of ignoring COI warnings, I have reason to suspect that you are being paid to write promotional biographies of actors. Please respond to these concerns. signed, Rosguill talk 18:41, 14 December 2019 (UTC)Reply

No I am not paid to make "Wikipedia" pages on actors. It's just to make them happy.

Marlie Collins sang my grandpa's song "C'est si bon" in an episode of "The Man in the High Castle" last year, I contacted him and then I wanted to create his page for him "Wikipedia" to please him, but that's it. I do not know all the features of this site and I do not speak English so it is a bit difficult for me but I thought that when we brought in external links it was enough.

Thank you for disclosing the (minor) conflict of interest. However, the issue with Marlie Collins was that while sources were provided, they were not secondary sources but rather database entries, which do not contribute towards WP:GNG. An additional issue was that Marlie Collins had already been deleted following a discussion at AfD. Once an article has been deleted via an AfD discussion, it should not be recreated unless significant improvements have been made to address the issues raised in the deletion discussion. signed, Rosguill talk 21:27, 14 December 2019 (UTC)Reply
Okay, I didn't know that! Well, I hope that Marlie Collins will become more popular so that someone more competent than me on this site can recreate his page!

Shane Harvey (musician) moved to draftspace

edit

An article you recently created, Shane Harvey (musician), does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited J'ai deux amours, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page John Murray. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Offering to assist with references February 25

edit

Hello Olivier, I stumbled upon your page about your grandfather while editing the pages that reference Mitchell Parish, which were seriously deficient. I tried to assist by adding some reference links to your page about Henri Betti that I already had because of my research. I read some French, but not very fluent. I'm an American jazz musician and am very interested in Henri Betti, but don't have access to some of the primary sources, such as his biography. I'm also a retired librarian. If I can help you in any way, please contact me. Am happy to help you document your article with neutral sources due to the fact that Wikipedia deems you to have a "conflict of interest." Opinion re "conflict" February 26

edit

M. Olivier Betti appears to be the best authority on the life of his grandfather, and seems to be in possession of Henri Betti's personal archive related to his career as a composer and musician. Olivier's authority has been accepted by no less than Radio France, where he was interviewed about his father and the interview is available on their website. [[1]] He also regularly posts images of primary sources (media clippings) on the Facebook page he maintains in memory of his grandfather. [[2]] (And yes, I do understand that Wikipedia does not accept Facebook as a source, I am simply referencing it in this note to show he has the clippings.) I have suggested to Olivier that he take some of these clippings and create citations to them for this article.

If we define "conflict of interest" very broadly, yes, he is close to the subject, but I sincerely believe his motivation is a desire to document this history - particularly to English speaking people who might not be able to read French. As a jazz educator, I think the music of M. Henri Betti is of importance in both American and French culture. I hope that this may contribute to the discussion. Thank you. Proposed deletion of Rendez-vous avec Maurice Chevalier n°4

edit

The article Rendez-vous avec Maurice Chevalier n°4 has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Appears to fail WP:NFILM

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
