Help me! (spaces)

edit

Please help me with... I've completed an article and submitted it for review, but I'm having persistent problems with spacing on the page. I made edits, but they don't seem to take. There are several places where there's an extra space before a punctuation mark which I'd like to eliminate. Even though I've gone through and made those changes several times, the page doesn't update.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Shari_Diamond As an example, you can look at the very end of the page "Secrets: An Invitational . 494 Gallery, New York, NY." I haven't been able to eliminate this space between the word "Invitational" and the period. You'll see this throughout the entire page - a lot of extra spaces next to punctuation and links. Thank you! Ovaryian (talk) 14:59, 15 November 2020 (UTC)Reply

Not sure why that is; it seemed to work okay for me. I suspect this is a bug in the Visual Editor, so I'll make a cross-post to WP:VPT and see if anyone can shed light on this. In the meantime, I might suggest switching to the "source" editor if you're overly concerned about those spaces. If you want more help, change the {{help me-helped}} back into a {{help me}}, stop by the Teahouse, or Wikipedia's live help channel, or the help desk to ask someone for assistance. Primefac (talk) 15:45, 15 November 2020 (UTC)Reply

Much of your additions are unsourced. As they are on a wp:BLP, they can and probably should be removed immediately. See WP:BLPRS. For adding references, please see wp:citing sources. Thank you Adakiko (talk) 00:46, 17 September 2022 (UTC)Reply

Your recent editing history at Susan Sherman shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See the bold, revert, discuss cycle for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you do not violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. As that is a shared reference wp:NAMEDREF and it is used multiple times, the page number should go in the {{rp}} template following the cite book or named ref e.g. <ref name="AmChild"/>{{rp|150-151}} for page 150-151. Including it in the cite book would be confusing.

If the date in the image is approximate, maybe use "c. 1987"? Adakiko (talk) 10:42, 21 September 2022 (UTC)Reply

There's a template {{circa|2022}} which generates c. 2022 Adakiko (talk) 12:10, 21 September 2022 (UTC)Reply

The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
