I am currently busy in real life.

I'm around, but Wikipedia is currently taking the back seat.

dyk

edit

I see that the cricket portal gets its dyk set updated. Well done. DYK ... that Harry Peckham, along with Charles Bennet, 4th Earl of Tankerville, wrote the first draft of cricket's leg before wicket rule? NYMR - Phil Bustard Fan Club

edit

Thank you for deleting that entirely inappropriate NYMR entry. I was considering doing so myself but had only got so far as identifying who added it - unfortunately an anonymous user. If such a section were desirable in the NYMR article there are a great many other people who have contributed to the success of the NYMR over the last 40 years who deserve mention before Mr. Bustard, who is a very new member of the NYMR management team - even assuming he has made a useful contribution since he joined. RE

Railway line header‎

edit

I have asked for unprotecting this template but failed because it has been transcluded by over 4000 articles/templates. The only way to make the modification is to ask for "edit in protected page" by administrator/sysops, again in wikipedia:request for page protection. But that modification needs to be agreed by "enough" users in the talk page before making the request. In this case, 2 of us seem to be too little. Or you may ask more RDT activists personally for agreement and reply in template talk:Railway line header‎ to justify the request. -- Sameboat - 同舟 (talk) 02:52, 23 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Your NYMR article changes back in May 2006

edit

I am currently trying to change all references in this article into inline references, in May 2006 you did a major edit to this article, including adding the first two references and it is these two that I have yet to convert to inline form; my problem is that I cannot associate these references with a particular part of the article. Rather than simply removing them, I thought it best to contact you first in case, after all this time, you could remember to where they refered.

If I do not hear from you, I shall remove those two final non-inline references but would hope in due course to create more inline references in keeping with the size of the article.

WW1 Watches up for deletion

edit

Hi Ollie I am the author of the book "the birth of the wristwatch and its baptism in ww1" from where this article originates. The subject is vastly misunderstood and I am trying to create true awareness about it. Ian Haynes —Preceding unsigned comment added by WW1 Watches (talkcontribs) 17:44, 10 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom elections are now open!

edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
