Swinging

edit

You wrote: "I think the link you removed ( A Sociological Perspective on the Lifestyle ) is actually one of the good ones. I didn't revert, since it seems like you were editing in good faith, but you might want to put that one back in. Maybe. OscarTheCat 00:52, 9 October 2006 (UTC)"Reply

I dunno-- seems weak to me. I tend to lean on WP:EL's "Sites with meaningful, relevant content that is not suitable for inclusion in an article". It's not clear to me that this site fits that criterion. If you want to put it back, though, I won't revert. Cheers! -- Mwanner | Talk 01:03, 9 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

3RR and vandalism on Furcadia

edit

Don't worry, the three-revert rule doesn't apply if you're reverting vandalism. :) --Ixfd64 04:03, 14 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for clarifying that! OscarTheCat3 20:11, 14 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Swinging article external links - your changes

edit

That's better, actually - having them as references makes a clearer distinction between them and the spammy external links. Thanks!Inkwell 14:12, 2 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

RFD proposed without discussion?

edit

I just started working on Lasagna battery article, added as part of an explanation in Reference Desk: Science, and returned to find your RFD proposal. But very oddly, I find no comments on the article talk page. Please correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't such behavior akin to vandalism?

Please explain your intent. It would help if I knew if you have experience in physics education, and have strong feelings about deleting the article. If you honestly believe that this topic isn't good as a stand-alone article, perhaps it needs to be merged with other similar articles? Or are you just accusing me of Original Research? Are you aware that I just started the article a couple days ago, and haven't fleshed it out yet, nor added references? (You see, it would really help if you'd use the talk page instead of slapping on a template.)--Wjbeaty 21:12, 7 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

My sincere apologies for not employing the talk page. That may have been around the time my wife was, um, strongly suggesting that I put away the laptop for a bit.
To be clear, however, I did not AFD the article, I prod'd it. As stated in the prod template, at the time I read the article it sounded a bit to me like something someone made up in school one day. Since it is a prod, and not an AFD, you (or anyone) is free to remove the template, which I see that you did.
Obviously, vandalizing the article was not my intent, nor would it ever be. Likewise, no offense to you personally was ever intended. Hope this helps. OscarTheCat3 21:50, 7 January 2007 (UTC)Reply
OK. I was reading more into your actions than what was there. So, where is the article? It's gone, as is the redirect. --Wjbeaty 19:55, 14 January 2007 (UTC)Reply
According to the deletion log, Tizio deleted the article. I'm not an admin, so I don't know much more than that. Might want to contact Tizio and ask him/her. OscarTheCat3 22:21, 14 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Yellow Bar

edit

How do I get rid of this damn yellow bar? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 130.126.143.59 (talkcontribs).

It's the yellow thing which says I have new messages. It won't go away. ~s~s~s~s — Preceding unsigned comment added by 130.126.143.59 (talkcontribs)

DC Meetup notice

edit

Greetings. There is going to be a Washington DC Wikipedia meetup on next Saturday, July 21st at 5pm in DC. Since you are listed in Category:Wikipedians_in_Virginia, I thought I'd invite you to come. I'm sorry about the short notice for the meeting. Hopefully we'll do somewhat better in that regard next time. If you can't come but want to make sure that you are informed of future meetings be sure to list yourself under "but let me know about future events", and if you don't want to get any future direct notices \(like this one\), you can list yourself under "I'm not interested in attending any others either" on the DC meetup page.--Gmaxwell 22:08, 14 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

WP:CVU status

edit

The Wikipedia:Counter-Vandalism Unit project is under consideration to be moved to {{inactive}} and/or {{historical}} status. Another proposal is to delete or redirect the project. You have been identified as a project member and your input as to this matter would be welcomed at WT:CVU#Inactive.3F and at the deletion debate. Thank you! Proposal discussion resumed

edit

Hi.

I'm contacting you because you were involved in the discussion concerning the renaming of the lists of basic topics.

I ran into resistance when I attempted to rename the set.

Therefore, the name change hasn't been completed, because the previous discussion wasn't widespread enough, nor announced in enough places.

I've submitted a new proposal at Wikipedia:Village pump (proposals)#Proposal to rename the pages called List of basic x topics to Topic outline of x.

Nomination of NASCA International for deletion

edit

A discussion has begun about whether the article NASCA International, which you created or to which you contributed, should be deleted. While contributions are welcome, an article may be deleted if it is inconsistent with Wikipedia policies and guidelines for inclusion, explained in the deletion policy.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/NASCA International until a consensus is reached, and you are welcome to contribute to the discussion.

You may edit the article during the discussion, including to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion template from the top of the article. Kenilworth Terrace (talk) 18:14, 23 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom elections are now open!

edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
