Welcome to Wikipedia!

edit

Hello there, Ottokhanal, and welcome to the Internet's largest free encyclopedia! We appreciate your contributions and hope you decide to stay. Please check out the welcome page for help on how to get started.

I also have to regretfully inform you that we unfortunately cannot accept your article titled "Atal Khanal," because it is a biography on a person(s) who is not notable enough to merit an article here on Wikipedia. Sorry! If you have any questions about this or anything else, feel free to ask me. But please, if you do, talk to me kindly; I'd really appreciate it.

Happy Editing! -- P.B. Pilhet / Talk 19:11, 8 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Hello! Atal Khanal is not the appropriate place to post information about yourself, because it is in the part of Wikipedia that encyclopaedic articles are written. User:Ottokhanal, however, is available for personal information about yourself. Please see Wikipedia:Introduction and Wikipedia:User page for more information. -- P.B. Pilhet / Talk 19:11, 8 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for your kind message, Ottoknanal. Unfortunately, the subsject of your article (namely yourself) is not notable enough to have an article on Wikipedia. Please read our notability guidelines on people and our guidelines on writing autobiographies. You may also want to read what Wikipedia is not. Like I said above, your user page is the place for all of your personal information. Thanks again, and if you need any more help, just ask me! -- P.B. Pilhet / Talk 19:28, 8 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Atal Khanal

edit

A tag has been placed on Atal Khanal, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert notability may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is notable, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Fan-1967 19:07, 7 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hook Ya Crook

edit

I have added a "{{prod}}" template to the article Hook Ya Crook, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. iridescenti (talk to me!) 20:51, 6 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for uploading Image:Otto Khanal.jpg. A machine-controlled robot account noticed that you also uploaded the same image under the name Image:Atal1.jpg. The copy called Image:Atal1.jpg has been marked for speedy deletion since it is redundant. If this sounds okay to you, there is no need for you to take any action.

This is an automated message- you have not upset or annoyed anyone, and you do not need to respond. In the future, you may save yourself some confusion if you supply a meaningful file name and refer to 'my contributions' to remind yourself exactly which name you chose (file names are case sensitive, including the extension) so that you won't lose track of your uploads. For tips on good file naming, see Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions about this notice, or feel that the deletion is inappropriate, please contact User:Staecker, who operates the robot account. Staeckerbot 21:33, 4 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Unspecified source for Image:Atal_K.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Atal_K.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 18:58, 9 June 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. The Sunshine Man 18:58, 9 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Image tagging for Image:Amrita Rao.jpeg

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Amrita Rao.jpeg. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

Image:Atal_Khanal.jpg listed for deletion

edit

An image or media file that you uploaded or altered, Image:Atal_Khanal.jpg, has been listed at Wikipedia:Images and media for deletion. Please see the discussion to see why this is (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry), if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you. User:Gay Cdn (talk) (Contr) 02:12, 2 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Dear uploader: The media file you uploaded as Image:Sha16a-1-.jpg has been listed for speedy deletion because you selected a copyright license type implying some type of restricted use, such as for non-commercial use only, or for educational use only or for use on Wikipedia by permission. While it might seem reasonable to assume that such files can be freely used on Wikipedia, this is in fact not the case[1][2]. Please do not upload any more files with these restrictions on them, because content on Wikipedia needs to be compatible with the GNU Free Documentation License, which allows anyone to use it for any purpose, commercial or non-commercial. See our non-free content guidelines for more more information.

If you created this media file and want to use it on Wikipedia, you may re-upload it (or amend the image description if it has not yet been deleted) and use the license {{GFDL-self}} to license it under the GFDL, or {{cc-by-sa-2.5}} to license it under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike license, or use {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain.

If you did not create this media file but want to use it on Wikipedia, there are two ways to proceed. First, you may choose one of the fair use tags from this list if you believe one of those fair use rationales applies to this file. Second, you may want to contact the copyright holder and request that they make the media available under a free license.

If you have any questions please ask at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you. ˉˉanetode╦╩ 00:53, 17 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion of Atal Khanal

edit

A tag has been placed on Atal Khanal requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.
