Great work!
editThe Anti-Flame Barnstar | ||
I was trying to figure out what barnstar to award you based on the amazing work you have done with Vancouver Canucks player pages. The Anti-Flame Barnstar just jumped off of the page for some reason. Don't tell Resolute ;-) For your tireless efforts contributing GA and FA class articles, including a significant number of Canucks, I award you the Anti-Flame Barnstar. Wikipedia Ambassador Program is looking for new Online Ambassadors
editHi! I noticed your activity as a Good Article reviewer, and wanted to let you know about the Wikipedia Ambassador Program, and specifically the role of Online Ambassador. We're looking for friendly Wikipedians who are good at reviewing articles and giving feedback to serve as mentors for students who are assigned to write for Wikipedia in their classes.
If you're interested, I encourage you to take a look at the Online Ambassador guidelines; the "mentorship process" describes roughly what will be expected of mentors in the coming term. If that's something you want to do, please apply!
You can find instructions for applying at WP:ONLINE. The main things we're looking for in Online Ambassadors are friendliness, regular activity (since mentorship is a commitment that spans several months), and the ability to give detailed, substantive feedback on articles (both short new articles, and longer, more mature ones).
I hope to hear from you soon.--Sage Ross - Online Facilitator, Wikimedia Foundation (talk) 20:16, 20 January 2011 (UTC)

Hi, I've seen from some of the GA reviews that I've carried out that you've done a fair bit of good work for WP:HOCKEY, and have a fair idea of the requirement for GA, and maybe even FA. I've expanded (quite dramatically) the article on Ron Hextall, the scourge of attackers everywhere (their legs at any rate) and have created a peer review for the page. I was hoping you might be able to have a look and give me any feedback (or just a quick copy-edit). Thanks in advance for any help you can provide, Harrias talk 10:05, 24 April 2011 (UTC)
- Yeah, definitely GA, and we'll see how the article shapes up as regards FA. No rush for anything, so feel free to take your time if needs be! Hopefully the Flyers will get an OT goal to cheer me up now! Harrias talk 22:19, 24 April 2011 (UTC)
Burrows details
editMy viewpoint is that if every article about an athlete went in depth about who was on the ice when they scored goals, Wikipedia would quickly start reading like a newspaper. Since Wikipedia is not an indiscriminate collection of information, I don't see why it's notable to say that Burrows intercepted a pass from Chris Campoli or that he missed a penalty shot on Corey Crawford earlier in the game. While I believe such details could be notable if they take place, for example, during a vital Stanley Cup final game, it happening in the round of 16 makes me question whether its notability will hold up months, much less years down the road. Can you tell me, for example, which Nashville Predator Patrick Kane took a puck away from during game 6 of the Western Conference quarterfinals last year to tie the game with 15 seconds to go? Probably not, and it definitely doesn't belong on Wikipedia, while his Cup-clinching goal does (as the details of his scoring it were extensively covered at the time as well as months after it happened).
Good players will have plenty of great goals, but to indiscriminately list details on all of them will just bog down their articles and diminish the impact of their real accomplishments on the ice. Just my two cents. Dimaspivak (talk) 06:29, 29 April 2011 (UTC)
- Game 7... of the first round. (And so what that's it game 7? Would this goal be included if it had been scored in a game 5 series clincher?) I don't know what part of that is lost on you, but you clearly care more about this than I do so feel free to include it and every other round-of-16 game-winning goal in the biographies of the hockey players that score them.
PS: I've seen Bure's goal against the Flames has included in lists of the most memorable goals in NHL history. Do I think Burrows' routine steal and shot will rise to that level? No, but even if you do, Wikipedia is not a crystal ball. Dimaspivak (talk) 07:53, 29 April 2011 (UTC)

Rollback
editI've assigned you the rollback right, as I think you might find it useful, given your previous anti-vandal work. In short, rollback is a faster version of undo or Twinkle. It's used to revert where further explanation isn't required, so that's usually in the case of vandalism. WP:ROLLBACK has more info. If you have any questions, or you want me to remove rollback, feel free to contact me. Maxim(talk) 22:06, 17 May 2011 (UTC)

Your GA nomination of Todd Bertuzzi
editThe article Todd Bertuzzi you nominated as a good article has been placed on hold . The article is close to meeting the good article criteria, but there are some minor changes or clarifications needed to be addressed. If these are fixed within seven days, the article will pass, otherwise it will fail. See Talk:Todd Bertuzzi for things which need to be addressed.
- More than happy to pass this article. Only suggestion would be to trim down the Steve Moore incident some more. I could see that raising issues if it was put up for FAC, but it is fine as far as I am concerned for GA. Congratulations. AIRcorn (talk) 22:03, 14 June 2011 (UTC)
Can you do me a favor?
editHello, I was wondering if you would be able to do a favor for me? I was hoping you could look at the new West Coast Express (ice hockey) article I created and look it over to see if anything needs to be added or if things should be removed. Before I link this to other pages I wanted to get your take on it. I know the lead is terrible right now I'm going to have to put more time in on that, but could you also check to make sure I didn't use American English? I was hoping to make this into a GA if possible so any input would be great. Obviously it goes with out saying but feel free to make any changes you see fit. Thank you!--Mo Rock...Monstrous (leech44) 03:58, 6 June 2011 (UTC)
- Also, I just thought of this, I remember there was a news outlet in Vancouver that had dubbed the Cheechoo-Thornton-Ekman line the "New West Coast Express" as kind of a dis to the Express. I couldn't find anything reliable on it to see if anything notable may have been mention for more information in the decline section. I don't know If you came across anything when you were working on the individual players articles about that but if you have time (and only if you have time) could you do maybe a quick Google check or something as I think the region settings for my searches don't pick up a great deal of Canadian articles? If you can't get to either of these things it's no big deal but I will defiantly owe you one. Thanks for your time.--Mo Rock...Monstrous (leech44) 19:37, 6 June 2011 (UTC)

Kariya image
editHi, I noticed you have been doing a lot of work on the Paul Kariya article (great work btw), I recently uploaded an image of Kariya and Jeremy Roenick to the commons (file:Jeremy Roenick & Paul Kariya.jpg). I uploaded it for the Roenick article but thought it might work well in the playing style section since there are few images that far down and he stated that Roenick was one of the players he patterned his game after. The image is a little dark so I'll let you decide if you want to add it, Didn't want to force my POV on the article especially if you are going to be taking this to GA or FA. I have reviewed this article, and am sad to say that I failed this article because the Canucks suck passed the article. Congrats on another fine Canucks player GA! I only had to correct a couple instances of missing words. I like those stories of kids who made it when nobody expected they would. I had some flashbacks to writing about Curtis Glencross' size issues as a midget when reviewing this one. Also, and I didn't mention it in the GA review, I wonder if you think it is relevant on this article to note that the Manitoba Moose relocated due to the NHL return to Winnipeg. Might it be enough just to note that Vancouver had relocated it's AHL affiliate? Food for thought. Regards, Resolute 01:58, 3 December 2011 (UTC)

WJC Pics
editHello, an IP has changed the pic of Jonathan Huberdeau to the one you uploaded as Quinton Howden. I did a Google image search and it looks like they are right. I also looked at the source and the way I counted them that is the pic the photographer identified as Huberdeau, while the one listed as Huberdeau looks like its listed as Nathan Beaulieu. I don't see Howden identified by the photographer but there is one that they didn't know. I don't know if you uploaded all of the pics but you might want to double check to be sure that the ID is correct since you might have a better ideal who these guys really are. Henrik Sedin and his identical twin brother Daniel Sedin (born 1980) are Swedish professional ice hockey players with the Vancouver Canucks of the National Hockey League (NHL). Henrik (pictured rear) is the team's captain and all-time leading scorer, and Daniel (pictured front) serves as alternate captain in home games. Having played together throughout their career the pair are known for their effectiveness playing off one another. They began their professional careers in the Swedish Elite League with Modo Hockey in 1997 and were joint recipients of the 1999 Golden Puck as Swedish player of the year. Daniel was selected second overall by the Canucks in the 1999 NHL Entry Draft, and Henrik was picked third. Henrik was the team's leading points scorer from 2007–08 to 2009–10 and in 2009–10, he won the Hart Memorial and Art Ross Trophies as the NHL's most valuable player and leading point-scorer, respectively. Daniel won the Art Ross Trophy the following season. They were co-recipients of the Victoria Stipendium as Swedish athletes of the year in 2011. Internationally, they have helped Sweden to victory at the 2006 Winter Olympics and the 2013 World Championships. (Full articles: Henrik Sedin – Daniel Sedin)

Roberto Luongo scheduled for TFA
editThis is to let you know that the Roberto Luongo article has been provisionally scheduled as today's featured article for April 4, 2019. Please check the article since it needs some amendments and updating. There are unsourced statements that need to be referenced or removed, and some ungrammatical text; I've removed some, but it needs checking.
If you're interested in editing the main page text, you're welcome to do so at Wikipedia:Today's featured article/April 4, 2019, but note that a coordinator will trim the lead to around 1000 characters anyway, so you aren't obliged to do so. We also suggest that you watchlist Wikipedia:Main Page/Errors on the day before and the day of this TFA. Thanks! Jimfbleak - talk to me? 14:04, 5 March 2019 (UTC)

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Reagan Rome until a consensus is reached, and anyone, including you, is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The article Ryan Rome has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Subject fails WP:NHOCKEY. Only played professional hockey in the CHL and UHL which only grants notability for preeminent honours, but the subject has none.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Tay87 (talk) 18:58, 17 August 2019 (UTC)
